NFCCG: Packers at Falcons Discussion (2 Viewers)

I think this game is a barnburner right from the start! Both teams are dialed in to move the ball. Both defenses are suspectible. It will be like clockwork moving the ball with pinpoint precision accuracy. I expect perhaps one punt each per half and then it all comes down to scoring TD's or settling for FG's? Holding a team to a FG can seem like a minor victory. Both teams will score 30 or more.

Culture sides with Green Bay and scoring consistency sides with Atlanta. Atlanta has the better backfield. Julio Jones must come up big for Atlanta to win, whereas, Rodgers just seems to find the open guy. His scrambling out of the pocket ability is all-world right now.  It appears Jordy will be on the field. GB knows it's win now and move on or go home. Players will be playing with injuries that would otherwise sit.

I honestly cannot pick a winner.

I'll say 30-30 at the end of regulation.

Active but not healthy.

I'll expect a slow game in the first quarter sort of the warmup portion of the game.  The second half should be almost as much fun as last week.
I disagree, probably see GB get down early. it'll be a shootout later. Heart says GB but brain says ATL

Do you think the Falcons get off to a quick lead?  Possible, but I'd expect to see a large amount of Freeman/Coleman early.

The thing I do not hear folks discussing is special teams.  With Green Bay having to shuffle both offense and defense who do they have to cover kicks? I could easily see disarray in that phase of the game.

Anyhow, no excuses.  Things aren't ideal, but they are what they are. Sometimes having nothing to lose can be an advantage.  Go Pack.  Just please Lord, no more injuries.

Aggregate scoring totals for all remaining teams after the first quarter of their 2016 games:

NE: 144 points for, 35 points allowed = +109 points = +6.4 ppg
ATL: 139 points for, 75 points allowed = +64 points = +3.8 ppg
PIT: 115 points for, 72 points allowed = +43 points = +2.4 ppg
GB: 100 points for, 88 points allowed = +12 points = +0.7 ppg

So N.E. closes and the Packers hang on by the skin of their teeth.

Seems you may have phrased something wrong in your post thought.  I mean it seems to read that N.E. only score 144 points during the last three quarters of their games over the 16 week schedule.

Nice facts Anarchy99, now will this trend continue for Green Bay? You gotta believe they know they must keep pace or face the catch up role. I would trust ATL being able to score early, often and easily. How Green Bay plays early may dictate the winner. Green Bay has been living on the edge and sooner or later reality sets in. Atlanta is a 5 1/2 - 6 point favorite for a reason. Home team playing well.

Is it another skin of their teeth win for Green Bay?

All this talk of high scoring..

I get the feeling its a 13-10 type of game. We are discounting the defenses almost entirely. Pack can stop the run and atl can get after the qb..

Wouldnt be shocked to see a grinding low scoring 'play it  close to the vest' kind of  affair..
I never do this but I think I have to bump this after the game because it's so insane.

Anybody have a Rollins update?
limited practice on Friday. good sign. no idea about yesterday. Burnett also practiced Friday limited.

I am pretty sure Rollins had to have been cleared from the concussion protocol to practice at all... been a while since I had a chance to talk with the MD who created the concussion protocol (brilliant guy) so I'm not exactly sure. my notes are at work. regardless, good sign if he's participating at all. I was quite confident he'd be active this week

I agree. the only ways that score holds true are:

1. major injuries on boths sides at the qb position

2. horribly sloppy play on both sides

of both defenses suddenly grow a pair then I may go out and buy a lottery ticket

so our plan at RB today if Michael can't go is Ty Montgomery and the Ripper? Cobb... our only healthy wr... being the next man up? oh boy.

this team is held together by glue, band-aids, and hopes/dreams.

something has to give, right?

I had positive thoughts until the runs started making their way through the locker room (thanks Jordy) and Rodgers caught it

I know if the Packers win today I'll be elated and amazed. But if they lose, at first it will be depressing, but looking back at it really is a remarkable run given all the injuries and adversity.

Wilde and others kept saying he had not officially been cleared (I think MM as well);

There are things they can do on a limited basis I think while still in the protocol.

The thought was he has been so close for a while and practicing on a limited basis all the way back to before last week's game.  That they would "clear" him today.

Still have not heard it.

Agreed...have gone in thinking any week could be the last already.  It has been remarkable watching them put together this run and fun to watch.  And hell yes I want more.

But if it ends...will be a fun ride to look back on after that intitial..."oh #### its over" moment.

My niece lives about an hour south of Chicago - in Bear country. She is in charge of their church sign and the only one with a key. She put up on the sign:

God doesn't play favorites but the sign maker does - Go Packers!

Currently trending on Twitter under the moments section - This Weeks Church Signs

Sounds like all WRs will be available today along with Christine Michael - he completed his workout in front of the trainers with a backflip so I guess he's good to go.

Fairly confident that "getting through a full practice without recurrence of symptoms" is the last stage of the protocol, as there have been players this season in protocol who have practiced and are then held out by the independent neurologist.  Can't recall exactly who, but so recall it happening a few times this year.  L. Green may have been one of these...

ACTIVE for #Packers:
Jordy Nelson
Davante Adams
Geronimo Allison
Morgan Burnett
Quinten Rollins
Christine Michael

Rooting for ATL today, but put some money on GB because the line was too good.  GB winning by less than 4 is going to be a real kick in the pants today.

Is it just me, or is Atlanta's LT lining up WAY behind the LOS? He's like 2 yards behind the LOS on every snap. Pretty sure that's illegal formation. Even the LG is a good 1-1.5 yards behind the line on most snaps.
