Nominate Your Worst Beer Here (1 Viewer)

Some of these nominations are ridiculous. Bud, Bud Light, Purple Haze? The WORST beers ever? Come on.

That said, Steel Reserve is a great nomination and will get my vote. If I see Heineken or any of the beers I mentioned turn up in the final poll, so help me God, NO DRINKING STORIES!!
Dude, Bud is freaking terrible. Tastes awful and gives the worst ### #### hangovers ever. I'd rather drink the Beast than Bud. No shtick.
Budweiser in a bottle is terrible and absolutely my least favourite beer, it's marginally better on draft in my experience.

I hate IPAs, too. I don't like pine-needled flavored anything.
how many different ipa's you tried?
Dogfish headSouthern Tier

All the Sam Adams IPA's

I've never had one I liked. They all taste terrible. It's a matter of opinion not fact.
I think Sam Adams only has one IPA :)
They've got Latutude 48 (unless its discontinued) and a new Rebel IPA. Haven't had it yet though.

A lot. I'd say my favorite so far has been Lagunitas. Founders is okay. I also used to drink Dogfish's 90 Minute without complaint.

Every time I go to a microbrewery and get an IPA, I generally dislike it more than their other offerings.

Just an observation. My favorite beers are Kolschs and Belgian beers; Kolschs are fairly rare. Reissdorf would be my Bud, if I could afford to that. Sam made a good kolsch a few years back.

Try a Racer 5 or a Stone IPA if you get a chance.

Lagunitas is one of my favorite IPAs.

They have rebel IPA that's new. Lat 48. And whitewater IPA.
I believe they have some other ones too. The winter pack had a juniper IPA. I think they have a double ipa and maybe even a couple others.

Good to know. I'll try them when I get a chance. I see Stone all the time.

I think that hoppy beers are an acquired taste for most people to some extent, but once your palate adjusts, you can really taste the nuances of different IPAs, etc., and not be overwhelmed by the hops.

Agreed. Black Label's lone thing going for it was being dirt cheap. Too bad it tasted like dirt.

Black Label was so bad that it made MGD the best beer tasting experience I can remember. Think Eddie Murphy in "Raw" going on about a Ritz cracker...that's the jump in flavor from BL to MGD in the same night.

Nominations closed. We got our 16. We actually got 18, but I axed Bud Lit and Miller Lite and kept Miller High Life and Budweiser.

I'll fire up some polls later. /nogay.

You guys seriously like Sam Adams Cherry Wheat?

And having the High Life on here is downright unamerican.

It had one mention that I objected to for a net 0, SACW is still at a -1 if I need to get all statistical.

I have a neighbor that went on a quest to find me a beer that I couldn't finish. I'm a sponge; I'll absorb anything with booze and have proudly downed crappy beers from coast to coast and south to north. He brought over Old English, I sucked it down. Milwaukee's Best Ice? Rather enjoyable. Mickeys? Gone in 60 seconds.

And then he brought over THIS. And try as I might, I could not finish it. It smelled like dirty sock mating with a moldy teabag. It tasted even worse. So if nobody has claimed this one (I've not read the entire thread), please include Camo Black Ice into the mix for worst beer.

I refuse to believe that you've never tasted a worse beer than Budweiser. Flat-out refuse.

Budweiser was considered "good" beer when we were in college. It's my dad's beer of choice and I've had probably several thousand of them in my life. I don't enjoy Bud anymore, but will drink it if that's all there is. There's much worse out there.

MUCH. I just read your post about that Camo Black - I guaran-f###-ingtee that's infinitely worse than Bud or Miller High Life. First off, just within their own families of beers - Natural Ice is FAR more objectionable than Budweiser. And Miller Genuine Draft and Miller 64 are much worse than Miller High Life.

If you're going to choose a popular US lager as the worst ever, at least have the decency to choose Coors Light. That's almost not even beer.

This is how bad Steel Reserve is:

A can of it it sat in my refrigerator untouched for a month when I lived with my brothers.

Chibuku -

You really should try Chibuku, known colloquially as "Shake Shake." Stored and drank warm out of one liter milk carton-like containers, I defer to Wikipedia for the description: "This thick brown millet beer costs less than a dollar and it is shaken vigorously before drinking it because of its thick layer of sediment collected on the bottom of the carton. It has a powerful yeast flavor that is offset by a lemony tang, surprising given the color. When the liquid has been consumed and you reach the bottom of the carton, standard practice is to slurp up the pile of sludge that remains." The carton proclaims, "It's hygienic." Apparently, it goes without saying it tastes like an alcoholic porridge of death. Wikipedia notes, "It is thought to be a drink for lower-class people." All I can say is it certainly is popular in some segments of society here in Malawi, which shows you the country has larger problems than Madonna.
* drops mic *

For whatever reason Steel City Beer is the worst I can remember.

I've had a wide variety of microbrews and every so often there's one with some combo that just seems like a horrible idea.

I'm not a beer snob. I like what I like and it's not craft brews or seasonal ales. By far the worst for me is Heineken. :yucky:

I like Coors Light because I can drink a dozen of them and still function. On a hot day, it goes down smoothly, especially if it's ice cold (AND THANK GOD THEY INVENTED A CAN TO TELL YOU WHEN IT'S COLD!!!! THINK OF THOSE OF US WHO HAVE LOST OUR SENSE OF FEEL!!!!)

But I defy somebody to finish a can of Camo Black Ice and not rank it among the worst of the worst.

Well, yea I've tasted worse. Golden Anniversary comes to mind. But Bud is pretty bad.

I second the Olympia vote. When I was 22 I got a case free. It was a Saturday night and the only thing I had in my fridge was Olympia and milk. I couldn't even finish the first beer, the only time I've ever thrown beer away.

Carlings Black Label is pretty nasty. In college, at a time when Keystone was the "wow, look who's parent sent them $" beer, we had a $6 case of Black Label linger in our fridge for over a month.

Old Style is pretty bad too.

Is it too late to nominate Busch Light?
You shut your whore mouth.
I remember thinking Busch Light was the absolute worst back in college when I was regularly drinking different varieties of cheap garbage beer.

Steel Reserve might not taste great (or even decent really), but at least it got the job done unlike all these other ##### sub-5% ABV beers. It was my beer of choice for awhile before I got into craft beer.

That Camo Black Ice looks truly awful, but again at 10.5% ABV, I'm willing to give it a little more leeway on taste than a 4.2% ABV Busch Light.

It would be kind of interesting to do a blind taste test of all of these beers and see how many people can pick out their BMC brand of choice.

Gleuk hack stein ice is the worst beer I've tried hands down. Makes natty ice taste like chimay.

My brothers and I did a "worst beer in America" blind taste-off to do exactly what you mention. However, I am not going to tell you people about it.

Regarding the hackstein, it sold for 3.97 a case when I was in college ten years ago. It was so bad that we played a game with it: six of us had to drink a case during the course of one Tarantino movie. The guy who didn't drink his share had to buy the next case and the game had to be re-played. It was so awful we finally just quit.

Hey... blame Flysack. I warned him, no stories in this thread unless Bud and Miller High Life were removed, he blatantly put them in. What can I do now? THERE MUST BE CONSEQUENCES !!!!!!!!!!!! :banned:
