*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (3 Viewers)

ehh, really? Kirk Cousins just put up 31 on the Rams, kind of easily. Sure Rams are a formidable opponent, but it isn't like they aren't unbeatable
Goff looks amazing. The Wentz/Goff draft may go down as the best ever # 1/2 pick. Both of those guys are gonna tear up the league up for years

Don't think Mcvay has much say on that defense.  They're beatable but only by a team with a great offense.  We gotta get healthy.

Not trying to look ahead a week, but don't love playing Minny on 10 days rest after 2 straight losses.  Season on the line for them, they'll be more motivated than anything.  Though I said that about Atlanta too.  Still not an ideal time to play them.

Maybe.  I think it's a great time to bury those cockroaches

Yea. If there's ever a game to get our defensive line going, that will be it. That O-line is atrocious.

Saw a story that Mike Vrabel is begging Titan fans to come to the game Sunday so it doesn't get overrun with Eagle fans.

I really want to go, I live in North Alabama.  But prob won't make it.  I don't think this game is close

I don't know I kind of like playing them now. Plus their defense this year looks very suspect. A rookie QB just ran over them just 4 days ago

Amazing how bad Jeff Fisher can make a great QB suck. Night and day once he was gone.
Been saying that to many people. Poster on my old board was so against Foles coming back and kept saying what a good trade it was because of Nick being bad in STL. What he didn't get from what I was saying was just how bad QBs are in general under Fisher. He could make Rodgers/Brady look worse.

Vikings fans at it again. LOL

I think it's safe to say that we are no longer the sh*theads of the NFL anymore.

Some of the comments are gold.

"I actually know someone who fought at a game and they took 4 Ls. He got his ### whooped , arrested, banned from that arena, and his team Loss."

"I sure hope these people aren't reproducing"

"White on white crime... First Eminem and MGK Now this.. wat a month of September it’s been.."

"That dude got his own Jersey now Todd Gurrley/Hurrley" LOL  :lmao:

Yep. In every case you mentioned, Dak's receivers are WAY outgunned. It takes two to hook up.

He's not played especially well, but let's not hang him until we see upgraded receivers. It can hold ANY QB back. Wentz' struggles his rookie season were in large part due to not enough weapons.

Dak may not end up cutting the mustard, but let's give him a fair shake with a decent set of receivers. When Beasley is your best receiver, you have MAJOR issues.
From the beginning I've maintained that Dak looked like a competent QB a team can win with given an appropriate supporting cast, which he does not have right now. As bad as he looks right now, I still think that's true. He's not garbage, but he is not remotely in the same tier as Goff or Wentz among the younger QB's. He was, and remains, a steal for where he was drafted but the Cowboys would be foolish not to keep their eyes open for the opportunity to improve there. He looks like the kind of guy who will spend a long career in the NFL, but most of it as a (top tier) backup.

As far as Goedert goes, you have to realize your perception is the uncommon one, and as a Cowboys fan repeatedly voicing that uncommon perception in the Eagles team thread, you're going to catch a TON of grief. TBH, I have no idea how you got there or if you're just being incredibly stubborn. TE's take a couple of years to mature, if you draft one when the perception of need is greatest, you're already too late. Given the losses, Philly NEEDED another TE more then any other position on the field, albeit not a stud. They could have gone FA for it, as you say, but given the chance to take a guy who has the very real potential to develop into a stud and no other overwhelming needs, the timing was perfect IMHO. It's irritating and almost funny how you refuse to see this other perspective.

Mike Vrabel once again says #Titans need their fans to show up on Sunday. Acknowledged how a player can be caught off guard when you're the home team and the visitors have so many in the stadium.

I just got word from a Philly friend that the Aloft Hotel on West End has over 80 rooms booked by Eagles fans and the hotel will re-air the Super Bowl tomorrow morning for guests of the hotel.

The heart of my argument is you guys are trying to win back to back Super Bowls.

I wouldn't have taken Goedert given it was a fairly high pick in a strong class & you guys having other needs. Needs which would be more impactful that what amounts to a backup TE, IMO. You have a nice passing game already. Will another receiving toy help? Sure, it'll help, but it's not the direction I would've gone with Ertz rostered for awhile.

It's not like Burton & Celek were a huge part of your offense. I'm not privy to Pederson's plans, but I kinda doubt he's running 12 personnel full-time when everyone is healthy. Pederson is a tinkerer & staying with one package isn't his MO.

However, I do like Goedert quite a bit. Easily my #1 TE in this class, but that's not the point here. What was the best pick to win back to back Super Bowls? It's not often you get a legit window to win it all in the NFL with the cap & all the rules favoring parity.

That said, I'm open to seeing what happens. It's not wrong if it works out.

i heard something like 2500 Eagles fans at least. Sounds strange to want to go to Nashville for a road trip. Would much rather save up, and go to LA if need be in the playoffs. That game will be a hoot if the Rams get home field advantage. there will be more Eagles fans there even during the playoffs

Feels like a 20-10 game to me. Maybe a 27-13 one. Our D should be able to handle their offense and I expect a decent jump for Wentz this week.

How many times can I repeatedly state a false narrative( TE wasn’t a need for eagles) and not care when people difinitively price me wrong?   Apparently infinite.

Best part is you keep stating you like goedert as a prospect so you can’t be wrong.   If he pans out you liked him as a prospect.  If he doesn’t you thought it was a bad pick.  Give it up, it’s a joke at this point

I thought I heard more Minny fans on THRS then LA fans too

My favorite part here Burton wasn't a huge part of our offense. Yeah he only threw the TD on the Philly Special and helped win at least one game Ertz was out last year. He was more impactful then Dez was.  :lmao:

I know you don't get it, but I stated my reasoning quite explicitly.

It makes total sense. Again, I do like Goedert, but it was still an odd pick at very minimum regardless if he pans out. It's irrelevant.

That's the bottom line.

This narrative kills me.

"Burton was a big part of our offense".

And then you woke up, LOL.

My advice is to just accept criticism of the pick.

It'll pan out if it was a good pick.

We'll know soon enough. It's not rocket science.

All the people that I know who have been to Nashville say it is dope

I won’t even ask for a specific player. With this roster as constructed, what other position being drafted in the middle of round 2 would be more impactful than Goeddert who is an immediate—and 4 year cheap— plug and play in 12 personnel?

I've already answered that, but real quick, I remember some of you guys wanting Guice. I would've been on board with that. Your RBBC is ok, but Guice would've been a nice addition to go with your already top passing game.

Considering your Super Bowl window, my other suggestions would likely have been on D, specifically the back end. I know some Philly guys are wanting to trade for Thomas if you can swing it (which makes sense). It's not like your secondary hasn't been vulnerable.

Can we all just ignore the Cowgirl fan? It's obvious he's looking for attention.
Actually, Philly fans are bringing me plenty of attention. I don't even have to try, LOL. Your thin skin gets you guys in a lot of hot water.

Eagles fans are welcome to post any opinions they have in the Cowboys thread if they're as well-reasoned as my argument regarding the Goedert pick.

We may not agree, but you need to bring valid points to the discussion. I'm always open to debating things realistically.

You recall the Stanley Cup in Nashville a few years ago?  That city is passionate about sports!  Much rather go there (for a sporting event) than a city like LA where the fans probably don't even know that a team exists.

There’s a certain function on this board that one can perform if one no longer wishes to see/acknowledge a certain person’s posts. It may be of use in this circumstance.

Let’s see how many times I can get you to post the same exact thing?

I understand you don’t think TE was a need for the eagles, but you are factually incorrect in that regard, as has been proven over and over again

At this point most people would find a new angle or move on

Said it before, but the Goedert pick is almost identical to the Ertz pick.  It's not out of character to take a "2nd TE" high for them.

Absolutely nothing has been proven either way, especially the take that Goedert was the best pick for you to win another Super Bowl.

I've made valid points, but all I hear is the same dead explanation. Replacing Burton, blah, blah, etc.

BTW, you guys are engaging ME. I'll decide when I move on, but typically I will move on unless you re-engage me.

I'm not sure what else to tell you.

You’re never open to debating things realistically and you’re quite honestly the most arrogant, stubborn poster on this board (IMO).  And I’m not an Eagles fan so I’m just calling it as I see it.

You claim te was not a need

Factual evidence is posted to prove te was a need

you make same claim

and we go round and round again
