NHL Season Thread: TB wins and Kucherov loves beer (2 Viewers)

The panthers appear to be very mad that they are not as good as the lightning. Lot of dirty cheap shots.
That’s a Joel Quenneville team trademark. He won a few Stanley Cups in Chicago that way, but the Lightning are not going to fall into that trap.

The hit on Sergachev was pretty clean (he got hit literally as he was passing the puck), but the slash on Kucherov was really cheap.

Penguins mail it in for game 4 as apparently they were at the strip clubs all night.  Lazy selfish Malkin & lazy selfish letang finally showed up..Took 4 games but I knew they would appear.

Huh? Did you watch those Chicago teams at all?

It’s absolutely comical hearing Panthers fans call Sergachev dirty, especially after they run at any player wearing blue yesterday. It’s also obvious that the refs need a glasses prescription that rivals Hubble in strength, because how in Grabthar’s name do they call Kucherov for goalie interference when he got pushed into the goalie? It’s like having the Three Stooges out there in stripes, but at least they’d make people laugh!

Six empty goals by the Avs in four games has to be a playoff record, no?

The Blues basically had no shot to win this series.  The Avs should win the Cup considering their talent, how well they play as a team, how protected their stars are, and how good they are defensively.  Good luck to other teams in trying to win four out of seven against that squad this spring.

not surprised that Bruins are poised to win series.  I am surprised series didn't go at least 6. And even more surprised at how lifeless Caps looked last 2 games.

(aside from that last flurry on the PP)

They looked like a team that never recovered from the way they lost Game 3 (their goalie having his head up his ### on the OT goal).

What I’m surprised by is the non-post of the “Capitals are Choking Dogs” column.

Florida starting three different goalers by the 5th game of the series, that has to be some kind of record
I beg to differ.  Happy Gil...er, the Washingon Capitals, accomplished that feat in the 3rd game of their series.

(Vanecek in Gm 1, Anderson in Gm 2, Samsonite in Gm 3. )

ETA: The banner commemorating this will be raised at the Caps 2021-2022 home opener.

lol, forgot Vanecek played period 1.

certainly some kind of record for doing it when all three remain healthy.  how many years left on Bob's contract, 15?

Canada starts out Worlds with losses to Latvia, USA, and Germany scoring a total of two goals combined.  man did they ever luck out there's no relegation round this year.

The Lightning have their first chance to close out the series tonight, albeit in Sunrise. Vasilevskiy is in net(because they want to win), both Sergachev and Kucherov are in the lineup after a couple of cheap shots last game, and as long as the Lightning stick to their plan, they should close it out. It’s been an interesting series, but any more and the Bolts risk injuries.

Bob not even dressing

@drosennhl: Spencer Knight starts and Chris Driedger backs up, which means Sergei Bobrovsky isn't dressing for Game 5. Keith Yandle is back, replacing Markus Nutivaara. Nikita Kucherov and Mikhail Sergachev are fine and in the Lightning lineup, which has 11 forwards and 7 D.

First goalie EVER to play in the NCAA and #StanleyCup Playoffs in the same season

Also, has the possibility of becoming most likely the first goalie ever to lose back-to-back elimination games less than two months apart.

Pens completely dominating the islanders all game only to be tied at 2. I think 1st isles shot of the 3rd period went in halfway through the period.

And Jarry comes out of the net to center a perfect pass to an islander to lose in 2nd ot. Another early exit for the pens, as they WILL  fold in game 6.

Another double OT lost by a dumb goalie mistake
Caps went through the motions the next 2 games after the Samsonov debacle. Wonder if Pens reaction will be similar after losing game they dominated in SOG and head to a road elimination game.
