*** NEW ENGLAND v OAKLAND - GAME THREAD *** (1 Viewer)

face it folks.  Collins sucks.
 Collins had nowhere to go tonight but up. He had a great first half, and now NE is doing what they do to everybody. Does Manning suck because he gets eaten alive by the Pats? Give me a break. Collins might not be the greatest QB in the league, but with this offense he is top 5, it's that simple.
 top 5 what are you drinking
The projections for this site you are posting on has Collins top five. You're flabbergasted by this? I think barring injury it is a certainty. Clearly Porter and Curry are not healthy tonight. When they are, you have one of the top recieving trios in the league, and Jordan who has proven he can catch passes. People don't like Collins, fine. His situation dictates elite stats.
I disagree with the projection of collins from this site. Are you saying any QB in Oakland would be top 5?Does the situation dictate that I would be top 5 if I stepped in? I throw a mean nerf ball.
no - but a guy with Collins' arm - who throws a great deep ball - can put up monster stats when he is throwing to Moss, Porter and Curry with Jordan out of the backfield - and when the D sucks as bad as the Raiders' D, garbage stats come into play.
Exactly. I don't know what is so hard to understand about this. It is why Collins is listed top ten--in most cases closer to top five--in most preseason rankings. Everyone is ranting and raving about he is terrible. Who cares? I don't care if he looks bad or loses games or trips on his ########. We're all playing fantasy football right? Okay then. Like he was at the end of last year (withOUT Moss), he's going to put up fat numbers. There's very little to dispute this.

I've said this all offseason:Any average QB with Moss will be top 5.

A late Cunningham with no legs was, Jeff George was, Culpepper was, Frerotte was, and Collins will be.
And I believe Cunningham, George and Frerotte had an all-pro running back, and the #2 WR of all time on the same team. We'll find out about Culpepper. We know Collins blows EVEN WITH MOSS. 14/35 now. :lmao:

Lamont Jordan quietly had a nice evening.

70 yds rush, 4 rec for another 41 yds.

In 100 yd bonus leagues with 1 PPR, he has about 15-18 points tonight...considering the defense he faced you have to be happy with this efort.
i am in a 100 bonus league - but you can't add the yardage together.if he managed a TD they'd be much better stats, but they are fine for your RB2 on the road against NE's D.

Hard to get fat numbers when I am watching him throw the ball into the turf.

Great - Moss gets a fade route in the end zone for garbage points........

what do you guys think of Dillon now?
Decent player on a fantastic team - same as before
:lmao: < people who quickly denounce Dillon too old but now make excuses why he has double digit fantasy points and just took two OAK players on his back for three extra yards. :lmao:
Actually those of us who commented on Dillon weren't talking about fantasy land. We were commenting on his in game performance which was not nearly as good as his fantasy land scoring indicates.
It seemed to me Bellichick game planned to pass and not run tonight. Just enough to keep the D somewhat honest. Let's face it NE has at least 6 very good possession recievers and at least 3 with decent or better speed for their position. And there is no question brady is an extremely accurate passer.

Thats not working out tonight. Maybe it will in the future but I dont think so.
250 yards and 2 TDs "isn't working"??

Frerotte was top 5 for like 3 weeks. We can't say with any certainly he was top 5 for an entire season.

Who was the #2 QB when Frerotte was QB? It wasn't Carter? And why do you keep bring up his completion numbers? I'm not saying hes a good NFL QB. I'm simply saying he'll put up amazing FF stats, and unless your league penalizes for incompletions, then 14/35 doesn't matter, but 250-2 with 3:00 left in the game does matter.

Approaching 300 yards and 3 tds. Man, how will he ever reach top five this year? Go ahead and post his completion percentage again.

 no. where did I say that?

what a great lesson this game has taught the people who quickly were getting on Dillon and Kerry, it's a long season guys.

Corey Dillon looks old and slow tonight.
it's the OL - and, surprisingly, the Raiders front seven.that said, i don't think he'll repeat 1600 rush yards. I DO think he'll have a good number of TDs this year - 10-12.
??You saw a yardage machine tonight?

I see a guy who will take advanntage of red zone opps and get some extra yardage in games that the team has in hand.
