NFL trade rumors: Who are you stashing in case they are moved? ...Who would you pick up as they fill the void? (4 Viewers)

As a Dolphin fan it is fun to see the Bills become the next in line after Brady leaves, the Pats find their QB before we do, and the jets get more rebuild pieces when we are trying to do the sae thing...SHEEESH!

I guess if they are doing it with a longer term plan in mind I get it a bit more, but the Cowboys making these trades like it will give them a chance to be a contender seems a bit nutty to me.

I wish Washington could get these picks the Jets now have. But when you hire an idiot like Ron Rivera who absolutely killed our talent and depth because of horrible draft picks...well, you are where we are. :wall:

agreed. I guess jerry the drama queen wants to look like he is doing something, but they still have no corners.

Lile to see the details on that williams trade
2026 second, 2027 first and Mazi Smith.
2027 1st makes it a little less bad for Dallas.
Agree, but at the same time that looks like an outstanding class and I like it more for the Jets especially since they likely don't need to trade up if they want a QB in this year's class. So they could in theory get a QB with their first and still have the extra second and 4 firsts. Really think what the Jets are doing is ideal, its' the kind of thing I'd do if this was Madden Franchise mode but you rarely see NFL teams really tear it down like this.

Today feels like when free agency opens up. News cycle is wild.

Also Shefter just reported that Jets get option of Green Bay or Dallas first round pick in 27. Was earlier reported it was Dallas first but this is better, never know what can happen.

Great for the Jets. I hate that though. Teams should have to pick now. What happens if Dallas wants to trade 1 of those picks between now and then?

Great question. I can only assume this handicaps them and they can't trade one now.

Unless the Jets get their choice.....if there is a choice to be had. The wording could be that way.

ETA: Or the Jets could get the choice if Dallas makes another trade and tells them which pick they can trade.

Really surprised by nothing out of Tennessee yet. Pollard, Ridley, Okonkwo, Zeitler.

No Browns either, with Ford, Njoku, any of Bitonio/Pocic/Teller/Conklin, who are all impending FAs.

Thought we might see more Dolphins as well. Just Phillips so far. Achane was always a pipe dream, and Waddle likely was as well, but Chubb or Minkah?

Really no RB market at all it seems.

Breece wants to be traded. "Wants to be out" Only an hour left to do it.

As the saying goes, you can want in one had, :poop: in the other...
Breece tweet after Sauce and Quinnen were traded.

I really hope he gets his wish
Honestly if they only want a 3rd, Chiefs would be morons not to give that.

Jakobi Meyers to JAX
That’s underwhelming but could be the biggest deal.
Underwhelming is the Pats adding free agent Brendon Rice (son of Jerry) as practice squad filler given Boutte's hamstring issue. Pretty much confirms NE won't be making a big WR play.

Pundits say edge or RB is what NE is shopping for, but not a big name.

Pundits also say LV may not be done selling off pieces...TE Michael Mayer to NE please (a quality third TE is needed).
I'm hearing Tony Pollard to NE, and Rhamondre maybe going on IR for the toe.

Nothing final yet, but that's what I'm hearing.

ETA: Have heard some Mayer to Green Bay chatter as well.

Pollard to NE is an interesting rabbit hole.

The web first talked about Ridley to NE and then Pollard to NE starting in earnest a week ago. Reddit has a whole thread about it started by someone with a 5 month old account who swears the "deal is done" but the thread is also including the rumor that the owner has a "no way will we help Vrable" mentality.

Per Mike Giardi “I was also told there has been some conversation league-wide that Tennessee might be unwilling to make deals with New England because the owner, Amy Adams Strunk, continues to think too much about how things ended with Vrabel and is not inclined to help his new team. We'll find out soon enough with the likes of edge Arden Key, RB Tony Pollard, and even WR Calvin Ridley available.”

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Would be a great trade.

It would be really stupid ownership, to not trade with Vrabel out of pettiness. Also, didn't they fire him? If anyone is petty, shouldn't it be Vrabel?

Breece is def getting traded too—why would they keep him at this point
I guess the logic would be the same as with Wilson. If you are acquiring all this capital for your long-term QB, it makes some sense to have weapons for said QB. There has extension talk for Hall, though we'll see if he's even interested in that.

he clearly doesn’t want to stay,
and unless they tag/overpay him, he’s signing elsewhere.

2027 draft: Ryan Williams, Jeremiah Smith, Dylan Stewart. Some very good QBs, including the Manning kid. It's early.

>>Another thing to note—Scouts are already grousing on the quality of the top of the 2026 draft ... 2027, on the other hand, will likely have Jeremiah Smith, Ryan Williams, Dylan Stewart, Collin Simmons and Leonard Moore in it, and some promising QBs will be eligible then, too.<<

Let's not leave out Adonai Mitchell when talking about the Sauce Gardner deal, that's a guy who could absolutely be the Jets #2 WR. He gets open easily, he's just got issues with concentration and consistency, 2 things that could be fixed by more playing time. He was a 2024 2nd round pick, so in my eyes, the Jets just got a fortune for Sauce Gardner. Essentially 2 1sts and a 2nd, for a non-QB is basically unheard of for someone who is already on a pretty big contract.

Love this move for the Jets. For the Colts...I don't know. Sauce is an excellent CB, but he's Revis or peak Ramsey. He's more top-5ish than complete shutdown guy.
Totally agree.

AD's a mistake prone knucklehead and that's how it is. But he's talented, maybe even gifted, and now he's on a team that will be willing to live with his mistakes, have little to no choice to make him the WR2, and will likely need to pass all day every day since they just dismantled what little on the team was any good.

Way this team is rolling I won't be shocked if he's the WR1 in the next few hours either.
Garrett Wilson is the type of guy who could absolutely swing things for some team. Who makes sense? If NY deals in division, NE and Buf both make sense, and one would think they wouldn't care about dealing in division as they obviously aren't expecting to be contending anytime soon.

Outside the division, tougher to see who would give up what I assume would be at least a 1st for a WR. Denver? Pittsburgh (feels unlikely, but Wilson has experience with Rodgers, who they've said they want back next year) darkhorse...maybe Tampa? Doesn;t sound like McMillan will be back this season, maybe Evans/Godwin are in worse condition than we know, and they could go with Wilson/Egbuka going forward?
Credible people I follow are all putting the kabosh on Wilson getting traded.

Apparently most of the league thought like us and thought they had an opening to go after him but were told he's untouchable, that he's central to helping their new QB.

I'm always 50-50 on that.

Does untouchable mean untouchable, or does it mean offer us a lot more?

I think it means that while almost no one is truly untouchable, they have zero interest in moving him.

Was actually just having the same thought specifically regarding the Titans, Browns and the RB market.

For the Titans especially IMO to be doing nothing is malpractice and I just say them specifically because of the parts they have.

Maybe this means we are going to get an awesome 20 minutes coming up....

Does make some sense, but on the surface sure seems like they've burned their bridges with Breece after extending Wilson/Sauce and all the talk about Allen/Davis.

But maybe now the Jets are thinking that with the money they've saved moving Sauce & Q they can throw a big enough extension at Breece to make him want to stay. Lots of bad blood gets forgotten quickly if the $$$ is big enough.

He’s not Glenn’s guy and never has been—would be shocked if he’s there next year

Pretty sure I remember hearing once that conditional picks are locked up. You can't do anything with them until their status is clarified.

I think the example I heard was more of the "You get a second rounder if he plays 95% of snaps, otherwise a third" variety, but I would imagine the same logic would apply to the Dallas pick
