***OFFICIAL*** 2014 Masters thread (1 Viewer)

My local channel is keeping their storm weather screen run on the bottom quarter of my tv. Haven't seen the last several feet of a putt in the last half hour.

Thanks Accuweather.

Great tourney overall. Would have preferred more drama the last 2 hours here.

Really sucks that Couples always lingers and can never make a final day push. That'd have been a good a finish as Spieth running away.

Today is Palm Sunday. We went to church this morning. Apparently the 3-4 year olds learned about the story when Jesus entered Jerusalem on the donkey and the people shouted 'Hosanna!'

My 3 year old just saw Bubba on TV walking through the crowd who were cheering and she said 'They are yelling Hosanna! Hosanna Bubba!'

That was maybe the most boring Masters I can recall. I didn't get to watch much of the first 3 days though.

Bubba's round was worth watching even if it wasn't close. What he did off the tee today was nothing short of golf porn.

What I like about it is he went for broke. Except for 17, which doesn't set up well for him, he used the driver on all the driving holes instead of playing it safe and hitting a 3 wood. At least in this tournament his driver was totally under control, and he drives it further than anyone on tour.

It was a boring back 9 for sure. Nobody made a charge. Blixt said he couldn't get the ball close enough to make any birdies. Course set up too tough. CBS stunk too. They honed in on a Bubba-Spieth duel that never materialized. 56 year old Bernhard finished top 10 and I don't remember them showing him hit a single shot. Too many times they show shots on delay and have the commentators pretend they're describing live action. It's so obvious with a few of them, almost offensive.

Well technically he was done before the broadcast started and shots on delay isn't something new

I stayed tuned in because Bubba has Van De Velve esque meltdown potential, but the way he played after that four shot swing on eight and nine no one was going to catch him unless they started scoring. No one did. Yeah, course was set up hard, but there were birdies out there. The guys chasing Bubba just didn't make shots.

Langer was still on the front 9 when they came on the air. Most of what they show is racked but the pretend shock is a new trend. Feherty's taken it to a new level.

Its amazing how this one little facet of the game, can dominate and trump all others. It leads to a sense of well being on all other shots. The carryover effect is amazing. Confidence rises when your long and in every fairway. If that happens you start making some snake charmer putts and Seve like troubleshots. Thats only if you didn't crisp your irons on the approach in the first place.

Bubba's driver was great, but his irons were not...and his short game was average.

He's got enough game to win anywhere, even the US Open. He wins in Tiger-esque fashion yesterday if he was truly 'on'.

Agreed, his short game was off; he tended to overhit on his approach shots, on Sunday as well as Saturday. But 11 one putts will make up for a lot of errant chip shots.

I've never even heard of a wedge shot into the green on 13 - how he didn't birdie that hole amazes me.

You talking Sunday or another day? He did birdie it on Sunday hitting a SW in.

The announcers on satellite also said it was the longest drive they'd ever seen on 13.

Ah Nevermind. For some reason I thought he made par on Sunday.

Makes you realize how fickle a four-day golf tournament is. If he'd chosen the right club on 4 on Friday and his approach on 13 had landed six inches in any direction from where it actually landed on that sprinkler head he might have won the thing.

Outside of his second shot on 10, his iron game was fantastic.
