*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (1 Viewer)

Any Season Ticket Members that didn't get open practice tickets, check your STM account. One ticket for the 8/5 practice showed up in my account this morning. But I'll be headed back from Canton that day.

So I went to the Night of Champions event at The Mann that had the Eagles and the Philadelphia orchestra. I'm glad I only paid $33 after fees but felt sorry for anyone who got lower level tickets for over $100 or more as the whole thing was maybe 1hr and 15 mins tops. I was a little disappointed as I thought we were gonna have one of those week by week highlight things the NFL Films does of a teams season (either it's not ready for production yet or maybe time constraints). Overall it was a good night. A light rain at 7:45 and nothing. Do to the wet concrete some older women fell on the steps near our section when my buddy and I were getting food before the show. The Venue isn't bad for an outside hall. The orchestra played most the NFL Films hits from over the yrs. They had a nice Steve Seabol tribute too. I got to take my picture with Swoop and the Cheerleaders AGAIN (Yeah I know I'm corny) before the show. My seat # was very special to me though. I got seat 99 the same # as Jerome Brown who died on my 5th Birthday. Merril Reese hosted it and had his ring on (Couldn't miss that big MFer it's HUGE). He then brought out Jeffrey Lurie and Brandon Graham with the Trophy which is my second time seeing it in the last month at a concert. They played the Seabol stuff and then went into some highlights of Eagles games over the yrs (Kind of disappointed the Lateral INT in Dal to Troy Vince I believe that went for 6 wasn't in there). Biggest cheers were for Randall Cunningham, Andy Reid, Reggie White, Chucky Bednarick, and Buddy Ryan and Vermiel. people booed any highlight with Rich Kotite. They went over some Eagles highlights and every time Brady was shown the whole place booed as well as the Dal games. Place roared on a Sack fumble on Romo. During the SB Highlights everyone cheered all the TDs. When the stuff for Philly Special came up the place erupted. Any time Big **** Nick was shown he may have gotten the loudest cheer of the night. After all the highlights. The conductor introduced Jason Kelce. He played Fly Eagles Fly with the place in chorus on the Sax and after that the event was over. It was a fun time. Don't think there were many dry eyes when we all left the place because I know I wasn't. Especially when all the old Highlights from the Vet during the Cunningham yrs and Rhodes years were playing as those are some of the concrete memories I have of spending time and going to games with my Pop-pop. I thought the event was done pretty well. I guess I thought a little more would happen ad it just seamed too short. We were in and out of the parking lot and got home not even before 10:30.

Slow times right now.  Divisional predictions?  And Go.

Eagles 11-5
Giants 8-7-1
Cowboys 8-7-1
Redskins 5-11

Yep, I'm calling a tie.

Skins that good?  Cowboys that bad?  How come?
I actually think Washington did the right thing with their moves this year. They seem to be more team oriented and I think Smith is a winner.

Cowboys are heading in the wrong direction in my opinion. This is a passing league and 1. I don’t Dak is very good and 2. They may have the worst set of WR’s and TE’s in the game. Garret also seems like he’s out door as well.

Maybe because I still have a soft spot for Andy Reid, I'm wondering if Smith will see a fall of without him.
He did fairly well without Andy his final few years in SF from what I remember too. I think he’ll do enough to get 9 wins there this year. It’s obviously early though too and I want to see how their skill guys look.

Holy parity haha.

Makes sense though.  But I can't see the Skins improving this year going from Cousins to Smith.
I think Cousin’s and his situation was more of a cancer than anything else. They seem to have removed a lot of this types over the past couple years though. I think the Skins win a lot of ugly games this year.

I'm not defending Cousin's but RG3 really made it hard for him to really develop. Chris Cooley went after RG3 and there was a lot of reports that neither QB seemed willing to help one another out. I think Was screwed the pooch there. Never should've traded up with RG3 and then on top of that used one of the few picks they had left on another QB which was a little baffling. At the time I did like it since I thought RGME was one of the most overrated QB's coming out in the last decade but I think it did a lot more harm for Was as well especially all the cap and economic resources wasted on franchise tagging a guy who ended up not even staying and doesn't have a great record against winning teams for his career.

The 2 QBs in that draft were due to the Snyder-Shanahan differences that hadn’t surfaced publicly yet. Snyder wanted RG3, Shanahan wanted Tannehill. The owner got his way. So Shanahan took the closest thing he could get to Tannehill in the mid rounds.

Man David Akers looks awesome.
Saints look like Vanderbilt, Buff looks pretty cool, Fins looks like some Miami U type, Jags look no different then what they have now same with Lions, Giants look too similar to Buff, Baltimore looks great but again small changes to an already existing Uni, hate to admit it but Was looks pretty cool, KC still looks like my High Schools new Uni's, SF I always liked their black to begin with but these look better looking, Packers look like Grambling State, Eagles still look good and when did David Akers become black, and the Cowgirls look no different then what some Texas HS football team would wear

RB positional battle is going to be very interesting.  Pump is having a great camp and looks quite a bit better than Jones and Adams right now.

Man great time to be an Eagles fan front the Super Bowl to Dawkins entering the HOF and now coach and GM locked in for years. Love it.

HOF induction ceremony in Canton was awesome last weekend. Had never been to the HOF so it was well-worth the 6 hour drive on back-to-back days. The HOF was packed on Saturday and it took 3 hours to get through it, even with skipping the main HOF bust display. It was a 2 hour wait to get in to that section. The Super Bowl section had an 18-minute movie in a rotating theater for the "2017 Road to the Super Bowl." About 5 minutes on the season and playoff teams then the rest on SB52. Canton was over-run with Eagles fans and our show had about 75% Eagles fans, so it was like reliving it all over again. And you couldn't go 10 minutes in the HOF without hearing an E-A-G-L-E-S cheer echoing from somewhere.

At the induction ceremony, the Eagles fans were loud and proud, but also pretty respectful by not trying to take away anything from the inductees during their speeches, or even the other fans that were having their moment for their guys. It was probably 40% Eagles fans, 25% Ravens, 15% bears, 5% Vikings and the rest of the teams fans made up the other 15%.

Those 60% non-Eagles fans were absolutely annoyed with us as the day went on. But after taking 52 years of jokes and insults about no rings, we earned the right to enjoy it and be annoying for a year. The best was this comment, from a Bears fan in front of me: "That chant is on my nerves. They won one Super Bowl, get over it already." From a guy who was wearing a "Super Bowl Shuffle" t-shirt...

Do we know what the plan is for playing starters tonight?  Do we only have one QB playing?

ETA: looks like we picked up the brake pad guy as QB4.

Let me guess another old guy who gets made at guys kids for standing on his lawn too?

I must have put this in the wrong thread or it never posted but this article is awesome. This is an awesome article on what Doug Pederson's offense is all about. The hybrid Spread/West Coast. Andy was trying to perfect this for yrs. When Brad Childress was hired as Andy's Spread offense analyst in KC he found the perfect QB to run this offense in College. Anyone want to take a guess? If you guessed Carson Wentz you'd be right. Amazing how this has come full circle and Andy's first QB of the Eagles Era became our first HC to win the Eagles a SB.

Big Balls Doug shows his new offense is here to Stay

We got cool hands Joe Callahan (AKA Aaron Rodgers other back up) who's kind of a local kid.
