Love the heavy hits from the Caps, but they gotta be smarter about retaliation penalties.

I'm no hockey expert, but it seems to me LV pressures the puck so much in the defensive end along the boards that if the Caps get it out clean they will have plenty of scoring chances.  And LV generates their goals from defensive pressure.  So I'm guessing this entire series is predicated on LV forcing the Caps into turnovers in their own zone, and that over a 7 game series the Caps would get better at clearing it.  They had a ton of fails in game 1, and a few in game 2.  But over 7 games, seems this is something that would start getting easier.  Sort of like a basketball team facing the press.  The first time you see it it's rough.  A couple of games later it's second habit how to execute right.

Caps got a steal with the Eller contract extension for 5/$17.Basically he is what they wanted Laich to be but at a cheaper price and still is only 28.

My only issue is he needs to figure out when to pass.  I love his play, but he'll shoot 80% of the time.  That 3-on-1 last night was a prime example.
