It's not just going to be Hillary and Bernie. I figure Obama is going to attack Trump every day, twice a day. Obama will do EVERYTHING in his power to prevent a Trump victory. And he'll goad Trump. Then there's Bill.
It's silly because after the debate, every other candidate's closing argument should have been "you know what? I don't really belong here. The guy with the experience, maturity and vision and the guy who should be President is standing right over there. I hereby drop out and endorse John Kasich"
You're the latest in a long list of people to say this election is going to "fun" or "entertaining". I feel like a Trump/Clinton battle is going to produce an ugly, dispiriting, soul-crushing 5-6 months that will leave us all questioning whether democracy is really worth it.
I agree with you about Kasich having more experience and maturity. Not so much on the vision. But here's the thing, the country is looking for strength right now. And they are sick of the establishment. The rise of Trump was predictable for anyone paying attention.
I actually agree. My comment was sarcastic. Though I will enjoy that one aspect (Obama trolling Trump.) But in general you're right.
I wonder how Clinton is going to utilize The Big O on the campaign trail. W was unpopular, Gore foolishly ran away from Clinton, and Reagan had health problems. We really haven't seen an incumbent campaign hard for his successor in a long time.
It was about the debate. Now, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter.
She is already made it clear she is running for his third term. Once she has clinched the nomination, he should enthusiastically embrace her candidacy as the one who will preserve his legacy. They should have no problems in working out the details.

The talk at the time was that the Clintons had a lot of clout in the Democratic Party and he was more or less obligated to give her a key appointment. I never understood it but that's what everyone was saying. There was an insinuation that they could've made things difficult if he didn't play ball.
Maybe they realize he's not a conservative, has no real workable plans or policies, doesn't have the temperament to be president, has a metric ####-ton of baggage and personal scandals that will be dragged out ad nauseum in the fall, and if elected, would probably cause massive GOP losses in the midterms and possibly marginalize/destroy the party once and for all?
I heard that too, but never seriously bought it as reality - that Obama would have any obligation to the Clintons, unless that he felt that her support was key to the winning the election (and from a practical standpoint, she really had no choice in the matter, if she wanted to have any kind of political future she had to support Obama as the nominee).
All this may be true, but the stupidity was waiting until he was really, really close to getting the nomination before they started their all-out assault on him. If they wanted to kill his chances, they needed to do it a few months ago. I think in general there's going to be more "Cinton fatigue" on the Democrat side and more enthusiasm for the republican candidate on the GOP side.

Bernie will undoubtedly support Clinton if she gets the nomination, but considering he's been fighting against things like big money in politics for decades, I'd be pretty surprised if he goes out of his way to do a whole lot of campaigning for her.
