r11 super paid 90k on a buck, so maybe boxing the field's not a bad idea

Thought about it but it costs over $2,400 for a 10 cent super.

I know they give the horses a lot of leeway when they break out of the gate, but the 7 horse came way down. I think if it wasn't the Classic the horse would have been thrown out.

Awful trip for Shared Belief. Really wanted to see him win.

If it wasn't the Classic, if it wasn't Bob Baffert, etc. Granted, bumping happens all of the time and usually in a 20 horse Kentucky Derby at least a handful get bumped leaving the gate, but Bayern went straight sideways. I very rarely see a horse taken down from the break, but this changed the whole outcome of the race. Not only did Bayern take out Shared Belief, probably more importantly he took out his other pace rival, Moreno. So he got an easy lead. No way does Bayern win this without the infraction. Shame.

Not a good day for me at all. Oh well.
