*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (2 Viewers)

If the Eagles really wanted to trade Bradford to move up to take Mariota, this move would make a lot of sense. Tebow is more similar to Mariota than Bradford is. So the Eagles would have a backup QB more similar to their starter who would be no threat to their rookie starter. And all the 3rd/4th string guys would be working with a QB/offense more similar to what they would be working in if they move up to starters or more playing time.

Of course the major difference is that while their style is similar, Tebow's accuracy is awful. But again, that makes him no threat to the rookie QB.

Sports radio should be fantastic tomorrow. Hot takes a plenty.

Enjoy the ride guys. Chip is as unpredictable as they come, and he just passed Bill for the top "I don't give a #### what you think" coach.

Maybe this is to take the attention off his other moves up his sleeve. Realistically this is to add a camp body and he won't make the team. If he does, he'll be qb3 and won't touch the field. EIther way, it will be pretty irrelevant in terms of our actual team, ... not sure how people seem to think this makes Chip dumb, or makes our team worse though. Wonder if we draft a 6th qb.
He'll see the field if he makes the team. Bradford and Sanchez won't last the season.

You mean like last season when our 3rd qb didn't see the field?

Is it even possible that Tebow is open to learning other positions. I would have to think that Tebow the QB is long gone. Tebow is one hell of an athlete.

As the new James Casey he might be worth a look, but hopefully that's it. He could be a useful chess piece as a TE/RB type if he doesn't keep insisting he's a QB. I would have compared him to Hernandez but I'd probably go to hell for that.

That's funny I thought the h back role also. Basically what they wanted Casey to do. Would he play special teams though, lol.

I don't see what he can do that will ustify the media circus he brings. Chip keeps things interesting.
This is stupid and a complete waste of time and talk.
But talk they shall. All week long.Coincidentally I wonder if chip has any stake in WIP or the Fanatic because he basically gives them weeks of programming in their down times.

He did for the Jets. He was in the backfield as the punter protector.

Really, First Take with those two boneheads is Must See TV today.

I have my doubts about Kelly's moves, but man, fun to follow.

 2015 Philly Offseason.

So for the Philly-area people, we no longer get Mike & Mike in the mornings?? I put it on today and I hear what appears to be a new morning show with Jon Marks and Anthony Gargano.

Interesting. Didn't even tune in. Anthony is OK if he tones down the Cuz persona.

Rather have Tebow as QB3 than Barkley. Fits the scheme better. Could realistically see him have value in a package of plays. As others mentioned he could be an asset in a 2pt conversion package for sure.

High character guy. Hard worker. If he can beat out Barkley I'm all for him at QB3. No risk 'camp body' signing IMO.

He was in full-on-Cuz mode this morning. "aww your da best!" to Mikey Miss, Sal Pal, etc. Nauseating.

Correct: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/pattisonave/Anthony-Garganos-new-975-The-Fanatic-show-to-start-Monday.html

Article says that Mike and Mike are on 610 WTEL, which doesn't make any sense to me, because that's a CBS station.

I am glad to have Gargano on there. Can't listen to Angelo and Mike and Mike are so bland to me. Won't be must listen, but Gargano is definitely my top choice of those 3.

I got about 45 minutes in this morning because people forgot how to drive in the rain and I thought it was a good show.

I didn't mind Mike and Mike, but agree that they are pretty vanilla. Cataldi is the absolute worst. his voice alone makes me want drive into a tree.

I like M&M for the national info & perspective except when the convo is all NCAA or golf. That's when I'll go over to WIP (I'm fine with them in small doses). This morning they had Didinger on the phone who I'll always listen to. When he was done I went to 97.5 and was very disappointed to hear they dropped M&M.

And yeah, for the 5 minutes I had them on Gargano was in full Cuz mode.

Agreed on Diddy. I caught the end of his call-in today.

Just saw this from a feed I follow:

To Eagles: Titans first rounder #2 pick (Mariota)

To Chargers: Sam Bradford, Eagles first rounder #20, Titans second rounder #33

To Titans: Philip Rivers, Eagles third rounder #84

If Chipper could pull this off I'd be impressed.

Regardless of how you feel about Mariota, if Kelly can move up from 20 to 2 for Foles, this year's 3 and next year's 2 he is GM of the year.

I was thinking Tennessee would. Have no first rounders this year and get aging Philip Rivers and a 3rd rounder to show for it?

I would think SD would have to throw in their #17 pick to Tennessee. Maybe even a future 1st from Philly.

Something like: Rivers, #17 + Philly 2016 1st

Really? Was just about to weigh in and say the Chargers would win this trade.

Do you really think Rivers is worth more then Bradford + 1st rounder + 2nd rounder? Given the fact that a team may give up a 1st for bradford, that's TWO 1sts AND a 2nd for Rivers? No chance Rivers is worth that much. Not even close.

Ya this original thing is showing Rivers alone. Not #17 too. Chargers would do that original trade all day.

I saw a similar trade the other day which seems to make perfect sense for everyone. Unfortunately we weren't involved:

To Jets: Phillip Rivers

To Titans: #6 and #17

To Chargers: #2

- Jets somewhat in win now mode. Got some offensive weapons, and with Rivers at QB they actually could make a playoff push. A first for Rivers would be reasonable

- If Tenn does believe in Mett, and were going to pick a diff position at 2 anyways, picking 6 and 17 is better then 2. Close call on this one though, with the market maybe offering more for #2, there may need to be a 3rd thrown in from one of the other 2 teams

- Chargers swap Rivers for Mariota. Hit the reset button a bit and lose mathews, rivers, gates (soon) and start with a franchise qb.

I agree. There's no way the Titans would do this.
I thought this too at first, but makes slightly more sense with a closer look. Remember, Whisenhunt took the Cardinals to the Superbowl with a 37yo Kurt Warner, he might think Rivers has 4-5 yrs left. He's always coached pocket passers, including Rivers as San Diego OC a few years ago. I could see him not wanting any part of a player like MM.

Still think it's a bit of wishful thinking for Eagles fans to include themselves in this deal, it's much better for TEN and SD to do this deal directly with each other, IMO. Can't see anyone really wanting Bradford over MM at this point.

Today is 4/20 after all. Whoever came up with this had access to some serious pharmaceutical grade gear.

... and with the first pick of the 2015 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Marcus Mariota.

He could at LEAST fetch a 2nd rounder though no? (Cleve offered a first)

So is Rivers at this point in his career worth one 1st and two 2nds?

This kind of summarizes my thoughts as well. I don't like all the attention paid to a backup QB in April, but no problem with it at all from a football standpoint.

Look chip dont know what hes doing. A 2 and foles for bradford is awful. And i believe nothing about rumors this time of the year.

All these rumors about rivers for #2 is probably big smoke by tennesse to drum up mariota interest.

When were we talking about the foles trade? All I said was what Phillip RIvers was worth. That's it.. not sure what you're getting at for. You said Bradford+1st rounder+2nd rounder was not enough for Rivers.

So Tennessee scheduled the private workout that San Diego had for Mariota?

A clue for what? Do you think Rivers is worth:

2 1sts and a 2nd? (that's assuming bradford is worth a 1st). No way he is worth that.

Debatable on his value being 1 1st and 2 2nds.

EDIT: The original argument was Bradford + Pick 20 + Pick 33 (pretty much a late first rounder). He said the Chargers would be "insane" to take that trade. Pretty much 3 1sts for an aging QB and he says the chargers would be stupid to take that...
