I think it's interesting that he may have a better shot at winning his home state of Ohio than Rubio may have of winning his home state of Florida. If Cruz wins Texas and Kasich wins Ohio (although after super Tuesday) and Rubio doesn't win Florida, I think it's over for Rubio.

Kasich is a pretty popular governor, Rubio is a no-show first term Senator.  I'm not sure what his approval rating is though in Florida to be honest.  I agree with your analysis.  I went from thinking Rubio had a real shot if the establishment all got behind him, to now I think this thing is Trump's to lose.  Even if Trump falls just short of the delegates he needs, he is likely to have a large lead.  I don't see how they can take the nomination from him and give it to someone else then without killing the party.  Even if you accept the premise that he would have bad downballot effects, it's better to have that for one cycle than to kill the party.

This was the end of his career anyway. After college he ran for a seat on the West Miami city commission, and then the Florida house the next year and then he just kept running for the next office without doing anything in any of the offices he held. He's not qualified to do ANY thing else other than run for the next office. The closest he's ever come to doing something was the Gang of Eight immigration bill.

Which comes out in the debates...it's obvious he's a professional politician and that's not what the country is looking for.

This is more than just Republican or Democrat...try to keep up.

That's where you're wrong. Yes Bernie fans are anti-establishment, but most of them are also Democrats, and in the end they'll come back to the fold and vote for Hillary- most of them.They don't like her, but at least they know she's not incompetent. 

And while Bernie fans have a few things in common with Trump fans, they're not anything like them. For one thing, Bernie is not a bigot or racist or divider. He's a very decent man. He's no buffoon. Most Bernie fans are too smart to ever support a demagogue like Donald Trump. They'd see right through him. They're not the sort of voters who can be easily fooled.

You missed one difference on Bernie and Trump, Bernie's a Socialist.

 
The entire election has been surreal up to this point but I think Rubio stooping to Trump's level finally did it for me. I legitimately believe that my 10 year old cousin, who thought stumbling upon the phrase "doodoo head" was some type of revelation, would have a real shot versus the current field.

He insults come off so poorly. He reminds me of Steve Carrell's character in "Anchorman" when he was trying to hit on Christina Applegate.

You're right, massive expansion of entitlements and fiscal conservatism go hand in hand.  :loco:   Trump's tax plan isn't happening BTW either.  There's nothing more damaging to being fiscally responsible than massive entitlement expansion, because you can never reign it back in once you've doled it out.

Trumps ideas will cost a ton.  One has a way to pay for it...the other doesnt.

I said fiscally responsible...its not that i think Bernie is great fiscally.  Its that i think Trump is 100% a disaster to the budget.

Neither has a way to pay for it.  You can't tax the wealthy enough to pay for Bernie's plan.  Trump's tax cuts can't happen because of the way the deficit would explode.  Even if they got all they wanted, you can roll back a tax cut, not an entitlement expansion.

What does it say when "insults works" for the other guy?

Sorry Rubio, you're just not enough of a #### for the insults to work. It's disingenuous. You need to actually be a #### for it to work.

 
Trump was just asked by Jake Tapper if he would condemn the KKK and say he does not want David Duke's endorsement. He said he's not familiar with them so he wouldn't want to say anything negative about them.

This is the hilarity of it all. Rubio looks childish resorting to middle school insults. It's immature and not at all presidential. But Trump has been doing this act for 8 months. And it looks natural. He's not forcing it and becoming an aswhole like Rubio is. He's already a well-known aswhole.  And he's the GOP's most popular candidate.  A sad sad time for America.

IIRC Farrakhan endorsed Obama in 08, Chavez endorsed him 2012. and I think Castro has endorsed Sanders, but it's not like NOI or communists were/are out there working for their campaigns or they were retweeting their followers' messages.

I think if you believe Trump and he has no clue who Duke or white supremacism is you have to believe he is an idiot, but we know that's not true, he knows who these people are.

I was wondering the same thing.  My initial thought was it was Schumer, for obvious reasons.  But the author went out of his way later in the article to say it wasn't Schumer.  My guess is that it was a jilted staff member.

 
The base of the GOP is holding the party and the country hostage. It's ####### embarrassing. They disparage anyone who works with the other side, their rhetoric is of anger and fear, doom and gloom, and they get their rocks off on nominating a charlatan cause, you know, 'merica. Rubio is getting crucified for the immigration bill which he and others actually almost got #### done. Imagine that, getting #### done. 

Obstructionism may win an election or 2 but it sure as #### can't govern.
