Um, did you watch the game? First half? Last drive? Watch those again and get back to me. I like McNabb a lot, but this game is a lot on the defense, and a lot on McNabb. No way around that.Yeah well I hope there's enough of you Eagles fans out there to drive him out so that he goes somewhere else and wins a SB. And then maybe you'll wake up one day and realize maybe you should have provided the guy with some talent catching the ball and a better offensive line throughout his career. You don't deserve this guy.Congrats Cards.
McNabb sucks.
1) If he makes some of the easy throws that any NFL QB should be able to make 10 out of 10 times early on, then they're not down by 18 in the first place.2) Again, if he makes some of the easy throws on that 2nd and 3rd down, then Curtis dropping the ball on 4th down doesn't matter. There were 3 open receivers on those last 3 plays, and on two of them Mcnabb just made awful throws on what should have been an easy pass. The order that they happened, and the fact that the drop was the 3rd of the 3, does not absolve him from blame there. He made some great throws in the second half of that game, but you have to be able to rely on your quarterback to make the easy throws when they're open, and Mcnabb is one of the few that you can't rely on to consistently do that.McNabb led 3 clutch drives in the second half for TDs. He brought them from down 18 to take a lead in the 4th quarter. His inability to a TD on the last drive is not completely his fault. On the biggest throw/play of the game, he put the ball right to Curtis for what should have been first down at the 30. McNabb played great in the clutch, by and large. No QB is perfect. How he played down the stretch and today is commendable. When healthy and focused, he is top 5 at his position.
Warner and McNabb may each complete the same pass, but Warner puts it in a place where th guy can keep moving, not turn into a contortionist to catch a 6 yard pass. That's the thing though, every big play he makes is canceled out by another play that should have been a big play but wasn't because he made a poor throw on an easy play. The bomb to Desean Jackson that he made a good throw on was worth 7 points. The ball that he threw into the ground on a short in to Hank Baskett that he could have run 70 yards on cost them 7 points. He extended a couple drives with nice throws on 3rd downs. Likewise he ended several drives with poor throws that should have been completed easily.Mcnabb is a playmaker, but he needs to be able to complete the easy stuff too. Otherwise all the plays that he makes are just starting to catch up for all the easy plays that he had already missed.he made more big plays than any other Eagle player and its not even close.
Actually the last drive was the one with the silly rugby play. The penultimate drive was the one with the fourth down incompletion.Penultimate means "second to the end." They scored a TD on the penultimate drive.
Yeah, that's the only sour note. I hate that *******. Had season tickets until they left and broke our hearts.Of course, the Rams healed us, for awhile. =)I'm happy for Kurt Warner, I'm happy for fans of the Big Red in St. Louis, but watching Bill Bidwill smiling makes me want to throw up.
it was the 2nd to last drive. their last one was the desperation play.as usual, mcnabb does just enough to keep his defenders happy. but not enough to win. cant wait to see what glorious disappointment is in store for next yearPenultimate means "second to the end." They scored a TD on the penultimate drive. Mcnabb played well enough to win today. He could have done more, but really...looking at this game, he made more big plays than any other Eagle player and its not even close. Not many QB's play better in championship games than McNabb just did. His numbers and performance were better than average, good enough to win. And his second half performance was outstanding. TD's 3 of 4 drives in the clutch? C'mon man.you are truly blind to reality. When there was no pressure, McNabb played great. Then, on the penultimate drive, he threw high to Westbrook (great 1 handed catch), high to DJ, behind baskett (would have been a 1st down), and then high to Curtis (though a PI call is debatable).bottom line, he played well enough to provide fodder for all you 5 apologists. But, yet again, not well enough to win a big gameMcNabb led 3 clutch drives in the second half fpr TD.
Why do people continue to pick NFL games? Weren't the odds of the Cardinals winning in Carolina and beating Philly around 20%? Please stop..Anybody think the Cardinals will beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl? I set the odds at 20%

Horrible idea. They trip and fall on the way back to their own end zone and they give the ball over right there.videoguy505 said:Why punt instead of running for 15 seconds backwards for a safety as time expires?
I'll take the Cards somewhat confidently against either Pitt or Balt. That team is on fire.scott72 said:Why do people continue to pick NFL games? Why not run the punt team out and snap with :01 on the play clock so the clock continues to run through the snap and the punt? Kick it out of of bounds, but you get :05-:06 more seconds off the clock there? The clock starts when the ball is snapped on a punt, it wouldn't have made any difference.

I was a fan of the Big Red when I lived there - I almost ran him off a bridge on purpose, my Dad said I should have and they would have held a parade in my honor. One of the saddest days was watching Larry Wilson who played his heart out for the Cardinals get his HOF ring at a game, sadly Bidwell came on the field with him for the ceremony and Busch Stadium rained down boos for the entire time. Honestly I don't have any happiness for this occasion because of Bidwell, he is slime.MrPhoenix said:I'm happy for Kurt Warner, I'm happy for fans of the Big Red in St. Louis, but watching Bill Bidwill smiling makes me want to throw up.
if the eagles had any other option at QB, i would say "take mcnabb, please". you deal with his goofy, choking a##Mighty Mice said:McNabb led 3 clutch drives in the second half for TDs. And his #1 receiver (along with the rest of the receivers) plays a heroic game and McNabb coughs it up again. The Patriots were ripe to be had that night. Rewatch that game some time. McNabb put up big numbers that game but only because his receivers made a number of GREAT catches. Every throw was behind his receiver.gigantor said:And yet he continues to win without a legit #1 WR. The Eagles have put a very good offensive line around him for years. He has Westbrook. He has an offensive coach that lets him throw all the time. Playing for the Eagles isnt holding him back. New to Eagles clock (mis)management?Sorry if I missed most of this thread but I was apoplectic over the playcall from the 46.Clock's gonna stop at 2:00.2:09 1 & 10 - inc pass2:06 2 & 10 - inc pass2:01 3 & 10 - inc passWhere was the draw on any of the first 3 downs to make it a more manageable down and distance? You've already picked up 40+ yards in the first minute, just get to the 2:00 warning and talk it over.
and the if they run that and get 2 yards you'd be the same guy complaining.. vintage mcnabb. cant wait to hear the mcnabb apologists after this onePlenty of time, thrown high, but dropped. Thrown well, caught by Jackson short of the first down. Thrown well, caught by Celek in the open field. Thrown high, caught by Westbrook. Thrown short, way behind Baskett and he slips. Thrown high, missed. Thrown behind the receiver, dropped. Thrown fine, dropped by Curtis. Would better receivers have helped? Probably. But that was not a great two minute drill.
As expected, Buddy is right there to pounce all over McNabb for losing us the big game. It's almost as if he was watching a totally different game. When the birds came back to take the lead, BK was ready to give McNabb the credit. When McNabb missed Baskett on the last (meaningful) drive...he's a bum again.Funny thing though...his numbers aren't just good for this game...they're VERY good. The Offense moved the ball well all game, and McNabb led three straight LONG TD drives in the third/early fourth quarters to take the lead. Not good QB play...GREAT QB play.Even the biggest McNabb apologists will acknowledge that he's a bit streaky. And he was in this game.HOWEVER....it goes beyond idiotic to put this loss on #5. Where was the DST that had been setting the O up with short fields most of the year? The O took the fourth quarter lead...and the Defense promptly gave up a 60 yard TD drive that took 8 minutes off the clock????!!!!!!!#5 threw for 385 yards and 3 TD's with one pick that was rebounded off a recievers hands. Tell me BK...if you'd known McNabb would throw for those numbers yesterday......would you have predicted a loss? I sure wouldn't have.McNabb didn't win us the game...but he sure as hell didn't lose it for the Eagles either. Too quickly we forget that McNabb and the Eagles have been playing elimination football for 6 or 7 weeks now. It finally caught up to them. HUGEyou are truly blind to reality. TO THOSE BASHING MCNABB AND THE EAGLES NOW. This Eagles fan is dissapointed in this loss, but proud to say that we were there when few non-Eagl;es fans thought we were even playoff worthy, let alone 13 minutes from the SB. Great job by #5 and the Eagles this year. Our time will (eventually, I hiope) come. Why not run? If they run on first down and even if they only pick up 2 yards, it's 2 & 8 from the 44 with 2:00 left and McNabb gets a breather to go talk it over. You've given the defense something else to look at and you've given the o-line a chance to run block for once. And the play can burn no more than nine seconds off the clock because of the 2 minute warning. And no, I wouldn't be the guy complaining. I'm usually the guy (or one of the guys) in these threads yelling for Andy to run the ball.and the if they run that and get 2 yards you'd be the same guy complaining.. Other than who was picking up Taco's after the game what was up with the jawing between Bolding and the coach in the 4th on the sidelines?
Heated momentsNot everyone was congratulating offensive coordinator Todd Haley on his play calling Sunday. On the team's game-winning drive, the television broadcast showed receiver Anquan Boldin in a heated exchange with Haley.Boldin declined comment about it after the game, and Haley called it "a heat of the moment" situation."We changed personnel groups out there and I put Steve Breaston in for (Boldin)," Haley said, "and he was upset about it."
I can't believe this doens't have its own thread. Boldin was pissed he got pulled when the O was moving around receivers. Boldin left the stadium directly after the game ended. He refused interviews. There will be a meltdown about this soon.Other than who was picking up Taco's after the game what was up with the jawing between Bolding and the coach in the 4th on the sidelines?
