*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (2 Viewers)

In the last 9 weeks (Since Oct 4), we have lost only 1 game with Bradford as our QB. And it was to the 12-0 Carolina Panthers.
Sam Bradford has a 105.6 rating in his last three starts and the Eagles are 5-2 in the last seven games that Bradford started and finished.
Nice to see the hatred quiet down after that... hopefully. He has looked good though. Only thing is, the points we got this week are pretty irreplicable going forward, so we are going to have to be better on offense.

Pats were #1 in points against. Scoring 14-20 on them is acceptable, and the offense made plays when it had to. What about the big 3rd down pass to Riley Cooper to run out the clock? What about the 7 minute drive bridging the 3rd and 4th quarters? How about Chip (gasp) running the clock in the 4th Q with a 3 score lead? Love it!

Going to enjoy this one, just for the unexpected win it is! Jenkins 100 yard INT, Sproles punt return, blocked punt, Bradford with a 100+ rating with 2 TDs and no INTs...AWESOME.

Yeah....as well as the Eagles played today (and it was arguably one of their best games of the year), the Patriots were clearly still the better team and the Eagles had more than a little luck go their way.

More important than the win, IMO, was the fact that the team clearly had NOT quit on Chip.

Philly homer here and all I have to say is please don't get your hope up. The sun shines on a dogs ### once a day.

The NFL makes no sense.

Speaking of Kotite, was that his team that beat the 1994 49ers, who went on to a blowout win in the Super Bowl, 40-8 with Ty Detmer at QB?

he had a few clutch throws today. Looks so much more comfortable back there his last few games.
i hate to discuss Bradford after a win like that, but there were quite a few plays i remember that were "almost" Ints. not bagging on Bradford, but also saying the jury is out.

for the life of me, i can't figure out the difference between the last 2 games and this one. there were some good bounces, but the Eagles team today compared to the team over the last 2 weeks are literally worlds apart

Dallas was 0-7 without Romo and people pretend those games ff int count because it's not their real team. We were beating Miami when Bradford got hurt. We were 0-3 with Sanchez and might have had our worst 10 quarter run in team history. Bradford is back and he's 5-2 in his last 7 full games. 2 TDs and no picks. And really clutch throws on the TD to Matthews and the 3rd down to Cooper towards the end. He's not elite and he's not top 10. But he's getting better and today he beat Tom Brady.

Amazing that if the Redskins lose tomorrow night, the best the division winner can do is 9-7 (if they win out). I can't recall a division THIS bad in a long time. I guess even if the Skins lose tomorrow, they're in first place?

bradford didn't beat Brady, the Eagles defense beat Brady. Not to mention the special teams beat the pats.

 Promise you won't say that this offseason if Sam gets re-signed? Because that statement holds less weight than a wet brown paper bag.

Brady threw a horrible pick six and they lost by 7. Bradford took care of the ball and made a few really clutch passes. Brady is ten times the QB as Bradford. But Bradford won today.

NFC South last year. 7-8-1 won it. Tampa got the #1 pick overall and were still in the division hunt in week 14.

Yeah I suppose one of the teams could match that. I'm not sure any of these teams even get to 8-8 but I guess it's possible. Haven't looked at schedules for the 3 teams.

Stats weren't there for the offense today and I wasn't able to watch the whole game since I was out with the family. But that throw Bradford made to Cooper on 3rd and long with 1:15 left, that was the most impressive throw I've seen him make all year. Stood in the pocket. Ignored the pressure. Stepped up and gunned it for a first down. That's how it's done.

And he showed a lot of passion after making that throw. Nice to see. The guy has been kind of monotonous most of the year so it would be nice to see him show some leadership.

He had 2 of those, an earlier one (1st half) to Matthews for an important 3rd down conversion. I think it was 14-0 Pats, they had just tried that stupid on side kick to try to knock the Eagles out early.

If they finish any better than 6-10 I'll be shocked.
You'll be SHOCKED if we go 2-2?
Yes.
We just beat the Patriots. I take it with somewhat of a grain of salt, but to say we can't go 2-2 vs Buff, Ari, Wash, NYG is crazy.

I don't think we're going 3-1 and getting to 8-8.

Buff: 50/50

Ari: Loss

Wash: 50/50

NYG: Win.

Think we go 2-2 and have a good shot at the division at 7-9.

Yeah, they got some big plays today on D and ST that might not be repeatable, but they played with an energy and passion that has been missing for a few weeks. Play with this energy and emotion going forward, they have a chance every week. ARI, BUF, and division against @NY and WAS. All tough, but 3 of 4 at home. This game could (should) be a confidence builder.

Bradford stepped up on a big 3rd and 12 in the second quarter to keep the drive alive en route to their first TD, which narrowed the gap to 14-7. Stepped up and threw a dart to Matthews. Big throw to Cooper in the 4th. Great TD toss to (and catch by) Matthews to extend the lead to 35-14. Perfect placement low and away from the DB. Showed some good footwork sidestepping the rush and the heart to stay in the pocket and deliver the ball under pressure. He is definitely improving his last few games (vs. NO, DAL, MIA, NE) and you can see he's getting more comfy.

what's funny, is thinking about this from a gambling perspective. I remember the line was double digits and all of a sudden a ton of money came in mid-week to get the Eagles to +7.5. Was a big swing and didn't make sense why it occurred. Little :tinfoilhat: but i would love to get the answer of who poured money in on the Eagles

Man, I hope Dallas wins tomorrow. I love the chaos going on in the division. It's going to come down to the last play of the season. A sweep to Murray

sports radio will be interesting this week. i just listened to some random stuff from this week and it is good for a laugh.

they were making a big deal on one of the sports shows after the sunday night game how Lurie was in the locker room before the game and seemed to really fire up some of the guys.

i am almost as confused after this win as i was after the last 2 losses

Ya it doesn't make any sense. The 2 games that everyone in here seemed to say we weren't going to be in, were the Jets and Pats games. Let's hope Bradford can go undefeated vs the AFC EAST and win a big one next week.

I can't wait for the Shady talk.

We lost to Miami.

Great win for you guys, congrats. Smart move for the Eagles deliberately slow down play from the end of the 3rd quarter onward.

It's a crazy division.

Yeah the clock management was noted in the game thread. Chip took criticism for it in the past so hopefully its a sign he's learning a few things. Maybe its becoming more apparent he'll need to adapt if he wants to stay in this league.

As much as I swing wildly with my feelings about Chip, if the man can adapt to the pro game then he's got a chance. I'm sure some of his ideas from college will work but many won't. It's up to him to adapt.

Benching Austin and limiting Murray's touches were enough to give me hope. Better late than never?

That's cool D. I'm just not ready to put Winston and Stafford's 10tds in the rear view mirror yet. Pats were rolling 14-0 when Belichick tried to clown Chip a little bit and karma bit his ###. They were on their way to another long day.

According to Adam Schefter, the following teams- Cowboys, 49ers, Rams, and EAGLES, have all expressed a degree of interest in Johnny Manziel.

It's official. The franchise has hit rock bottom. :(
I hate when Chip starts spilling the beans. He really needs to stop running off at the mouth
No, in this case, there is genius in it. Let it leak that the Eagles are interested in Manziel. Jerry Jones hears this and immediately decides he can't let the Eagles get his coveted golden boy. Cowboys trade 1st round pick for Manziel.

Eagles profit!!!

(God, I hope that is what is going on and we aren't really interested in Johnny)
.The Eagles do not influence what the Cowboys do, it seems to he the other way around. Everyone in Dallas liked Murray as an average to good RB at an average salary. But everyone in Dallas loved the idea of Philly over paying top dollar and crippling their cap for an average RB in the wrong system. Many on here got more enjoyment out "stealing" Murray and his stats from the Boys when they should of been studying his game film. Jerry wore him in the ground behind a bulldozer line. Often leaving him in games that were way in hand, knowing that someone was watching and would overpay. Its hard to "steal" a house cat who has been dumped in a field....Now your left with feeding him.

The Cowboys are no doubt a mess right now; they have got to get their own issues under control (QB future; team character cleansing, etc), but Philly is a lost ship with no direction that is now starting to mutiny. They need to spend less time trying to sponge and overpay a Dallas square peg and shove in their own round hole- thats playing right into Jerrys hand. In other words, worry more about getting a system that works for the talent Philly has- not the Cowboys or any other team that has a different philosophy. I like Chip, and just like you guys, expected great things from him. I'm still scratching my head why the players aren't buying into him, but he is also horrible at financial decisions if he kissed off on the blatant overpaying of an average Murray "to steal him" from the Cowboys. If that's what Jerry causes other teams to do, then in that aspect- he's a genius. He's still a failure in the judging players character department (Hardy, Dez, Randle) but that's a whole other issue.

This East division was set for an epic battle between Dallas and Philly and both teams squandered it. Dallas for not protecting against injury to Romo, Dez and Lee. Philly for failing to play the right talent in the right situations and horrible spending. It's a shame that the Skins are even mentioned as a division leader. Daniel Snyder was the greatest imbecile the NFC East could ever be gifted. He has and should still have that team sucking hind ### for years to come. It's been a barrage of bad decisions on Dallas and Phillys part that's even made Washington relevant again.

Sad division indeed.
I hope you realize that my comments were a joke, based on the fact that Jones apparently had to be talked out of taking Manziel in the draft two years ago. Your response seems to indicate you took it seriously as you felt the need to point out all the deficiencies of the current Eagles team. Lighten up. And be careful about ragging on the Redskins as Snyder appears to have made one good decision in his hiring of a GM. Sometimes all it takes is one good decision by an owner to go from an imbecile to the owner of a three time super bowl winning team. I am sure you can figure out who I am talking about.
