We need a tackle. I'd prefer a first round talent rather than try to groom a late round guy. I'm already skeptical if Kelly can take late round linemen and grow them into starters with the guards but you have no choice there.

Think you probably go best Tackle available in the 1st and move Lane accordingly? Add a DB w one 3rd and then go OL a couple more times?

I agree. I want to see at least 3 OL this draft. The rest can be BPA maybe a developmental QB in there somewhere.

1st round pick needs to be best available. We don't want to draft a iffy OT if there's a solid DB or DL sitting there. You have to go BPA with your first rounder. I'd love it if it lines up that an OL is the pick - and if it's close, thats what they should go. Our later picks though is where we need to stockpile some inner OL talent.

I feel like you don't get high enough to draft a quality tackle often. You have to go for one if you're there. Aside from the WR, OL was out biggest downfall this year. No lanes to run, inconsistent time for Bradford. The demise of the run game to me was the single biggest issue all year.
If we could solidify that with one draft and have them gel by the second half of next year, we could get right back to a 9-10 win level and be on the move again.
I'm just not sure Chip does it. He ignored it last year completely, and could again. But hopefully not.
Wouldn't even be surprised if Chip goes WR in the first round. Hoepfully not though.

I know he's here 2 more years so my only hope is that this is a 6-10 finish and a freaking wake up call. I can see how an arrogant guy might get a little full of himself winning 10 times 2 years in a row without "his guys". And I hope Chip is as smart as he thinks he is and isn't really Saban 2.0. He has to look at the state of his Oline from a coach and a GM standpoint and say "WTF was I thinking?"
That's my hope anyway.

I can't see using our first rounder on DL, regardless of who falls. That's the deepest position group on the team, even if Curry moves on.
Anyone care to speculate on compensation picks we might receive?

the problem started because a few Skins fans came here and couldn't accept the fact that we don't miss Desean Jackson and wouldn't want him back.

I assume you're including me as one of those. Go back and read what I wrote about Jackson. It was a reply to GoBirds I believe, took issue with his opinion of what Jackson has done for the Skins. It was in no way disrespectful to him and didn't crap on the Eagles.

They have to give Kelly at least one more year. He had 2 good ones in a row; firing him after 1 bad one would be stupid.
Keeping him another year has risks. His drafting, cutting, and signing will determine a lot of the roster for years to come. If he botches that it'll be an anchor for awhile. But I think they have to keep him and see how he does, at least another year.

I didn't make the dancing on the grave comment. All I know is that the day after Washington beats Philly, our team thread is flooded with Redskin fans. Most of them being tools. There's a redskins team thread. You'd think you'd be happy for finally not sacking. Go there and enjoy it. We are in off season mode now. Discussing the draft and possible free agent moves. I dont think he was referring to you.....it was a couple other regular trash talkers. It's all good, just some end of season frustration and a couple guys that don't get to talk trash much. It's a good thing our season was put out if it's misery....we were not winning a playoff game. Of course Chip will play to win this week, then we will miss a draft pick we want by a couple slots in April lol.

I would also take DeSean back. JNB is unbelievably thin-skinned. I really had no perception of any Skins' fans doing any trash talking (certainly nothing anywhere near out of bounds). No idea why we have to fill up pages and pages with all this slapfighting over fandom and differences of opinion. Everyone can say their piece.

Well the biggest issue is thinking that they had a competent receiving core to replace the losses of Desean and Maclin. At least at RB, they made an attempt to replace McCoy. At WR, their attempt was relying way too much on young players to be able to step in immediately and replace the type of production that Desean and Maclin gave them.
yeah, looking back, they should have resigned Maclin. Matthews' drops all through the first half of the season really hurt us as a team. I'm sure Kelly was counting on him to step up as a #1. I did like what I saw of him after the bye. They need Agholor to improve. He's a 4.4 40 guy who would be a great compliment to Matthews if he steps it up.
The slim good news with our WR's is that there's only one direction they can go. Usually WR's need time, get better with more experience, and develop within a new system. I know we've seen a lot (maybe enough) of Huff, but I haven't given up on him yet. Still think if they can fix their damn drops, and have another full offseason with Sam, that JMatt, Nelson, Huff, Ertz can become a (slightly) above average receiving corps next year.

Exactly.....while I wish they would have done better there is no way rookies come in and out produce receivers on the back end of their prime right away. It's a decision made for the long term that should progressively look better.

Any talk in Philly about even the possibility of them cutting ties with Demarco Murray assuming Chip Kelly is back?

No talk of it at all from the team or from beat reporters or anything, just from fans speculating.
Personally I really hope we keep him. We don't save much from cutting him anyways, and he's a nice backup option to have to take some pressure of Mathews who most definitely can't go through a whole season getting 15-20 carries a game.

Can Philly fans really see the Eagles making Demarco primarily the backup after giving him that kind of contract? Even now, when he's been thoroughly outplayed by Mathews all year, he hasn't been relegated to backup duty at all. They just alternate with Sproles mixed in.Deamon said:

So it's either cut Murray (not saving much money) and spending a high pick on a RB (when we have WAY too many other holes), or keeping Murray. It's the lesser of two evils and is a no brainer to keep him.
To touch on this point, first half of the season, no. Later on Chip has proven and shown that he has no issues sitting Demarco or making him the backup. Maybe he changed, but seems like he's fine having his big money RB as the backup now.
