I think Shakira's been ####### the strength out of him for the last four years to create an easier path for Colombia.I think after this display by Spain, Pique may be on the bench at home too.As bad as Spain has played today, Pique is still ####### Shakira tonight...he still wins
I believe what is very uncommon is being out after 2 games, if Spain loses today. If memory serves both Italy and France were still alive going into game 3.Happened to France in 2002 and Italy in 2010. Not too uncommon.Their group is hard, so it would be like a #1 seed losing to a #8 seed in the round of 32.Hey, another noob footie question:
What kind of a choke are we talking about here for Spain to not advance? I know they were considered one of the top teams, what I am wondering is how rare is it for a team of this caliber to get knocked out of the WC? Like a top 2 seed going down in the first game of March Madness? Or more common?
I think France managed a draw in their second group game in 2002 so they probably had a lifeline in the final group game. I know they didn't score a goal during the tournament.I believe what is very uncommon is being out after 2 games, if Spain loses today. Have to imagine the money is better...There's apparently a deal for Xavi to go to a Qatari club, I don't know if this is real. I can't imagine being put out to pasture there is better than the MLS.
Rakitic's signing is official, though.
NBA thread is over thereI've noticed that even the goalies fall down unnecessarily after making a routine save.
Dwayne Wade should have been a soccer player.
8 million euros. That's a nice pasture. There's apparently a deal for Xavi to go to a Qatari club, I don't know if this is real. I can't imagine being put out to pasture there is better than the MLS.

Rakitic and Rafinha are going to be just what the doctor ordered at CM.There's apparently a deal for Xavi to go to a Qatari club, I don't know if this is real. I can't imagine being put out to pasture there is better than the MLS.

I guess, but are those last few mil. really worth it?Have to imagine the money is better...There's apparently a deal for Xavi to go to a Qatari club, I don't know if this is real. I can't imagine being put out to pasture there is better than the MLS.

The money that was reported was significantly more than he could get in MLS in much likely an easier league for a player his age (less travel, less physical, no field turf). There's apparently a deal for Xavi to go to a Qatari club, I don't know if this is real. I can't imagine being put out to pasture there is better than the MLS..
some of this is to just secure the ball and let people clear out before they do anything. Its also why I scream about simply touching the keeper isnt a foul.I've noticed that even the goalies fall down unnecessarily after making a routine save.

Just like the nfl players who go down untouched to stay inbounds to waste time?I've noticed that even the goalies fall down unnecessarily after making a routine save.

Unemployment rate is too high for that anyways. There will be no Spanish baby boom next March.

Certainly that's the way I bet it. Couldn't resist those odds.So as we all expected Iran, Honduras, and Costa Rica have all outlasted Spain as 2014 World Cup Contenders.

There's a big hole just below that that should work just fine.Dempsey is saying "he hopes he can breath out his nose by Sunday".
Manaus is not the location to have trouble breathing :(

France was more temperament than age though, IMO.Didn't France do the same thing win/blank on the next tournament?
Maybe its supposed to be that way like how skyscrapers in earthquake areas are built to rock in an earthquake.
The 2002 French team was aging like Spain particularly in defense. Barthez, Desailly, Lizarazu, Thuram and Lebouf were all over 30. Zidane was hurt as was Robert Pires.France was more temperament than age though, IMO.Didn't France do the same thing win/blank on the next tournament?
Agree with this. I'm all for distinctive uniforms. Croatia's are great, Cameroon a bit gaudy but those are the national colors.I realize Croatia's uniforms are a love/hate thing but I think this is an aesthetically pleasing match. Both teams have distinctive and recognizable kits with no oddball change strip. You could see a 240p Youtube video of a 1986 game between these two teams and you'd know it was them playing (except that Croatia wasn't a country yet)

Agree and liked itI know eyebrows were raised when 6 minutes were added at the end of Spain-Chile. Personally I think it was a reaction to all of Chile's time-wasting "injuries"
