It was common knowledge that this move will be done right after the announcement of Murray signing with us?

FWIW, he said Bowe would be here within a week.

Just that Bowe was being cut today... It was always being done today acc to reports from as far back as 4-5 days ago.

If he signs w Philly then Id say ya... He knows some things.

Casserly just stated he prefers Murray overall to McCoy.

If you guys end up with Peterson, the Cowboys will be just fine. If you draft a rookie to fill Murray's shoes You will most likely at least have a downturn in production this season, if not multiple seasons if you draft the wrong guy.Remember, Tony Romo didn't have an MVP caliber year until the Cowboys committed to the run. If the run game drops off that puts more pressure on Romo. Romo is not at his best when he thinks he has to do too much.

Murray is:

A) A better fit for the scheme

B) Wants to be here

C) $5.55M cheaper

...plus we didn't cut McCoy and worked a trade to get a cheap young ILB who excels in coverage and pairs nicely with Kendricks inside while Graham and Barwin rush from the edge.

IMO improved both the RB and LB corps, for $5.55M less, and used some of that cash to sign CB's.

No problem with these series of moves.

trade rb for better RB who is one year older and should run better in the system for less money.

pick up 2013 droy in the process.

trade qb for qb who is 2 years older with likely better upside.

try to trade oldest guard in the league.

Hey, it must be really hard rooting for a team that sucked enough in the right years to get 2 #1 picks when there were all time great QB prospects out there, and one lived up to his potential and one appears to be on his way to living up to his potential. And all that has gotten you is 1 Superbowl win?But go ahead, bash on the Eagles and their fans. We can take it.

BTW, with Grigson on board, the Colts are slowly becoming Eagles East (Herremans, Cole).

I would be happy with ADP of course.

However, I am good with a fresh legged rook too. I am convinced any decent back can get 1000 yards without much effort and save of Murrays 7 mill and likely get 3rd round comp pick.

Dallas will stay with the run to help Romo out as you mentioned. I don't really see much changing. :shrug:

Other than the Bradford trade, I'm pretty happy with every move Chip has made this offseason.

And other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

The way the RB thing is going, until we hear of actual "pen to paper" I consider Murray still a free agent. Who knows, this could still be a ploy to see if Dallas will pony up..............

Yes, because getting older at RB and QB (who "likely" has a better upside) than a QB who was 14-4 and had a 27-2 TD to INT ratio is proof I am getting "beatdown". :rolleyes:

 
I thought one of the knocks on Maclin was that he was too small for the system. Isn't Kenny Stills a comparable size?

We'll see if DAL replaces Murray with a Peterson or Gurley-type caliber RB, but if not, always nice to simultaneously improve and weaken a divisional rival with the same move, at least at that position.
