That was my first thought when I read the news. It's not May yet, though
I'll be there in my Ankiel shirsey (24, not 66) and a pair of whitewashed homemade cutoffs screaming vulgarities at John Lackey because of his punchable face. The first home game against the Cubs should be "Jorts And Shirseys Night", where all fans in Jorts and Shirseys get 2-for-1 Bud Lights as long as they two-fist them back at their seats.
That's a high standard. The homemade cutoffs take it up a notch.I'll be there in my Ankiel shirsey (24, not 66) and a pair of whitewashed homemade cutoffs screaming vulgarities at John Lackey because of his punchable face.![]()
Cardinals: General Manager John Mozeliak said SS Jhonny Peralta will return to St. Louis for a second opinion on what the team believes is a torn ligament in his left thumb. Peralta, who averaged 156 games during his first two seasons with the Cards, could miss the first two months of the season. ...ffldrew said:Peralta out with thumb injury 2-3 months

Hope Brandon Moss can play left field. Otherwise there's gonna be a lot of Grichuk-Pham-Piscotty outfield nights, and I'm not sure I'm ready for that.
####, if this makes me think "Trading Jon Jay was a mistake", I'm going to be 80% as angry as I get when I see Broxton up and throwing in the bullpen.
How do I feel? Like I'm going to have a lot more free time this October than usual.![]()
How do you feel about
3B Carp
2B Wong
LF Piscotty
1B Holliday
RF Grichuk
C Molina
SS Diaz
CF Pham
You forgot the 3 pack of brand new jortsIf the AJC is to be believed, it would take a starting SS, #2 hitter, pitching prospect, and a gallon of Adam Wainwright's semen.
We don't trade away jorts. Good day, sir!You forgot the 3 pack of brand new jorts
The Braves should have at least a quart of Waino semen back from before they traded him to STL for JD Drew.If the AJC is to be believed, it would take a starting SS, #2 hitter, pitching prospect, and a gallon of Adam Wainwright's semen.
It really is amazing to see how often the Cardinals have come out way ahead in big trades. Lou Brock/Sutter/Mcgwire/Edmonds/Holliday. That's a ridiculous run.Bruce Dickinson said:The Braves should have at least a quart of Waino semen back from before they traded him to STL for JD Drew.
Can't help but think that's one they win with Peralta at SS. A couple of big misplays there in critical moments tonight.Drat.
Bullpen pitches six innings tonight with zero hits, zero walks, and nine strikeouts.
But that ended with one out in the 11th.
I think it's time to panic.
Not really.
I dug that they brought Diaz up and put him on the field tonight. If he's here, may as well see if he can play.
They might break the most strikeouts by a team, record. Will the Cardinals win a game this year? Will Mike Leake throw a strike?
I loved, "Mark Reynolds looked at Grichuk and thought, 'Man, that's a lot of strikeouts.'"They might break the most strikeouts by a team, record.
Also might be time to build the Aldemys Diaz bandwagon.Bob Sacamano said:Hazelbaker shirsey?
Two more Ks for Oh today. Eight of his 11 outs so far are strikeouts.Great bullpen effort though. Really liked what I saw out of THE FINAL BOSS tonight.
That and that Hazelbaker, Diaz, and Garcia are going to the All-Star game this year! What I took away from this series was mostly that the Braves are awful.

Going to be a matter of how they adjust once the league has a scouting report on them.More impressive so far: Hazelbaker or Diaz?
He throws a four-seamer about 93 that seems to rise late, and a slider around 85 that moves pretty good. He mainly sticks to those two. Has a slow curve and split-finger fastball, but has command issues with them and has the closer's mentality of "I can't lose throwing my third-best pitch".Is the Final Boss legit? Or is it kind of smoke and mirrors?
I thought I remember hearing one of the announcers talk about the fact that hitters have a hard time picking up his pitches due to his release. Apparently they all look the same coming out. Seems to be the case based on short term results thus far. If that's the case, then definitely legit. He throws a four-seamer about 93 that seems to rise late, and a slider around 85 that moves pretty good. He mainly sticks to those two. Most of his batters faced have been strikeouts and walks, a bunch of called third strikes. So he's doing something that's freezing hitters. Not sure if it's a general lack of familiarity that will get solved his next time through the league, or if there's something about his windup or release that makes his pitches tough to pick up.
When he comes in and throws 93 upstairs in the 7th, it makes Rosenthal's 100 MPH in the four-seamer in the 9th look like a video game cheat code.
