							Wow - nice editting.
Story tell'n is my absolute favorite part of FBG's.I have a Tenacious D poker story
About 10-15 years ago I get invited to Kyle's home poker game. I have some friends that have a college connection to The D and Kyle was light that night so sent out a call for more players. I get the call, pick up some beer (Budweiser kingers!) and head over. There are 12 players. I know 3 of them. One player is an A-List (or close to A-list) movie star. A few other famous-ish actors. I sit next to Kyle on his right. Buy-in is $300. NL hold'em. I had never met Kyle. On the very first hand I'm dealt Jack clubs-Queen clubs. Some pre-flop action that I call. Maybe 5-6 in to see the flop. Flop is King clubs-Ten clubs-blank. I flop an open ended royal straight flush draw! First hand! I had pounded a few beers pretty quick when i got there just because I'm at Kyle's house and there are a few famous people there. Everyone is having a good time. I see the post flop action don't try to push it. The turn is a blank. Someone makes a small bet and gets a few callers. I decide to make my move here and raise $100. Only a-list movie star is behind me. He's a terrible player, i can tell this before we even sit down to play. After my bet he immediately pushes all in. Everyone folds and it's back to me. I have to call but I know I'm an obvious dog. He has a big hand. I know i'm going to call but it's the first hand so i drag it out for a second. Smile to my friends like I can't believe I'm going to lose my buy-in on hand #1. I say to Kyle, "you can't believe what i have", knowing I'm going to call. Kyle leans over as to ask for a peek. I show him my cards. He kind of half groans but doesn't say anything. I was always calling I just couldn't believe crappy player behind me caught a hand. At this point A-list actor FREAKS OUT! Screaming about me showing my cards, about me being coached. Guy has to be worth 8 figures back then, maybe pushing 9 figures now. I tell him to relax, flip my cards over and say i was always calling. I'm priced in at this point. He flopped a set. River was a blank and I lost my $300 buy-in on the first hand. I didn't bring enough for another $300 buy-in, I think I was short $100 and Kyle slid me over me the difference.
Love this

Don't do the crime, if ya can't do the time... =

 - Jack White is one of my very favs, and - imo - hard to sing. For me, his cadence is hard to learn - don't know why.

Love the start, Bowie is awesome, and Ziggy Stardust was one of my 1st albums; Starman is one of my fav of all his songs too.
My brother in law made this video for school back in the day:I was sitting here watching the video when you posted this. Such a GREAT song.
Awesome!
Agreed.Awesome!
Against the Wind = great opening - AND - oddly enough, the very same girlfriend that gave me Bad Company album in '79, gave me this very album as a gift also - right b4 we broke up. It's a shame really - she gave such awesome gifts. Ha!

Wow this is professional
Amazing.
Haha. Those are sound blankets and Bella wishes I had those. I just wish I could stand up and sing.Amazing.
Step one: have you any quilts?
Which microphone are you using?Haha. Those are sound blankets and Bella wishes I had those. I just wish I could stand up and sing.
Do you like the microphone and just need to configure a stand? Or are you thinking you'll upgrade the mic, too? I'm sorry if I'm asking stupid questions. I know nothing of this. Seems like a stand would be easy to get, but I know there's more to it than that.
If available, Anna Begins would be a great alternative in the event Mr. Jones was already done. Not sure if you've done this. Requesting Road House Blues - The Doors.
And Counting Crows - Mr Jones. (I thing you've done that.)
Microphone is great but it just sits on the desk. There's a stand but it's just so it stands on the desk. It has to be on the desk because that's the only way my commuter speakers could sit next to it and play the instrumental track into it.Do you like the microphone and just need to configure a stand? Hmmm, this is a quandary.Microphone is great but it just sits on the desk. There's a stand but it's just so it stands on the desk. It has to be on the desk because that's the only way my commuter speakers could sit next to it and play the instrumental track into it.
I can't find the instrumental version. Not sure if you've done this. Requesting Road House Blues - The Doors.
I get it. How about LA Woman?I can't find the instrumental version.
That was fantastic. I realized after mentioning it that it's tough, but you got it. Just great.
Have you done any Hall & Oates? Seems like a good fit.
Bryan Ferry-related songs? More Than This, Love Is the Drug, Avalon, Slave to Love, or what have you?
If you're still alive, more Squeeze? If I Didn't Love You? Or a redo of Black Coffee in Bed (which I've just learned tim thinks is about coffee)?
I promise not to tell my Glenn Tilbrook story. Nah, I totally don't promise that.
ETA: You'd also be great at "Goodbye Girl."
The vocal is perfect.I ####ed up the lyric (rich instead of b itch) but it'll never sound better than that take.
I been all tied up with Derby Week.Appreciate it. Not much action in the thread tonight. Probably doing it too often. Thanks to you and @WDIK2 for the love tonight.
