So first the mascots are pecking away at each other...And now one of them pretends to barfs in a trash can after the Saints score?Did anyone else see that?

 
He's outside the tackles. If a defender's grabbing brooks, its still intentional grounding?

Right, but the defender is on brooks while he's trying to pass. Its kind of like if a defender hits a QB's arm while he's trying to pass. The ball falls down. Incomplete pass. No intentional grounding. :confused:

Has the "in the grasp" rule been changed? I watched a game a few weeks ago with a scrambling QB and he was clearly "in the grasp," yet threw the ball for a completion. -- Mitch Gurick, Orland Park, Ill.The old in-the-grasp rule was changed ten years ago. Under today's NFL rule, in-the-grasp will be ruled only when the quarterback is in the grasp of an opponent, with another opponent bearing down on him. This protects the quarterback from an unnecessary hit by the second man while he is being held by the first man. The old rule killed the play when the quarterback was in the grasp of one player.
 
Surprisingly, the commentator during a Vick game didn't fawn all over the place... and John Dinosaur Madden of all guys... noticed that Roddy White... TOTALLY had to come back for that catch. However, there wasn't any comment on how poor of decision that was by Vick, and an incidental bump by White, and such a fluffy lob by Vick resulted in luck (and White having to come 10 yards off the route to get the ball) kept that from being an INT, not the catch, much less TD it became.However, Vick myopians will just see th 50+ yd passing TD and chalk it up to his stats... awful pass, period.

 
This whole Tim McGraw thing has me wondering...How sick of his/her hit song must a veteran artist be. How many times have they sung that #1 hit?It's gotta be hard to put any energy into that.

 
That pass - even if picked - was as good as a punt - maybe better since the pass went to inside the 10 yard line.

Not an awful pass, it's having trust in your guy to go get it. And at worst you get an INT 50 - 60 yards downfield.

They give him his check BEFORE he sings to remind him what he's getting for his 2 minutes worth of work.That said, the Stones, Prince, Clapton, James Brown, etc., have been singing their biggest hits at every concert for 40 years and don't seem to be bored doing it.

 
Good heart to stay in by the Saints. As last time I can't believe we get what must be the very last Ref squad available. Vick fumble, obvious offensive pass interference on Roddy's TD, and a putrid intentional grounding call (obviously being restrained - Vick never would have been called on that). Saints are hanging in there.

Dont be a hater, VIck is the best QB in the league. You think Manning or Brady would be better on the Falcons!?!? at least Vick can run!!!!!!!

Heh, true.I guess it's like the 59 year old Jerry Rice running a curl route. He's run it 3000 times, but there's always something a little different.

Just something I was thinking about, and figured a boring halftime would be as good a time as any to bring it up.

And a questionable Roughing the passer call on Demorrio when Hall returned for a TD. Also that wasnt a fumble by Vick as the arm was going forward. Watch it in slow-mo.
 
if any other QB threw that pass for the TD to Roddy White, it would've been a guy throwing it up to give his WR a chance to make a playbut since there is such blind hatred for Vick, it was a lucky pass and a terrible decisionthe way people are with Vick is absolutely mind boggling to me

Uh, there's people on one spectrum who thinks Vick can do no wrong and then there's an even more annoying bunch in Vick haters, whom hate at everything he does. Both sets are idiots.

it cuts both ways. the haters on this board criticize it too much, the announcers don't criticize it enough.
 
Vick is keeping my money hopes alive. If Brooks had to throw a TD, he could have at least sent it to Stallworth!I have not seen the Falcons play much this year...though they were better than what they are showing tonight so far.

:goodposting: And he took a SHOT after throwing the ball - I am sure the pass woulda been an INT or Inc if he wasn't about to get drilled - and knowing h ewas taking the shot he was still able to sling the ball 40 yards downfield in a decent enough spot for White to catch the ball.

Demorrio literally punched him. It was pretty obvious. I did watch it in slow mo - he started forward and stopped. Ball came out. Once he stopped it became a fumble.

Vicks getting really frustrated - if Mora Jr. is smart, he'll call a QB draw or some bootleg QB options on this next series and get Vick's head bakc in the game by making him use his legs.That said, a Brooks TD on this drive would make me exceedingly happy.

Speaking of looking stupid.... No one should have Joe Blow on TV doing anything for Snickers. The only thing that makes that "fan" look less dumb is the actual Snickers commercial..

Yeah.... an unproven rookie... so all the other INTs were either the WRs fault, or piss-poor judgement by #7.
 
Ok,I don't like this "getting the ball to the line of scrimmage". Go with a receiver in the area. Who cares if he has a strong enough arm to throw it to the line of scrimmage? He's avoiding the sack, any way you slice it.

At this point, I need 10 points in the second half for a win, standard FF points so, 20 more yards rushing, plus 100 more yards passing, plus 1 more passing TD (4 pt, -1 pt for each INT, so i can't have any INTs from him either) would do it.
