Hard to tell how things would've played out but it's pretty bad as it is right now.A question for Yankees homers: is Joe's non-challenge worse if the Yanks had been swept or if they lose Game 5?
That isn't going to happen. Our best chance is a lucky homerun or two and CC pitching a six inning gem, then the bullpen does its job to eek out another low scoring win.shadyridr said:On to game 5! Hopefully we can hit Kluber again
I don't. Holiday has been horrible all year. At least those other 2 have had hot stretches.Ellsbury at DH tonight. Headley and Ellsbury 0-14 in the series. Wish they would just give Holiday a shot.
He essentially doesn't have to throw it over at all.Ump is horrible but ill take it
And yet kluber still suckedHe essentially doesn't have to throw it over at all.
Exactly. CC took adv of it. Klubs didn't. Or he's on your payroll !And yet kluber still sucked
Really? I can. He had a brief respite in September, but this is the Judge we saw for months after the All-Star break. Can't believe how bad judge has been
That AB by Garner was his Yankee moment. He just wore Allen down to the bone, then smacked the ball in his face. What a ####### at bat!
I'm encouraged that he does take pitches. But they've started throwing him that low / away curve on hitters counts - 2-0, 3-1, etc, and he always falls for it. He already knows how to take walks - he just needs more discipline to handle that curveball that seems to get him every time. He'll come around. It'll be like Bonds was - you either pitch to me, or I'll happily take the walk.Really? I can. He had a brief respite in September, but this is the Judge we saw for months after the All-Star break.
The thing to keep in mind is he's just a rookie trying to adjust to the game adjusting to him. I guarantee he works hard at lowering his strikeout numbers during the offseason.
Judge will be a .300, 50HR, 120RBI hitter in 2018, bank on it.
ETA: Don't forget, if it wasn't for Judge we may not have won the ALDS. Remember the 2 run HR he robbed? Who else could make that catch? Who else is a 6.7" giant?
Great game. Keuchel was better. Not gonna lose sleep over this game.Agreed.
One nice thing: Tanaka seems to be "back." Despite those two runs, he's pitched a hell of a game through 6.
Not so fast, my friend....Judge is gonna whiff the yankees right out of this series. He's an automatic out right now.
Where does Torres play then?I really hope they resign both CC and the Toddfather. Give CC a respectable 1 year offer and sign Todd for three.
Yea, Frazier's average isn't great, but the power is there, the defense is there, and the spirit & leadership are near essential for a team this young. Frazier is a great crossbreed between Mariano (heart & soul) and Swisher (power plant of enthusiasm). He loves playing in the Bronx and the dugout gravitates to him. You gotta have guys like that in the clubhouse.
Torres will be a 2018 September call up. He wasn't ready before the injury, now he needs to work himself back.Where does Torres play then?
They also have Miguel Andujar and want to desperately get under the luxury tax threshold. I'd say CC is the priority and as good as a clubhouse guy as Frazier is at age 32 he'll almost assuredly command a multi year deal and signing just blocks too many prospects. I'd be shocked if they resign him.Torres will be a 2018 September call up. He wasn't ready before the injury, now he needs to work himself back.
So maybe sign Frazier for 2 years, as insurance against Torres struggling.
Yeah, this. Frazier has been a great clubhouse guy and has done some great stuff in some key moments. Its painfully obvious how bad he wants to be here. They also have Miguel Andujar and want to desperately get under the luxury tax threshold.
