Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (1 Viewer)

I like this, like an offdee scale for conservatism. Rate jim11 next.
"When you die, you will never have another thought. It will be like it was before you were born. Finis. Over. Done. That is all."

"In fact, I defy you to show a post of mine that expresses racism."

Verdict: Hates Jesus. Doesn't hate Mexicans. Radical left-wing Alinskyist drone.

To make it simple for other people wondering if they are a real conservative or not, ask yourself this question "Do I agree with Ted Cruz or do I think he is crazy" If you agree with Cruz you are a true conservative and if you think he is crazy you're a cuckservative.

That is awesome.

So all of you wanna-be conservatives that know Cruz to be a bit whacky can no drop that title and mindset.

huh?
Can you think of a more conservative person running for president? People on the left like to call him crazy because he fights for social conservative values and Republicans that think he is crazy are two things: scared of being called a racist/ sexist / idiot and only care about muh money with little care to their culture going down the drain. They have given up, they have given the left complete moral high ground.

What has that left us with by the way? Little boys thinking they are girls and baby parts being sold. It is totally disgusting the direction this country is going in.

Wait.... did I get accused of being a liberal?

I've been called a lot of things, but that ain't one of them.
You aren't a conservative, you care more about being respected by far left radicals like Tim then you do about conservative values. You may have been a conservative at one point in your life but you sold out. Basically you are a liberal from the 70s now.
No.

Unlike you, he has a brain and is capable of cogent independent thought.

Did Ben Carson practice on your cadaver?

Don't argue with him. I like the thought of Yankee as a liberal from the 70s. Sort of a cross between Bela Abzug and Jane Fonda.

Yankee thinking to himself:

There are few who deny I am a true cuckservative as my impotence is known far and wide! When it comes to pushing Leftists ideas from the past I excel without ever even trying. As I let the Cultural Marxists mold our social norms I have watched my race grow sick and weak! Time to time I can keep income taxes low though I cannot stop the sale of baby meat. And year after year they win the culture war. Today gay marriage, and tomorrow something more. And I Cuck! The Beltway king. Have grown so very tired of always losing. Oh, somewhere, deep inside of my ### a rustling pain starts to amass! Overton Window Shifts to the Left as my people are dispossessed. I will punch to my right I'm not proud to be White! I won't stop the illegals' advance! And since I am old, I will never be bold, and stand up for my children's generation! U.S. can go downhill, and turn into Brazil because we are just a proposition nation! But who here could ever understand that the beltway King who despises his base is secretly afraid that all he loves will soon be gone! And knows all too well what side he should be on. Oh, somewhere, deep inside of my soul. I know my worldview is not whole. My mainstream respectability will never save our society!

No true conservative can be for/indifferent toward gay marriage, abortion, and what else?
Amnesty is a big one.
I guess that means Ronald Reagan wasn't a true conservative. :hophead:

A Reagan Legacy: Amnesty For Illegal Immigrants[...]

Reagan And Amnesty

Nowadays, conservative commentators like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh often invoke the former president as a champion of the conservative agenda. Sean Hannity of Fox News even has a regular segment called "What Would Reagan Do?"

Simpson, however, sees a different person in the president he called a "dear friend."

Reagan "knew that it was not right for people to be abused," Simpson says. "Anybody who's here illegally is going to be abused in some way, either financially [or] physically. They have no rights."

Peter Robinson, a former Reagan speechwriter, agrees. "It was in Ronald Reagan's bones it was part of his understanding of America that the country was fundamentally open to those who wanted to join us here."

Reagan said as much himself in a televised debate with Democratic presidential nominee Walter Mondale in 1984.

"I believe in the idea of amnesty for those who have put down roots and lived here, even though sometime back they may have entered illegally," he said.

Ben Carson on the press

“Many in the press will say I’m sensitive and that I should not be thinking about running for office, because I get offended by what they do,” he said. “But the reason I expose the press is because I want the people of America to understand what they’re doing. It’s not because I’m sensitive.”

“I will continue to expose them every time they do something, so that as more people understand what they are and what they’re doing, it will negate their affect,” he said. “Until they have the kind of transformation that’s necessary for them to become allies of the people, we have to know what they’re doing.”

“The good thing is that a lot of people in America are on to them and understand what they’re trying to do, and that’s one of the reasons we’re doing well,” Carson said. “It seems like the more they attack me, the better we do.”

“Everything needs to be looked at in context, and when news media picks one word or one phrase and they run with it and try to characterize people like that, I gotta tell you guys, that’s why people don’t trust you anymore,” he said. “I mean you’re down there with used car salesmen.”

“There is only one business in America that is protected by the Constitution, and that is the press, and there was a reason for that. It was because the press was supposed to be an ally of the people," Carson said.

"They were supposed to expose and inform the people in a nonpartisan way. When they become partisan, as they are, they distort the system as it was supposed to work, and they allow the side that they pick to get away with all kinds of things.”

If only he would have exposed breitbart when he lied before congress and caused millions in taxpayers moneys to wasted.

Having checked my ignore list, I'd guess meatwad1 or GrandpaRox.

But Carson is right about the press - whether they are biased towards the left or to the right is irrelevant (although they are mostly biased towards the left).

Says the person who quotes the press constantly...

One must always cast a skeptical eye on media sources. Look at the bias of the reporters and owners. The media is overwhelmingly corporate, and will therefore bias things in a manner that benefits their corporate interests.

Any source that isn't "one of us" is stupid, yeah sure.
It is documented that Breitbart has run with false stories in the past based on the rumors and unproven facts (just some examples): http://m.snopes.com/2015/06/14/breitbart-pear-flag/, http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/shariatexas.asp Anyone who links to them, instantly loses what little credibility they have.
And so has cbs, nbc nyt, CNN etc...
And Fox... Point is, it's a matter of degree. Breitbart is flame spewing hate wing news, all vitriol, no counterproposals. Which is part og my issue with the tea party. Maybe if the right posted realistic ideas and conveyed them in a manner that has some semblance of having gone past puberty, rather than sounding like the villagers in Monty Python and the Holy Grail who wanted to burn the witch...

Are we supposed to believe the polls now?
What is that supposed to mean? Polls are almost always accurate within the context of the poll. There is no "believing" or "disbelieving" a poll in the sense that you would disbelieve a story reported by CNN.

Well, yeah, but we're told NOT to believe the polls this far out when it shows Hillary dropping like a stone. I'm just wondering if the same standards apply here.

Yeah, I saw a segment on CNN that said the big 3 have spent a total of 2 minutes on Sanders since Labor Day. And I'd have to guess Fox hasn't spent a lot of time on him either.

Ben Carson has a legitimate gripe here. The press is underhandedly making it seem as if he misspelled "effect" as he was talking.
