*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (4 Viewers)

Carolina blew their load last week in Seattle. We'll beat them next week.
We'll see. I think they're a great team. I hope we get healthy and if so we have a shot. So many guys will be questionable next week.
Great team? I wouldn't go that far
Agreed as this team is all hype
Please tell me you're a Bears fan.
Sure am they suck and have sucked so what is your point?
No point. It just makes sense now. Why you're in the Eagles team thread after they've won 3 out of 4 and climbed into first place in their division and showing jealousy.

Enjoy looking up and seeing Rodgers' nutsack again for the millionth straight year.

Scary thing is our offense is getting better every week. We will be a tough out. Did you guys hear Mike and Mike this morning? Greenberg trying to say we need to play sanchez. Lmao
I've been as big of a Bradford supporter as anyone, but I'm starting to agree.

We won in spite of Bradford last night. He was terrible.

If the defense keeps playing that well we might not need an all-world QB to do some damage. And I think with Sanchez this offense is at the very least decent.

No I came in here to tell you that your once again overrated eagles are going no where fast with a little Sally at QB. More of a rant about Bradford from a FF perspective. A little sensitive this morning junior? Speaking of swallowing a tea bag - ohhh when ohhh when was the last time yer little eagles won a super bowl? Hmmm and how many times have you watched the Giants, Cowboys and Redskins win a Super Bowl? You are going to tell me that this team is not overrated? OK junior...

There's a ton of pages talking about the good and the bad of this team. Not one person has claimed they are a Super Bowl contender.

Here's the overall jist of the thread: The division is very weak this year. The Eagles just need to keep improving and maybe we can take advantage of that and sneak into the playoffs. We think our line sucks, but is improving. Our receivers are mediocre, without a legitimate WR1. Bradford is coming along slower than most of us hoped and makes terrible red zone decisions. Demarco Murray sucks early on but seems to be running much better now. Our defense seems to be getting better every week.

How's that? Anything you'd like to dispute? Or are you still riding high on the glory of the '85 team? Pssst, here's a tip: Walter Payton and Mike Singletary aren't coming back. You better worry about your own putrid joke of a team.

thanks. see ya later

Demeco played one of the best halves of football I have seen in awhile. I hope he is healthy long term. The defense, after that first drive, was fun to watch last night.

We all called it: In year 3 of Chip Kelly, the Eagles would have a potentially devastating.....DEFENSE!!

I just have a hard time being that scared of the Panthers. They definitely showed something going into Seattle and winning, but Seattle is obviously not the Seattle of old. And there other 4 wins were against the weakest of the weak in the league.

Sneak into the playoffs? Odds on favorite to basically win the division which by now has been watered down by injuries. The door is wide open for an overrated team. Are you telling me that this team is not overrated and that Bradford is going to lead the way to the Eagles first ever Super Bowl win? I don't worry about the Bears junior. They have done enough to earn their place in the NFL and they were all but ranked as a bottom feeder in the NFL this year unlike the Eagles who were ranked as a top 10 team and maybe even a top 5 team. The funny thing here is the Eagles have 1 more win then the Bears. How is that possible? I own their defense. I like their running game. I think the coach is trying to push a mature offensive scheme with a QB that cannot execute. Try not to take it so personal champ.

You go piss off

I'm not just talking about bradford. The running game has steadily improved and that's more important than anything for our offense. We turned the ball over all night and still won by 3 scores
Absolutely. Things are looking up. We're not going to finish 13-3. There are more losses on the horizon. But I don't think 10-6 is out of the question. Which is pretty damn good considering the 1-3 start. And that could win the division. Eliminating the mental mistakes is huge at this point. The bad red zone throws by Bradford. The miscommunication with the receivers. Kelce and his penalties. There weren't near the drops last night by our receivers, so that's a positive. Demarco looked great.

Jordan Matthews had a costly fumble last night, but he was fighting his ### off for a first down. I'll take that any day of the week over a receiver who curls into the fetal position when he catches a ball over the middle.
10-6 is back where you started in the first place. You almost have to make some sort of deep run in the playoffs for this experiment to be considered an improvement at that point. I'm sure you and your boy will be ok with 9-10 wins and a wildcard loss, but the media will feast on it all off season with the college talk. Broken record

*not to mention Bradford is a FA to be

Yeah and didn'tBradford refuse an extension so he could play out this year for a bigger payday? That was gutsy I thought at the time because of his injury history. He needs to step things up big time now.

Who is overrating this team? If anything, people in this thread are still down on the team. We're just happy they're 3-3 with a great defense. Who the hell is saying Bradford will lead them to the SB?

Now stop trolling. Or are you that unhappy the Eagles actually won last night?

If the Eagles were ever a top ten or five preseason favorite, it may have been after the week three preseason game, where they looked unstoppable. But all offseason, I think they6 were considered a huge question mark. Bradford coming off of two major injuries, losing Maclin, losing McCoy and signing Murray...

Even Eagles fans weren't sure what to expect. Not sure who all these people are who are overrating the Eagles. Certainly not Eagles fans.

As for the pathetic Bears, they still have their nucleus. Cutler, Forte, Jeffery. They chose to give Marshal away. Another boneheaded move by the franchise. But not as bad as signing Cutler to that contract and paying him as if he were elite. Yes, the Bears have earned their way into the NFL. They used to be awesome., That one year. Congrats. Bottom line is, they are now bottom feeders, so you have nothing to cheer for. Instead, you get your rocks off dissing other teams. Here's a tip, loser...if you're a Packers or Patriots fan, you might have an excuse to criticize other teams. When your own team is one of the laughing stocks of the league, you should probably just stay in your room and admire your Gary Fencik Fathead. Mmkay?

He lost his parlay because he bet Giants. He was jumping up and down doing fist pumps after that first drive.

I'm sure the Bears team is thread is pretty boring about now. When your team is a joke, there's nothing else left but to troll better teams' threads. I kind of feel bad for him. Sad little man. :(

Hey fellas, good news.....lots of trolling today from other teams' fans. That's a great sign. The team was so bad before, that we were just fighting amongst ourselves. It's like the little brother theory. I can pick on him all I want, but if someone else does, I have his back.

Usually when other fans start trolling, they're getting nervous. That's been absent this year. In both this thread and last night's game thread, the trolls are rearing their ugly heads.

Nothing like a prime time ### whooping in front of a national audience to get the haters riled up.

Go for another next week? 2 weeks straight of hate from the haters till Cowboys the Revenge.

Vegas has the PHI v CAR game tight. CAR favored by 2.5...at home, usually you 'get' 2 points so really they are more or less calling it an even game on a neutral field.

It's not inconceivable that CAR has a bit of a let down after last week. Very emotional game in SEA, one they had circled after last years' Divisional round.

It's not inconceivable that CAR is somewhat a product of both solid play (they have played well, especially Cam IMO) and their schedule: @JAX, HOU, NO, @TB, @SEA. Combined 9-20 record.

All this being said, this PHI D is banged up at key spots and coming off a short week, with travel. Going to be hard to pull this one out, but I give the squad more than a punchers chance to get to 4-3 and take a much needed bye week off as winners of 4 out of 5 and in 1st place in the division.

Second half schedule looks very favorable. 5 of 9 are home games and go from Dec. 6 @ NE until Jan 3 @NY without traveling, and those are not far trips from Philly to begin with. In fact, after Dallas, they don't go further than Detroit the rest of the season. Least miles traveled of any NFL team this season, and it's not close.

@DAL (no Romo, obviously)

MIA

TB

@DET

@NE

BUF

ARI

WAS

@NY

Bold prediction sure to fail? They beat CAR, get @#$! right post-bye, and take 3/4 from DAL, MIA, TB, and DET. Would gladly take 7-4, as it should provide room atop the division standings.

:football: Defense travels well, and the offense will eventually jell :football:

82% win on the defense again and that's fine. But it's more than just endzone picks on Sam. He just doesn't look comfortable to me. Indecisive and seems to be making the wrong reads along with some godawful misses thrown in way too often. At least he's taking shots downfield now. Six weeks in I was hoping for far more consistent QB play.

Running game is getting better. The read option is not working between Demarco and Sam. And they need to stop the sweeps. Murray needs a head of steam going straight forward, stop the delays and sweeps, they aren't working.

Defense was just silly again. Billy Davis proving me wrong with better players. If we had the lackluster CBS from last season this could be really ugly. Good job all around from the D, and thank god for LB depth, get well soon guys.
They mentioned this on the broadcast last night and it does seem pretty accurate. Wonder why Chip doesn't try this, is it just because his offense needs the QB to shotgun? How many snaps has Sam taken from under the center this season? Might help Kelce not make bone head plays too. Would love to see Murray with that running head start but maybe our line isn't good enough or designed to open those kind of holes right away like Dallas' line did.

I just have a hard time being that scared of the Panthers. They definitely showed something going into Seattle and winning, but Seattle is obviously not the Seattle of old. And there other 4 wins were against the weakest of the weak in the league.
I'm pretty nervous. Cam has shown recently he can own the game and their defense is pretty nasty. That being said, I think our front seven should hold up well to Cam's strengths and they don't really have a threat to expose our secondary (other than Olsen). If Bradford can have a decrease in stupidity I think we can win a close one.

get ####ed. Go pollute some other thread man.

Bradford lookso really bad and needs to get it together.

The defense is playing great (aside from that first drive) and is the reason they are 3-3 and not something like 1-5.

This team and offense has so much potential but all goes back to Bradford. He's being very inaccurate and accuracy was supposed to be his thing.

I'm happy the Eagles are right there but this team needs work.
I agree he's missed some throws that he should have but I wouldn't say his accuracy has been awful. If you look at completion percentage, he's doing decently well.

Bradford 63.2%

Peyton 61.6%

Foles 57.4%

Luck 57.2%

That would be much higher if we weren't top 3 in the NFL in dropped passes. I think a lot (but definitely not all) of his inaccuracy blame is overblown and due to his receivers. He just needs that confidence and swagger back that he had in the 2nd half of the ATL. He's already starting to look more decisive, and with a bit more time and maybe his healthy receivers back and playing well, he's going to do what we expected him to do. We just can't have Brady-esque expectations. I'd be happy with a 275-2-0.5 average every game.

I think it's more because his misses are so ill-timed. Every QB (with the possible exception of Brady and Rodgers) makes multiple inaccurate throws per game. I don't expect perfection from him. But I do expect better decisions inside the red zone. That's going to kill us if it continues.

1000 yards of offense in 2 weeks isn't at least decent? Jeez what the hell do you guys expect here?!
57-7. Not 27-7

You almost have to make some sort of deep run in the playoffs for this experiment to be considered an improvement at that point.I'm sure you and your boy will be ok with 9-10 wins and a wildcard loss, but the media will feast on it all off season with the college talk. Broken record

Glad you found Power Monstar to do your dirty work for you, you must be bursting at the seems reading his posts :lmao:

I think a lot of the fans in here are content with the win last night and excited to see if we can turn this around. Most of us would be happy with a 10-6 record at this point after the start we've had. Crazy to think as an Eagle fan that you wouldn't be happy if we ended the season 10-6 and are cheering for us to do worse then that.

Season one with an entirely new crew, I'd consider 10-6 a success. Especially after starting 1-3. Hope this helps

People who are calling for Sanchez are ridiculous. He's not "decent", he's waving the white flag on the season. Bradford has not been all that good but he's also getting zero help from his "weapons". That WR crew is hovering near Pinkston/Thrash territory. Good god Matthews, hold onto a ball for once.

The problem is beyond this season. Have you seen enough from Bradford to commit long-term? I didn't from Foles and I certainly haven't from Bradford so far. That's a pretty scary place to be.

Exactly. It's admitting a mistake and settling for average. It would be like bring Foles back. For what? He's already proven to be average. Is that what we're striving for?

Exactly what I was going to reply. Not putting it all on Murray or Chip, so many factors involved and the oline is probably a bigger part of it.

Well, if Bradford was a mistake then that's exactly what they should do. These guys are already getting paid what they're getting paid, so you should put the best players out there. Foles is irrelevant. If Sanchez gives them a better chance to win, he should be the starter.

Now, I understand if you still think Bradford just needs more time to improve. I hope that's the case, but Bradford has done NOTHING to seal up the starting job so far this season. How many more picks does he need to throw in the endzone for them to give Sanchez a shot and see what he can do?

We saw what Sanchez can do. He's not improving. If we're hoping to go .500, then get Sanchez in there. If we're hoping to make the playoffs, see if Bradford keeps improving. Bradford, right now, is equal to Sanchez. If he cuts down on the red zone mistakes, he's way better. Having Sanchez be the QB is like having Cooper be the WR1. Unless Jordan Matthews works out his drops issue, we aren't going anywhere. Because Riley Cooper is what he is. Sanchez is Cooper. Average and not getting better. For this team to have a chance at winning a playoff game or two, Matthews has to become the number one he shows flashes of being from time to time. And Bradford has to keep getting more comfortable and make better decisions in the red zone.

I'm not ready to write the season off yet. Switching to Sanchez would be doing that. This team has won 3 out of 4. Even discussing this is insane.

Agree to disagree I guess. You see putting in Sanchez as giving up. To me, moving to Sanchez would signal they are trying to win games and not just give Bradford more "evaluation" games to see what he's capable of. Again, I sure hope Bradford improves.

But let's be real, at no point last season did Mark Sanchez look as bad as Bradford has this season.

No, he is in the same boat as you and likely isn't really an Eagles fan either. I just found it funny how Sha comes in here just to #### all over Bradford and doesn't get the same treatment. You both are incapable of being objective and giving credit when credit is due and would rather Bradford fail then succeed. At least you cheer for a different team.

Are you out of your mind??

It doesn't matter how bad someone has looked, if you win 3 of 4, and have 1000 yards of offense over the last 2 games (without monstar RB stats), you don't put your backup QB in. Eagles fans have reached a new low if you really think now is the time to start Sanchez, c'mon man you don't honestly believe that.

How about Sanchez' 10 for 20 game? Or his 0 TD/2INT game? We know QBs often unnecessarily take the praise/blame for how a team is doing, but Bradford is faced with a worse Oline this year, worse receivers, TONS of dropped balls that are thrown into the receivers hands, yet still has a better td/int ration and completion percentage then Sanchez had last year. And this is all during his first 6 games in 2 years. I don't think Sam has been great but there is zero chance we should even consider going to Sanchez at this point with the streak we are on.

Do I want the Eagles to have to start Sanchez? No.

I'd be interested to see if he does better or worse with this team, though. Like I said, I was a big supporter of the Bradford move from the start. I'm a homer and always an optimist when it comes to the Eagles (for some reason)

It's just been really painful to watch this offense. They look like they need to go to some high school practices this week and learn the fundamentals on how to run an offensive play.

Anyway, let's hope they keep the wins coming and the offense can form something that resembles a starting unit.

Look I am not advocating pulling Bradford.....yet. But saying people are ridiculous for considering going to Sanchez is not accurate. Consider:

Bradford: 6 starts in this offense, 63.2% Comp. pct, 9 TD's, 9 Ints, 6.8 Y/A, 80.0 QB Rating

Sanchez: 8 starts in this offense, 64.1% Comp. pct, 14 TD's, 11 Ints, 7.8 Y/A, 88.4 QB Rating

So they are performing pretty similar, with Sanchez having slightly better statistics. Perhaps since Sanchez has been in the offense a year longer, he will step it up sooner than Bradford. I don't know. But I think up to now, Sanchez throws a better deep ball in this offense which it needs. Bradford's 3 redzone ints in the last 3 weeks have all been underthrown, and the Cooper TD last night was also underthrown which almost led to it being incomplete or intercepted.

Bradford is the QB for now, but I don't think we are really downgrading if we go to Sanchez.

But we aren't upgrading either, so there is no point. No one disputes that Bradford has better upside, so if it's a tie, stay with him. Again, just looking at those numbers we need to take into consideration that Sanchez had: Better Oline, Better WR's, Less drops. I don't know why we are ignoring these facts when comparing the two. 4 of Sams INT's were 100% the WR's fault.

Let's be honest, those 9 interceptions are misleading. The one against Atlanta was a perfectly thrown ball that went through Matthews's hands and into the defenders to end the game. That's not on Bradford. And last night, Cooper mysteriously decided to do just stop running. It was basically a fair catch for the defender.

But I like the stats you posted. Bradford is playing 'horribly' and his stats are nearly identical to Sanchez, who you all seem to think was good last year. That's my point. We know what Sanchez is. He's not getting any better. That's what he is. We don't know what Bradford might become once he's more familiar with the offense and gets more confident with his health. Maybe this is it. Maybe Bradford doesn't improve. Then we don't resign him. But he's as good right now as Sanchez is. So what would be the point of making a switch and not improve?

Few notes from today: (Bigboy we miss your twitter post postings)

- Chip Kelly on the #Eagles QB situation: "Sam's our quarterback. We have full confidence in Sam."

- DeMeco Ryans (hamstring) said probably could have finished if needed. Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) said expects to practice full this week.

- Malcolm Jenkins said when told that the Eagles have forced 16 turnovers. "Our goal is three [turnovers] every game"

- Bill Davis mixed up the looks of some of his zone defenses presnap to confuse Eli Manning. He doubled-teamed Odell Beckham Jr. And he hardly blitzed.

- Davis shaded a safety over cornerbacks Byron Maxwell and Nolan Carroll each time they had to cover Beckham.

- Coach Kelly on improving run game: Our offensive line is really executing. We haven't changed any schemes.

- Kelly: Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis are the best pair of linebackers that we'll face this season

- Kelly: The hardest cut for us at end of camp was Najee Goode. I don't know why he wasn't picked up, but thank God he wasn't. It's a blessing

He is learning.

Also, everyone knows my thoughts on Bradford. But it would be ridiculous to switch to Sanchez right now. Does no one remember the Skins game last year? No thanks. Mark is the backup. Unless Bradford throws 12 picks in a game, he's playing out the year.

Yep. Luckily for us, we aren't facing any stud wr's for the next 5 weeks:

Funchess

BYE

Williams (hopefully not Dez)

Landry

Evans

How to stop Olson this week is going to be the question. We haven't faced an elite TE all season.. the closest being Reed and Witten, who both put up pretty decent games vs us. Would have loved to have Kiko for this game.
