Maybe skeletor is playing games again or the earlier report of S. Young being the #2 was bogus. Here is the official DEN Depth Chart.

Don't go out and make the BIG trade for Mr. Young just yet.

I gave up Larry Johnson for him earlier today, was that a bad move? I'm really sold on the Denver system, they always pull rabbits out of their hats. I also am fearful that LJ won't be running angry this year and he'll flop because of that, he got his money so he's going to be too happy to run hard. I hope it pays off in the end.

Wise move, he has so much more upside in dynasty leagues. If re-draft, you might get called out for collusion.... :excited:

Broncos First Depth Chart Has Many Surprises

Andrew Mason, DenverBroncos.com - [Full Article]

The Denver Broncos' official website reports the Broncos first depth chart reflecting the 53-man roster was issued Monday morning, and, as with the depth charts throughout the preseason, it doesn't necessarily reflect the order in which Broncos took the field throughout the August slate of games, although it does reflect the absence of the players that were released in the last six days.According to the initial 53-man depth chart for the Denver Broncos, WR Brandon Stokley is ahead of WE Brandon Marshall -- and that is not the only surprise. At RB, Selvin Young is fifth, with RBs Cecil Sapp and Mike Bell ahead of him. At TE, Tony Scheffler is third behind TEs Daniel Graham and Stephen Alexander.

Boy am I regretting drafting Henry. This is a mess.

Anyone have an opinion on who has the most talent here? I have to imagine it's Mike Bell given what we saw last year. IMO he's the guy to have.

For those that don't know, our own blogger has this same info....no need to go to a competing site to get your news.

Cecil Sapp-RB- Broncos Sep. 3 - 1:39 pm et

Cecil Sapp is listed as the Broncos' No. 2 running back on their post-cuts depth chart.

Sapp is listed ahead of Mike Bell at tailback, and Selvin Young is fifth. The Denver beat writers say Young is second and Bell and Sapp are fullbacks. This may just be Mike Shanahan playing tricks with the depth chart again.

Mike Bell, RB DEN

News: According to the Denver Post, the Broncos have no plans to trade RB Mike Bell after moving him to FB. The Broncos want Bell to rotate with Cecil Sapp at FB with the No. 1 offense. And they also want Bell as tailback protection for starter Travis Henry. The Broncos are pleased with their tailback depth with Henry as the starter, rookie Selvin Young as the backup and Andre Hall, who spent his rookie season last year on the Broncos' practice squad, as the No. 3 runner.

Analysis: Bell had 157 carries last year for 677 yards. Young and Hall are hot now, but with patience Bell may have a better chance to get a decent number of carries with the Broncos this year than he would by starting over with a new team. Still consider Bell as the primary backup to Henry, but he might lose carries if Henry goes down to Young and Hall.

So at the end of the day, there is not a serious separation between about 4 guys and which of the guys is 2nd in the pecking order changes everytime someone starts typing or opens his mouth.

You regret drafting Henry because you don't know who the backup is?

This is SHanny at his best , theres only one guy on this team who can really back up Henry and it s MIke Bell that s why they did nt want to move him .

Sapp and Young are actually worthless zero value even if Sapp is listed as the back up .

Henry better be productive right from the sound of the "Bell" or you might have a headache . Just scaring you a bit since you sound a little insecure.

Mike Bell-RB-Broncos Sep. 4 - 10:41 am et

Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that he believes Mike Bell "can be a Pro Bowl fullback" and "can be a special player there."

A depth chart released Monday listed Bell as the No. 2 running back and had Selvin Young fifth, but that's clearly off base. Bell and Cecil Sapp are competing for the fullback job, and Young is the favorite to back up Travis Henry at running back. "I'm just sucking it up and trying to make the best of it," Bell said. "Now, it's my job to win the fullback job."

Making judgments like this is pretty terrible without evidence. Someone might actually take your word for it and be screwed.

This is just a ploy to motivate Selvin Young
 DENVER RB PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: If you plan to handcuff Travis Henry, please make sure your league allows space for every RB on the Denver active roster...plus the practice squad...and including those players cut by other teams that may yet sign with Denver...and all their FBs as well. Or, just pick Henry and move on - leave the Shann-an-aguessing to someone else.

Skeletor just wanted some guppies to run out and jump all over Selvin Young for a week and then drop him. He hates us FFL'ers with a passion.

Posters on DenverBroncos.com's message board say that the new depth chart is nothing more then the old one (dated August 20th) with the names of the players that were cut removed. Nobody who wasn't cut was moved up or down the chart at all.

Mike Bell is a massive pile of nothing special. He's totally replaceable, Olandis Gary v2.0. I really like the kid, I love how hard he works and how badly he wants to make it, and I think he makes a great storyline, but he's really just not anything special.

hate to say it, but I'm getting tired of all the 'who's the backup RB in Denver' talk going on in here lately. Denver has been a wasteland for Rb's since Portis left. The Bells, Droughns, Cobbs, Griffin.. :hophead: with all the tinkering around that Shanahan does, perhaps its just best to steer clear of the Denver offense, outside of Cutler. The TE position has been a wasteland since Sharpe left town. I do think Henry will have a good season, but trusting Mike Shanahan with your #1 or #2 RB , is risky at best..

I'd rather let someone else deal with Henry, or the Denver RB situation as a whole..

If Henry is healthy there is no "situation" - the situation arises when Shanny does not have everything (or anything) he wants, in one back. With Henry he gets that. Now, you can question Henry's health but if he is good to go, the only situation is Henry racking up points.

You've got an awfully funny definition of wasteland. Both Droughns and Anderson were top-10 performers for as long as they were starters.

:football: The reason the Denver backup RB conversation is a worthy one is precisely the point SSOG is making and why we're discussing this.

Selvin Young-RB-Broncos Sep. 7 - 2:08 pm et

The Broncos' team website is now acknowledging that Selvin Young is Denver's clear backup at tailback.

If you've waited to pick him up, this should be all the confirmation you need. The Broncos' beat writers have been saying it for a week, but Mike Shanahan's post-cuts depth chart had Young fifth. Young is roster worthy in all leagues, but don't expect him to be a workhorse if Travis Henry gets hurt.

Uh, did you actually look at the depth chart? It shows Selvin Young as the #2
