"New Girl" on Fox (1 Viewer)

I find myself less and less interested in the show. Like it's already jumped the shark / trying to be itself too much.

Coach killed this show. Thanks for another terrible performance Wayans DNA
When the other cast members pretend to be dumb, it feels like they actually could be. Coach seems to be trying too hard. In real life, that's probably a compliment. But for this show, it's a very bad thing.

Cranked through the first few episodes of the new season. I think they've fully rebounded from last season's disaster.

Schmidt's back to bring Schmidt. They are figuring that out the Winston/Coach dynamic. Nick and Jess are of course better apart.

Back in Season 1 form.

Major bonus points for a Sweet D appearance.

I've found this season to be a great reboot. First few episodes have been pretty darn funny.

Yeah, I'm willing to give them a mulligan from last year.

The comedy coupling is always dangerous, and it just didn't work. They are moving on well it seems

Wow, I thought this week's episode was painfully bad. I'm out.
I didn't watch last night's episode yet, but I have to agree. This year has been pretty unfunny. I still crack a smile at a couple of the jokes, but for the most part, unwatchable. That said, I'll keep watching for now.

Agreed. Last season was brutal. I thought the combination of Coach and Nick+Jess messed it all up. This season is back on the right track. More Schmidt and more Winston being Winston.

Coach rules.
I really think the addition of him and trying to turn Jess into a cool, hot chick instead of the adorkable chick were the two things that hurt this show.
He just needs a girlfriend, I vote for Eliza Coupe
I like the actor. I just don't like his role on this show. Seems way too forced. Also, he seems like a cool guy trying to play a dorky part. Just doesn't seem to work.

Coahc hurt last season, but it's gotten better this season.

I think they are getting back to adorkable (ugh) Jess. They just had a great episode devoted to teaching Jess the ways of Dice/Tinder. As with nearly every TV show/movie, you have ignore the ridiculous premise that a legitimate 8+ can't seem to find a decent man to #### her.

Agree. He's WAY too forced. His acting style is almost like an In Living Color bit his dad would do, but intertwined into a sitcom.

I wondered on a couple of occasions this season if maybe they hired a new Happy Endings writer or two. A number of scenes have featured that Happy Endings pacing. #### I miss that show.

I hope you're describing CeCe and not Jess.

I always appreciate when someone is truly dedicated to their craft.

I'm sure there was a Zooey pole done here at some point and I can't remember how I voted, but I'd say she fluctuates between a 7 and 8. But fair enough.

Has anyone been watching this while Zooey is off the show during maternity leave?  It has been really wacky, with Megan Fox as a guest star.  I've NEVER thought she was a good actress, but I have been pleasantly surprised and she actually has some decent comic timing....

Yeah shes actually pretty good.

I had largely stopped watching towards the end of S3, but decided to give S4 (then 5) a shot. Pretty remarkable turn around. S4 was really great. The spider episode was one of their best ever.

As a Chuck fan, the S4 finale got me a little misty. Not that I care that much about CeCe and Schmidt getting married, but I wasn't prepared for "Rivers and Roads" to get dropped.

I do miss Coach in S5, who they finally started using better in S4. I'm not sure the show will ever totally find it's way on Winston, but the Winston/CeCe pairing look for the dress was some good stuff.

A lot of people seem to think that Winston has become the best character on the show. I still think it's Nick=Schmidt>Winston, but Winston has his moments now much more than earlier in the series.

He's certainly gotten better, but yeah, it's just going to be tough to compete with Nick and Schmidt.
