They expect Fausto and Correia to help them win?Kevin Correia traded to the Dodgers for some sunflower seeds
And he had to wait until Tino got a plaque. The Yankees put Paul O'Neill into monument park????![]()
yeah its ridiculous but Tino was even worse. bernie deserves one though but he has to wait until next year. The Yankees put Paul O'Neill into monument park????![]()
#3 starter material for the twinsSome kid for the twins walked 7 in 2 innings in his major league debut. Tough start
Kind of watering it down aren't they? Did either of those guys even get 10% of the HOF vote?yeah its ridiculous but Tino was even worse. bernie deserves one though but he has to wait until next year. The Yankees put Paul O'Neill into monument park????![]()
preaching to the choirKind of watering it down aren't they? Did either of those guys even get 10% of the HOF vote? yeah they are pretty awesome. I really like these 80's Cubs uniforms as well. Love the thick blue waistband. You mean amazing I think. Those are hideous. Nice work, Rays.
Tino was a bad one, but O'Neill was deserving. Batting title, 4x all star, and most importantly the leader of those late 90's championship teamsFrom that era, they'll end up honoring Jeter, Torre, Mo (all HOFers), Bernie, Tino, & O'Neill. One too many IMO but not outrageous for a 4-time ws dynastyKind of watering it down aren't they? Did either of those guys even get 10% of the HOF vote? I dunno. When I think of Monument Hall or row or whatever it's called, I think of Mantle, Ruth, Joe D, Whitey Ford and even Jeter. Not a 4-time All-Star.Tino was a bad one, but O'Neill was deserving. 4x all star, spent a large portion of his career with another team. Not worthy imoTino was a bad one, but O'Neill was deserving. Cross out Joe McCarthy's name since nobody remembers him anymoreMcCarthy plaque is next IMO.
DFAed again after going 2 for 24 for the Padres. He's back like a bad penny. He'll fit right in for San Diego.Jeff Francoeur released by the Indians. It looks like it's the end of the line for Frenchy. He is a great guy and teammate by all accounts and was capable of looking like a ballplayer in (mostly) brief spurts. He was somehow able to parlay these into almost 5000 MLB PAs and over $25M.
He leaves the game with Mel Hall and Derek Bell as his top two B-R similarity scores. Hopefully Francoeur will be able to stay out of prison.
The only thing I truly cared about that day was that the Indians won.So whats the excuse for mccarthy dominating this time
though to a guy with zero prior MLB home runs.why the #### would i wanna do thatshady, you want to bet on the Oakland/Kansas City game tonight?
Sung Woo Lee is a nice story even though the Royals swept the GiantsThe Royals are boring as hell, but it would be so awesome if they make the playoffs
A three true outcomes guy headed to a zero true outcomes team. Seems like an odd fit.Josh Willingham to the Royals for 23 year old RHP Jason Adam.
I was at that game, more like pukebacks.Premier said:Rays and Cubbies with awesome throwbacks on today. Well, fauxbacks in one case.

This has turned into an amazing story. The Royals haven't lost since he got into town last Tuesday. Threw out a first pitch, bet George Brett, and now this last night. My favorite feel-good sports story of the year so far. Hopefully MLB will hype this a bit more.
I was watching the game and jumped out of my chair when I saw that catch. Yelled at my wife to come and see the replay. What a great moment for that guy. Really brightened up what was shaping up to be a sad, gloomy night.Phillies could use a glove like this in the outfield:

54-40 or fightJays have way more than half the crowd behind them tonight in Seattle. Last night it was 50/50 ish, tonight it isn't even close.
What's the deal with throwing an old ball out and keeping the HR ball? Is that common?I was watching the game and jumped out of my chair when I saw that catch. It's a tradition at Wrigley to throw an opposing team's home runs back. It's not uncommon to see people pull a fast one and throw a different ball back. What's the deal with throwing an old ball out and keeping the HR ball? I've always liked that they throw it back. I think it's to avoid the peer pressure. Don't the fans yell at those who catch it if they don't throw it back? That's dumb.
