*** NEW ENGLAND v OAKLAND - GAME THREAD *** (2 Viewers)

Collins getting pressured--he looks terrified and utterly ineffective. Thank God they don't have to play at New England every week.

Jordan looks GOOOOOOD. Dillon didn't, but a nice second effort for that touchdown.
I'm not sure where that's coming from.He had that long run after the catch because the defender went for the ball. Other than that he's been solid but unspectacular.
16 touches - 90plus yardsI'm just saying, he's living up to the billing. I for one DO NOT have him on any of my 9 teams....need to see a full season of work from a guy who's never had more than 8 carries...I'm just saying right now I'm wishing I took at LEAST 1 chance on him.

I knew I saw Lamont stretching...As for you Dillon naysayers, I'm going to be targetting him this week in trades. The Pats o-line and Dillon look rusty, I have a hard time believing that he's regressed this much during the offseason. Sure there's wear and tear, but I think he'll come around.

Didn't someone call this a copycat league - if so it could be a long year for the Raiders

If other teams can copycat the minds of head coaches and the bodies of players, yes they're in for a long year.

27 of those yards came on three receptions (and that is 18 rushes)

through almost 3 quarters.

Collins is 7/13 - 2 TDs- 1int - 159 yards --- 1 catch for 79 yards

Moss has 2 catches. 1 was spectacular, to be sure.

I don't think this = AWESOME.

Tough D though, maybe Collins can break out his historical suckiness.

Jordan looks GOOOOOOD. Dillon didn't, but a nice second effort for that touchdown.

Nice TD by Branch, my apologies Maxie and JoeT. DRAFT AWAY!
Just for your reference, 159-2-1 through 3 quarters means hes on pace for:3400 yards, 43 TDs, and 21 INTs.

And keep in mind that hes playing arguably the best defense in the league, so we should add at least 600 yards and 7 TDs considering that he'll be playing average Ds the rest of the way.

So that puts up at 4000 yards and 50 TDs.

Of course, I realize this is ridiculous, but I'm just pointing out that hes doing pretty well so far.

I don't give a #### on which receptions/rushes the 90 yards came.

Collins is getting pressured every single snap now. Heck the last time the Raiders only rushed 3 and Collins still had to rush it. I wish someone would get in the linemans' ###.

the raiders are looking very uninspired here. No way they win this one. I see a moss errution by week 5

Nope.Just Denver twice, Washington, Philadelphia and Buffalo from here on out.
I'll be at the Skins/Raiders game. It will be fun to watch the Skins blitz Collins silly

right - no one is going to game plan the Raiders by bringing pressure on Collins - check (and obviously the Raiders won't try to improve the O-Line)

Plus he gets to see Strahan and if the DeMarcus Ware is even half as good as his hype, that will be fun for Collins too.

Yeah, and if you back out 1 pass....blah blah blah.Stick your Collins sig bet someplace else. He looks like the same average Collins to me.

Damned if I didn't start last season with only 2 points outta my kicker, too. :hot:

It's ashame 'cause the Raiders D is actually doing a great job. If it weren't for the Collins blunder, the Patsies would be ineffective in the 2nd half too.Somebody please wake Collins and the O line up.Oh, and it may not hurt for Collins to throw to someone other than Moss.

then at least get your facts straight - 21 TOUCHES, not 16

Jordan will be fine - its going to take him a bit to get used to not running for 7 ypc on 4 carries against worn out mop up 4th quarter defenses. :D

Every gameplan for every game in any football game on any level is to pressure the QB. Some coaches and some teams are effective at doing it, others are not. New England is pretty good at it. Most teams are not. The Oakland offense will be huge--they've already done damage against a top 3 defense on the road. When they play the KCs of the league they're going to be dynamite.

Your right, he does look like the same old Collins...except on that one 70 yards TD to Moss. So take the same old Collins stats and add 70 yards and 1 TD per game to them, and you'll get what hes going to do this year, which will be a top 3 FF QB.

Big plays for TDs are a poor indicator of future performance FWIW.

You know when Chad Scott is making good plays then Bill Bellichik must be a freaking genius.
Bellichick was probably thinking "All my DBs are 5'10" except Chad Scott, let me scheme him into covering Randy Moss" and he does it :loco:

Thank God I'm not a Raider fan. Penalty after penalty after penalty. Collins throwing off his back foot alot.Where in the hell are Porter and Curry.
