Ya know what—I forgot about this. It’s TE premium and I have Jarrod Cook (Kittle my regular TE). So one WR and a flex and I gotta select from Kenny G, Kupp, Ward and Cook. Pick two. This’ll drive me nuts for 4 days...

Howie and Doug are pulling a long con on the rest of the division. Let the Giants think they have a solid O-line and Eli has something left in the tank, made Haskins look like a star QB, and this week they're gonna let Dak and Cooper rack up TDs so the Cowboys have to tie up huge, long-term cap dollars.

All this 3-dimensional chess will pay off in 2-3 years.  :pickle:

Just prelim flex ranks out now (better ones released tomorrow) but DD has them: 
KG:  29
Cook: 63
Kupp:  73
Ward: 94

I think he has Kenny too high and Ward too low, so would personally have them around:
KG:  50
Cook 60
Kupp:  65
Ward:  70

I still start Kenny and Cook for sure.

EDT:  This is with the 1.5 TE PPR scoring format.

This is out of control.  Is there anyone out there who charts injuries or injury significance to a team? (I feel like I saw this last year somewhere online where weights were given based on games missed and quality of player).

Curious to see how our stack up to the rest of the league.  Maybe we just see ours more in the forefront because we follow the team so closely but would love to see some sort of statistical comparison with just how affected we've been by injury this year compared to other teams.

I don't know how useful or relevant this link is (or even if it's completely current) but it looks like the Redskins have been hit the hardest based on just cash value lost this year.  Of course it has its limitations because you can't tie cash value of a player to actual value.  And this is just an IR tracker.  Regardless, Washington has lost a TON of key players since the start of the year.

Ya like you said, this is just IR, not total games missed.  Also, losing Alex Smith's 20 mil this year to IR boosts them a lot in that chart, and they might be better without him.  Wish there was something out there that showed games/snaps missed to injury based on some sort of PFF ranking or something and also take into account what players its left us with.  Losing Nelson might not give us many 'points' on such a chart like that, but at this point he's an improvement over Josh McCown as our WR3/4.

There's something out there for total games missed due to injury. I remember one year (1st or 2nd Chip Kelly season) when we were best in the NFL (with the lowest total.) Sports science and smoothies were all the rage...

PFF has us as the most injured team in the league last year and a couple weeks ago we were first again. Not sure where we are now though. 

 
Meh. All the talk was how the defense was finally healthy and they have been trashed every game since.  Can’t cover anybody. Can’t tackle.  49rs hurt way worse. Unless you are only talking receivers

Why does every Eagles player always get hurt?

An NFL analytics site, Football Outsiders, determined that Eagles had the most games lost last season after ranking 13th in 2017. Data from this year won’t be available until after the season, but they’ll presumably be close to the top.

Overall, some 122 different players have gotten into a game for the Eagles since opening day 2017. Of the 12 winningest teams in the league during that three-year span, that’s the most.

:goodposting: yeah it isn't so much the overall losses, though that is highly significant too. It is about which positions. when the Eagles were playing their 5th and 6th CBs as the starters, and the Eagles lose their #2 and #3 DT the first 2 weeks, it hurt bad. Fletcher Cox has had a bad year, but losing both those guys for the majority of the year (pretty much all year because i don't know what jerrigan is giving them now). Really can't be overstated.

If a team only has 3 injuries, but those injuries are QB!, QB2, and QB3 it will hurt the team

 
I'm not falling for this "Dak may have a torn rotator cuff" business. The last game against the Cowboys their list of "injuries" was a mile long and Cooper was talked about like he wouldn't ever play another down. Then, come game time, the team was basically full-strength.

I honestly think Losing DeSea and Alshon wearing down and getting hurt was a good thing in one regard for the Eagles. Had Agholor had a good year we may have made the terrible choice of extending him with more money now towards him. Losing DeSean and Alshon not being him exposed Agholors faults. This isn't saying Nelly is a terrible player but more or less he is not a #1 #2 or #3 WR. He's a nice filler if your Slot guy gets hurt and a nice gadget play maybe return specialist.

I agree that they should not resign Nelson.

But I will give him credit for stepping up in the 2017 playoffs when he caught 15 of 18 targets including 9 of 11 in the Super Bowl.

Well, in fairness if Agholor had a good year, that might have mean he was improving his faults, not regressing. But as is - yes, he's just limited in what he can do. I'm sure he'll get picked up somewhere, but he blew his chance at a big contract this year.

 
I was thinking about he Eagles and their long history of having under performing WRs.  It seems like they have a difficult time developing drafted WRs into decent starters.

They've had a different WR coach for each of the past 5 years. No idea what the issue is, but as a fan it's frustrating. I can count on one hand the number of receivers worth a damn they drafted in the past 30 years. Top of my head I have Jackson, Maclin, Jason Avant, Fred Barnett and Calvin Williams. Depressing.

They’re just bad players. It’s not like any of them materialized into anything, anywhere. 

And one guy was in the front office for all of them

I went back 30 years, not all Howie, just recently (or Joe Douglas, who the hell knows). This team has a weird blind spot to WRs.
