Nipsey Sings Karaoke - Still The Same 06-04-20 (1 Viewer)

Wow - nice editting.

1) The beginning (Picture Book) and ending (Moonshadow) rock - both strong performances, both irt to song choice & execution (sing'n)

2) The interior parts that are my favs -

            a) Tribute: I really liked the interpretation - yet soooo close to Jack as well

            b) Brown Eyed Girl: as I said earlier the growl'y timbre is great - catches the spirit perfectly

3) Rest is great too, but the above is what stood out to me the most.

Keep up the sing'n man...great stuff.

I'm gonna catch up here too - I was busy with house derby week guests today and then play'n in shuke-land.

later

I have a Tenacious D poker story

About 10-15 years ago I get invited to Kyle's home poker game. I have some friends that have a college connection to The D and Kyle was light that night so sent out a call for more players. I get the call, pick up some beer (Budweiser kingers!) and head over. There are 12 players. I know 3 of them. One player is an A-List (or close to A-list) movie star. A few other famous-ish actors. I sit next to Kyle on his right. Buy-in is $300. NL hold'em. I had never met Kyle. On the very first hand I'm dealt Jack clubs-Queen clubs. Some pre-flop action that I call. Maybe 5-6 in to see the flop. Flop is King clubs-Ten clubs-blank. I flop an open ended royal straight flush draw! First hand! I had pounded a few beers pretty quick when i got there just because I'm at Kyle's house and there are a few famous people there. Everyone is having a good time. I see the post flop action don't try to push it. The turn is a blank. Someone makes a small bet and gets a few callers. I decide to make my move here and raise $100. Only a-list movie star is behind me. He's a terrible player, i can tell this before we even sit down to play. After my bet he immediately pushes all in. Everyone folds and it's back to me. I have to call but I know I'm an obvious dog. He has a big hand. I know i'm going to call but it's the first hand so i drag it out for a second. Smile to my friends like I can't believe I'm going to lose my buy-in on hand #1. I say to Kyle, "you can't believe what i have", knowing I'm going to call. Kyle leans over as to ask for a peek. I show him my cards. He kind of half groans but doesn't say anything. I was always calling I just couldn't believe crappy player behind me caught a hand. At this point A-list actor FREAKS OUT! Screaming about me showing my cards, about me being coached. Guy has to be worth 8 figures back then, maybe pushing 9 figures now. I tell him to relax, flip my cards over and say i was always calling. I'm priced in at this point. He flopped a set. River was a blank and I lost my $300 buy-in on the first hand. I didn't bring enough for another $300 buy-in, I think I was short $100 and Kyle slid me over me the difference.
Story tell'n is my absolute favorite part of FBG's.

Awesome story; sorry ya lost, but story/experience is worth more than $300 imo.

I bet you have some really cool stories - keep type'n em!

I've been lazy for not editing medleys lately. Some of the earlier medleys are gold.

12/30/18  stone cold sober to begin, completely wasted by the end    https://clyp.it/hjyv4ujd

12/30

Centerfold - my blood runs cold hooo000 = wonderful

Jack & Diane - really wonderful!

I remember being at an 8th grade party, when a girl that I had a major crush on, sat on the lap of my friend. I was soooo jealous, and - then - this song came on!!!!

Years later, I came to find out that she was doing it to make me jealous.

One day, I hope to understand these types of things...☹️

Love the start, Bowie is awesome, and Ziggy Stardust was one of my 1st albums; Starman is one of my fav of all his songs too.

You nailed him - really - one of my favs of yours to date.

Baby - when I think about you - I think about luuuuv... = good. Even tho the song was a few years old at the time (79), my 1st girlfriend bought me this album for my birthday + two Snoopy lapel pins. I still have one (Snoopy throw'n a football - I lost the other one where he is holding a basketyball.)

Rocky Raccoon is nice. It is one of the few Beatles songs kinda in my range. I practiced it a bit last month, but have not since. I may try again - regardless of what K thinks, I like that song!

Send lawyers, guns and money... = always a wise strategy - also well done.

Cuts like a knife = very solid. I have to admit that I not a big Bryan Adams fan, but I like this song; and also: I Wanna Be Your Underwear --- you should do the underwear part.

she lies and says shes in love with him = beautiful

Against the Wind = great opening - AND - oddly enough, the very same girlfriend that gave me Bad Company album in '79, gave me this very album as a gift also - right b4 we broke up. It's a shame really - she gave such awesome gifts. Ha!

Danny's Song = wonderful - no stories bout it tho - sorry.

I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For = haunting

41 second mark = I do not know what song this is, but I like it.

Cat Stevens - Wild World = OH MAN! That is really great!

Stone Temple Pilots = 👍👍

Alison = 🙂🙂 - this Elvis rocks too.

Tom Petty = 🤘🤘

Cranberries = fabulis finish.

Not sure if you've done this.  Requesting Road House Blues - The Doors.

And Counting Crows - Mr Jones.  (I thing you've done that.)

Do you like the microphone and just need to configure a stand?  Or are you thinking you'll upgrade the mic, too?  I'm sorry if I'm asking stupid questions.  I know nothing of this.  Seems like a stand would be easy to get, but I know there's more to it than that.

If available, Anna Begins would be a great alternative in the event Mr. Jones was already done.

Microphone is great but it just sits on the desk. There's a stand but it's just so it stands on the desk. It has to be on the desk because that's the only way my commuter speakers could sit next to it and play the instrumental track into it.

Hmmm, this is a quandary.

Have you done any Hall & Oates?  Seems like a good fit.

Bryan Ferry-related songs?  More Than This, Love Is the Drug, Avalon, Slave to Love, or what have you?

If you're still alive, more Squeeze?  If I Didn't Love You? Or a redo of Black Coffee in Bed (which I've just learned tim thinks is about coffee)?

I promise not to tell my Glenn Tilbrook story.  Nah, I totally don't promise that.

ETA:  You'd also be great at "Goodbye Girl."

Appreciate it. Not much action in the thread tonight. Probably doing it too often. Thanks to you and @WDIK2 for the love tonight.
I been all tied up with Derby Week.

I am sad I missed this in real time, cause you were tuned to the max. Everything was great.

Also, I vote that you are not doing it too often - just don't do it when I am at the race track & after parties.

👍

Regarding new title:

Nice, but I checked the 1st post, and I must say that in the entire history of singing, there may have been a few more songs sung.

🤔

I like the oversell though.

It has the grandiosity needed!

👍
