*** Official 2017 NFL Draft Thread *** Bears pay a steep price for their franchise QB (1 Viewer)

Browns must have deal still cooking for cousins with this trade to Houston
I think Rappaport was full of BS on that one.  Trading for a player under the franchise tag means you get them for 1 year, plus the rights to negotiate with them. There's no guarantee you have Cousins beyond next year.  Who is going to risk that unless you can work it out a contract in like an hour.  And at this point, who the heck would WAS roll out at QB.  Not like a starting QB is on the board.

They'll probably prove me wrong in like 20 minutes.  But I can't fathom how that trade would get done.

Wait.  I thought CLE was trading 1.01 1.12 and next year's 1st for Garappolo

I'll take it as a Texans fan. We needed a leader under center and I don't think there's a better one in this draft. Likely couldn't wait until a deeper draft next year so glad it was Watson if we had to go up and do this.

Not really...Houston is a typically a back half of the first round type of team.
They have serious competition now in that division and they have the worst QB. He's not ready. It could be a surprisingly bad season they have coming. All they have is D.
