*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (2 Viewers)

@Football JonesThis was my post 2 days ago.  Yet you just said in here that I didn't think the Rams were in tier 1 alone.  Care to back that up?
Well, you would look really dumb if you said anything other than the Rams being in tier 1 by themselves.

The 'Playoff' thread is an honest take of mine  I don't waste time posting nonsense. That's for the FFA.

I could tell by your comments in there it bugged the #### out of you that I didn't have Philly in tier 2. Get over it.

My honest advice for you (not that you'll take it) is to grow some extra layers of skin. It makes life so much easier.

You or someone called him out the other day, (because for some odd reason Dallas and their fans is always on your mind) if you don't want him in here , don't call him out
Not I.

I realize your thread is pretty boring and all the fans are hiding right now.  I guess talking about Philly keeps you guys busy?  Don't sway the other way man, you're sometimes one of the good ones.

Yet Football Jones posts in here way more than in his own thread.  Leave it to Dallas fans to brag about when they're good, and not be able to take it when they're bad.  Yikes.
2 playoff wins in 23 years tends to have an effect on a fan's psychology.  Maybe they just want to see what a champion's team thread looks like. There was no internet back when Dallas was good.

You just said that I DIDN'T say the Rams were in a tier by themselves.  Care to elaborate on why you made that up?

FJ:  Deamon, you said this.
Me:  No I didn't, here's the proof.
FJ:  Ya well you'd be dumb if you didn't say that.

Really?

Excellent point & not to be overlooked.

I do check out team threads, but the one & only reason I posted was to correct some BS that was said.

From there, of course, it expanded when all the thin-skinned Philly posters couldn't take the correction.

You know, the "special wording" & "loopholes". There's a lot of people in here (not all) that need to get over themselves.

That's the bottom line.

So you said BS about me saying Philly should be in tier 1.  I corrected you, and you still can't admit you were wrong.  If anyone needs to get over themselves here it's you.  Even when you're wrong beyond a doubt you hide from your comments.  Sad really.

Deamon, Football Jones, let it go. Neither of you are going to convince/change your position for the other one so just stop.

You might want to stop before you realize you've just compared Philly's winning history to the Cowboys'.

Woops, LOL.

Perfect example of what I'm saying. The Dallas thread has nothing to do with what I posted, yet you have to bring it up. Odd

Anyway, iirc Football Jones started a thread or posted in a thread .... something about early playoff teams maybe, idk...he had Minny and the Rams ranked higher than the Eagles. You were in there in MINUTES complaining about it. I believe that's the "tier" stuff he's referring to

It does have something to do with it.  It's that he's bored of his own thread and nothing to talk about so he comes here instead.

I know which tier thing he's referring to.  And this week I posted 3 posts in there saying how The Rams are the clear favourite and should be alone in tier 1.  Yet he's in here today saying that I have Philly in tier 1.  He's now just making things up and hides from his claims when proven wrong.

No I didn't.  I compared Philly's history of winning in the last 23 years to the Cowboys.  Everyone is very impressed that Dallas used to be good.  I barely remember it, but I think Aikman and Smith and Irvin were a nice trio. It's ancient history and they are the laughing stock of the league these days. Jones is too senile and stubborn to hire a GM and, as a result, they have become a terrible team.

Woops. LOL

I agree.

I truly do apologize. I honestly didn't mean for this to clog up your thread.

I really just wanted to post the correction & get out, but I fell for the trap, LOL.

I'd love to have a reasonable discussion in here at times like some of the ones we've had, but certain posters make it really difficult.

I was called out 3 times for apparently saying Philly was in tier 1, so I showed him I didn't say that.  And he ran away from that and can't even say "Oh ya, you did say that actually".  Nothing more to it than that.

Your "reasonable discussion" involves one sided posts that make up what other people said, and hiding when proven wrong.  You aren't capable of reasonable unbiased discussion.

I understand why you were responding. But you are not going to get the response you want. Do you know how to stop beating your head against a wall? Stop beating your head against a wall!!

It's not a 'response I want".  If he's going to say how much he wants to be involved in reasonable discussions in here, he should probably practice reasonably discussing things and backing up his claims when proven wrong.  There should be some accountability if people want to be involved, that's all.

I'm not falling for the trap again, I promise, but this is EXACTLY what happened.

LOL.

Again, a sincere apology for anybody wanting to discuss actual relative news in here. I do like debating things, but I've got to be more careful who & how I engage.

Til next time.

Just try being truthful in your posts and you won't get so much kickback.  It's okay to be wrong sometimes.  I hope you can learn to deal with that fear.  See ya :)

eagles thread ruined by the same cowboys fan posting the same thing over and over and over again

can someone dm me when this stops again?

thx in advance

If you don't want Cowboys fans in the thread, don't constantly talk about Cowboys fans in the thread. HTH
Agreed. I have to check back in here real quick with this.

I mean, it's fun to do schtick on all when appropriate, & thick skin will prevent any butthurtness, but purposeful misquotes I'll always respond to if I see them.

That's just how I roll.

Dallas has been trying to trade for him since the off season. Would love it if Howie could come in and get him.
Thomas would no doubt help your D as a playmaker on the back end. It would also be great if you guys could get Bell, but you need cap space.

You're kind of "pinned" there & cap space is the elephant in the room.

Would Foles have to be traded?

No, Graham's salary cap hit is just 2 million below Thomas, so they could trade Graham (who is a FA at the end of the year). I don't know if the Eagles want to do that or not.

Interesting.

So essentially someone would have to be moved I guess, but no doubt Thomas would be a great acquisition.

Yes, because the Eagles only currently have about $4 million under the cap to work with, and Thomas has about a $10 million cap hit. Now the Eagles could re-do the deal with an extension to get under the cap and perhaps trade a draft pick, but that will be adding to their cap in the coming years when they will need to free up money to sign Wentz to a big long-term deal.

Yeah, Wentz is going to be the long-term issue.

It's nice to have a franchise QB, but the dynamics of the cap become that much more important in regards to acquiring other talent.

Front runner after 3 weeks?   :lmao:     Because we’ve never seen a team that looked dominant for 3 weeks and then faded away.......
I'd be even more confident about the Rams kicking everyone's ### this year, but the Talib & Peters injuries are a huge factor.

That said, injuries can't be an excuse. Get better backups, but practically, it could change their outlook drastically if either, or especially both, is long-term.

We'll have to see how the backups look.

I hate to veer away from Eagles talk, but can you name 5 NFL starters who are worse QBs than Dak Prescott?  I can't.
I love questions like this.  Hard to believe it’s only 3 hours old but buried 3 pages back.

Starting QBs worse than Dak:  Trubisky, Bethard, Keenum,  2018 Eli.  For my 5th we can debate between Carr or Mariota.

This would have been easier just a few days ago when Bradford and Peterman would have rounded out my list.  Of course I couldn’t have counted Beathard back then.

Yep. In every case you mentioned, Dak's receivers are WAY outgunned. It takes two to hook up.

He's not played especially well, but let's not hang him until we see upgraded receivers. It can hold ANY QB back. Wentz' struggles his rookie season were in large part due to not enough weapons.

Dak may not end up cutting the mustard, but let's give him a fair shake with a decent set of receivers. When Beasley is your best receiver, you have MAJOR issues.

They can definitely be caught.  Like I mentioned, there's about 6 teams in tier 2 who are either not playing well, or injured, or both, but that have the talent level to potentially make a run to the SB.  GB, Minny, Philly, Atlanta, New Orleans, Carolina.  If any of those 6 get hot they could beat the rams, but as of now its the rams conference to lose.

Football Jones was just taken behind the woodshed.  I can't help but chuckle when I see him post. He's the guy who spent all last season telling me he'd rather have Prescott than WentzJ Justin case there's any question about his football knowledge.

I do love his obsession with the Eagles. The guy makes half of his posts in the Eagles team thread. I would have loved to have a video of his reaction when the Eagles won the Superbowl last year. I guarantee he had to be talked off a ledge.
Lets be fair he aint the only Dal fan saying that. There's a lot of them out there that still believe that. I think Prescott in the NFL is an avg at best QB. Good game manager if you have the right situation like they did his rookie year. He's no Carson Wentz who could be the top QB in the NFL once Brady and Rodgers are gone and can lead a team on his back. However to be fair to Prescott he is in a not ideal situation. Both the HC and OC are complete morons in terms of what they think is right for that offense.

ugh i was worried about this:

Rodney McLeod - DB - Eagles

Eagles S Rodney McLeod is out for the season with a torn MCL.

We waited too long to get a good safety back-up. I knew when Reid signed with Carolina earlier this morning they likely did it to beat the Eagles to the punch. Not sure if there is anyone out there that is able to step in and play the deep ball well, could be tricky considering how Mills has done with deep balls this season.
I agree but I want no part of Eric Reid. It has nothing to do with his protest. After his pro bowl year at safety each of the next Seasons PFF rated him worse and worse after every season to the point a rookie Safety in SF outplayed him. To save face with such a depleted talent at LB they asked him to play LB for them. He was marginal at best from PFF standards. Also there's that players coalition thing where he agrees with Kaepernick on Jenkins not letting them in which was total BS.

I think the Eagles are more prone to trying a guy like Jalen Mills at Safety or picking up a scrap heap veteran than giving up any draft capital and cap space.

ya they'll likely keep the 'next man up' mentality going on this one.  Would like them to break the mold on this one though but we'll see.

Hey it's kind of embarrassing that the last time Dal was relevant at all was before Baker Mayfield, Sony Mitchel, Josh Allen, and Saquan Barkley among other rookies were even a twinkle in their daddy's eyes. The VHS tape is so worn out it doesn't even play the SB.

Dallas has been trying to trade for him since the off season. Would love it if Howie could come in and get him.
Could you imagine in less then 1 year at the Draft our Former best Kicker in Franchise History gives Dallas a Roasting at the draft and then Howie steals the TE they needed right from under them then in less then 5 months goes and gets the Safety Dal fans have wanted all offseason. Then Said player gets 2 picks on Prescott while stuffing Gropey hands in the backfield? The Dallas franchise might have to be put on suicide watch

More excuses........McNabb managed not to suck with Thrash and Pinkston.
