***Official 2017 NCAA Hoops Tourney thread: Congrats UNC, all the refs from NCCG should be banned for life*** (4 Viewers)

I will say this, the non walk call on Notice on the baseball pass was huge.
Definitely, as it meant Florida was still chasing with fouls instead of being able to play straight up (would have had the ball, down 2).

That said just a few minutes earlier they had missed the out of bounds call on Leon when it should have been SC's ball and they gave it to Florida.  So maybe some karmaic balance there.

The more annoying thing to me with the officiating was the way they started calling all kinds of ticky tack stuff in the second half after letting them play in the first half.  Florida seemed much slower adjusting to that (SC in the bonus with 15 mins left in the half, crazy).  I think there were 9 total fouls in the first half and like 25 in the second half even before all the intentional fouling in the last minute.

Yeah, they kind of lost themselves towards the end - though I think the G had the right idea of driving to the hoop; he just couldn't make any of his lay ups. I like the way Florida plays, though - it's all out in front for them.
A lot of times in those scenarios the defense just gives up the layup.  That SC D isn't giving away anything for free.  I think on several of those they expected the defense to be soft in the lane in favor of covering the 3 point line and they ended up surprised when all of the sudden all those SC bigs were collapsing on them.  Then they were screwed because everyone else was just lined up at the 3 point line.  There wasn't anyone on the interior to make a pass to just throw it up on the rim wildly.

So I have sound for this game but the CBS announcers have been muted for the whole game. I hear the court sounds and court announcers but that is it.

Congrats to In the Zone, Mjolnirs, Slapdash and any other Gamecock fans around these parts. An incredible run and an easy team to root for(and I say that as a Clemson fan).  Good luck in Phoenix, hope some of you are able to make the trip.

Yes, absolutely ... Any of you Zags, SC or Ducks fans that can make it to Glendale, I highly recommend doing it.

As I've mentioned here, my only FF so far was '96 (not sure why I was there, since the NCAA says UMass wasn't. Funny, I never got back the $1k or so I dropped on the Marriott Marquis in Times Square for four nights, but I digress ...).

It's a bit disappointing that's the only FF I've seen, because it kind of got swallowed up by being in NYC. It just didn't feel like the event that I'm sure it is in a lot of other places. But I would never have traded that experience for anything. Having left Philly four years earlier and missing the "Christian Laettner" game, there was no way I wasn't staying for the Monday final (Kentucky over John Wallace and 'Cuse). Even went to Opening Day at Shea that afternoon.

Big time.  I have no dog in this fight, but being only down by 5 despite getting the short end of a lot of calls isn't bad if you're a Wildcat.
I'm surprised  Calipari kept his cool and didn't get a technical with all the horrible calls against his team.

I think both of those offensive goal tending calls were wrongly called even if close.  Also NC was over the back toward the end of the half and also fouled Monk earlier and U.K didn't get the calls.  Not to mention the phantom foul on Willis earlier in the half.
