Sure I have grabbed a deal along the way as well. That 2 medium two topping deal is hard to beat for work lunches. Of course Charlotte isn't exactly NYC when it comes to pizza.I'll be wrong every once in a while for a large 2-topping pizza for $5.99.It doesn't seem wrong, it is wrong. It's just that you can't walk half a block in NYC without tripping over a decent pizza place. Seems wrong to order Dominoes.Wow you people don't eat fast food out in the corn basket, didn't realize that. My bad.![]()
I'm not gonna lie. I do it.
Chicken Box is superior.Haven't you been to Charlotte? Price's Chicken Coop is the nations best fried chicken. For the REAL NYers and Chicagoans, the real debate is Kennedy's Fried Chicken or Harold's? May need to give Chicago the nod here.
Yep. There is good pizza in both cities. I live in Chicago and deep dish is a once in a time kinda thing for me. Mostly do thin, and there are plenty of great thins in Chicago.I was in Manhattan two Summers ago and had some pizza. It was ####### awesome.
I was in Chicago this past Summer and had Lou Malnati's for the first time. It was ####### awesome.

As is Chicago style.
Now that the pizzamathmagician has weighed in, I think we can lock this one up. Someone get Rudnicki in here. Was in Chicago less than a month ago, that Chicago deep dish stuff is horrible, just awful. Mozzarella cheese doesn't have a lot of favor to begin with but bury it way down under everything and it really is just melted ####, like my cheese to have a nice golden brown look and at least be cooked thru.
We did have a really nice pizza at a place in Wicker Park called Piece, owned by one of the Cheap Trick members. Delicious pie but it wasn't deep dish, more the thin kind.
NY style pizza much better IMHO. Like to fold it over and bite down.
MOP is just scared about how the height of a Chicago deep dish pizza will affect his pizza calculations. I think you missed the thread locking button in your mod panel.other than LHUCKS and maybe GUNZ, who else would want less to be on your side?I'm not even a big Chicago pizza guy. I saw that episode. What is there to get? Pizza is about a lot of things - but the key is the crust. If I wanted an inch of doughy nothingness above my crust I would get a cheap loaf of french bread. That side view shot of their pizza at the 51 second point tells the story. And what is with the scant toppings??? Does the guy have to milk the cows and make the cheese himself?? Geezus - we got more in our ####### Chefboyardee box pizza mixes. Don't get me wrong ...too much on the topping kills the crust, but that is ridiculous.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ocs79_IbJ-g&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DOcs79_IbJ-g

Yup, only one of the most famous and top rated pizza places on Earth bc it is a dough bomb that tastes like Chefboyardee.Yeah, that looks worse than either Chicago or NY style. NYers that swear by this pizza need to be glove slapped to tears and then abused with a basil-rubbed pepperoni until they come to their senses.I saw that episode. What is there to get? I think Lucali's dominates Grimaldis.Grimaldis still delicious though.Gonna have some nice Grimaldi's pizza tomorrow night....I'M EXCITED!
Never heard of them. I'm just happy that I have some solid chains near me (Grimaldi's, Bellacino's, Jet's.).I think Lucali's dominates Grimaldis.Grimaldis still delicious though.Gonna have some nice Grimaldi's pizza tomorrow night....I'M EXCITED!
I've only eaten at Grimaldis in BK Heights and on 6th ave. Lucali's is in Carroll Gardens, number 1 rated pizza in NYC according to Zagat. Calzone is top notch too.http://www.zagat.com/r/lucali-new-yorkNever heard of them. Montreal makes some good bagels too, but I do prefer the ones in NYC myselfI don't think Bagels deserve their own thread, but can we all admit NY is above and beyond the best for them?
They have food in Quebec that isn't poutin?Montreal makes some good bagels too, but I do prefer the ones in NYC myselfI don't think Bagels deserve their own thread, but can we all admit NY is above and beyond the best for them?
This is a pizza thread. Don't bring this #### up again in here.I don't think Bagels deserve their own thread, but can we all admit NY is above and beyond the best for them?
Sometimes, I just want a cheap, fast pizza delivered. People might think every corner of Chicago has excellent pizzerias with cheap pizza delivery, but it's not the case. While there are excellent pizza options nearby (including my favorite deep dish in the city), they're not cheap, and often the wait is an hour or more for delivery.Sure I have grabbed a deal along the way as well.

I know that poor ******* at Dominos will get to my place in 20 minutes or so and I'll be out $15 bucks, if that. I usually order it when it's late and I'm on my way home from the airport. No complaints.
We can still pick on California though
