I mean so far Hurts has looked like rookie Carson. Using his legs to get yardage and extend the play.Or maybe we can become the QB factory and trade Hurts for a 2nd round pick.

Yep. Like the bad is the sum of many parts so is the first half of this game.I mean so far Hurts has looked like rookie Carson. Using his legs to get yardage and extend the play.
I thought the Giants had turned the corner and then today happened. You just don't know what will happen in this league. So eagles win and wash loses and suddenly we're half game out if first,![]()
Cut kickerStep 1: bench quarterback.
Step 2: bench kicker?

Another awful contract tooCut kicker
It’s a win that makes Doug look even worse IMO.The exact game plan we expected. Miles Sanders, short passes, roll outs and zone reads for Hurts. Solid defense.
So now we ruin our draft pick just enough, still lose the division. Trade Carson to Indy. Hurts comes back down to earth next year.
But people won't see it that way. It’s a win that makes Doug look even worse IMO.
Why didn't we see this plan in any of the previous 12 games? This is winning footballThe exact game plan we expected. Miles Sanders, short passes, roll outs and zone reads for Hurts. Solid defense.

That's exactly the problem. Carson wouldn't have looked nearly as bad or get as shell shocked if we ran the damn ball. Why didn't we see this plan in any of the previous 12 games? This is winning football
Did Doug decide “I’m genuinely at risk of getting fired, I should start doing things differently”?Most complete game they played all season. Balanced offense. Over 200yds rushing. Solid defense. Just wish they would have done that at any point in time before now.
He does it every time he goes to the backup. When it's carson we need to have him throw it 40+ times because he's being paid $100m apparently.Did Doug decide “I’m genuinely at risk of getting fired, I should start doing things differently”?
Reid was the same. All passing when McNabb was playing but a balanced attack when the Jeff Garcia types were playing. He does it every time he goes to the backup. When it's carson we need to have him throw it 40+ times because he's being paid $100m apparently.
Why he's been our best player all season. Pro Bowl year for our Punter.Guess Doug decided to bench Cam Johnston, too!
ANY GIVEN SUNDAY. It's why I love the NFL. Unlike the NBA you know you got a chance every year. NBA unless you put some super team together hope for a fairytale catch lightening in the bottom because there's no point in watching.I thought the Giants had turned the corner and then today happened. You just don't know what will happen in this league.
The Jabronies won't see it that way. Hopefully Lurie doesn't fall for it either. It’s a win that makes Doug look even worse IMO.
I don’t even care about the QB’s. If ANY Eagles fan watched all games and came away from this one thinking anything other than “WHERE TF WAS THIS PLAYCALLING AND DESIGN EARLIER?!” I don’t know what to say.Narrative already starting.
Seth Joyner: "This is the same number of carries Miles Sanders always gets. Carson just sucks."
I thought we had a 0% chance to beat the Saints. And this win moves us from 4th to 9th in the draft
Yep and IIRC you didn’t give yours and the highest was like 20%I thought we had a 0% chance to beat the Saints.
Yes I did not think it would happen. My whole point from that entire back and forth was that NOTHING is a "lock" or 100% but you guys kept sticking to the fact that the chance to win today was ZERO. Nothing is 0% in the NFL.Yep and IIRC you didn’t give yours and the highest was like 20%![]()
Didn’t realize all of that meant so much to you.Yes I did not think it would happen. My whole point from that entire back and forth was that NOTHING is a "lock" or 100% but you guys kept sticking to the fact that the chance to win today was ZERO. Nothing is 0% in the NFL.
Not a bad prediction, except for the score. My score prediction lines up with yours pretty much exactly. Hurts 150 yds passing 70 yds rushing with 2 turnovers.
Gameplan needs to be all about space. Saints mostly play 2 high over man against spread looks, which means a light box. Also makes it tough to keep a spy on Hurts with that look.
So, spread to run with Miles, designed runs for Hurts and zone read. It’s tough to go deep against this coverage, but take the underneath matchups. Need to see some slants, crossers to beat man underneath. how about we bring back Chip’s mesh / wheel play for the day? The ran it with Foles so it’s been in Doug’s playbook at some point.
Figured you'd try to turn the script with something like that.Bigboy10182000 said:Didn’t realize all of that meant so much to you.
Wouldn't doubt it. The switch may have come from above.modogg said:Doug press conference was weird. the guys from Birds with Friends said it too, but really was Doug praises Carson on losing games then he praised Jalen tonight. it was like Doug doesn't like Hurts at all

With Wentz. 35-33-1.
He just calls it differently with the backup.
read up Molol, Eagles are 11-2 with Doug coaching back-up QBs
There’s no script to flip. It’s like some strange moral victory even though you thought they’d lose too. You can win, lose or tie. You don’t get extra credit for predicting a loss but with a different percentageFigured you'd try to turn the script with something like that.
Either way, the "lock" of the top 5 pick didn't happen. Which sucks... some amazing players in the top 5 next year, this win is really going to hurt us next year for many reasons.
Not really at all. I said we had a small chance. That chance happened. You said it was not possible for us to win. Big difference. There’s no script to flip. When he has the back ups in he is so creative and keeps defenses guessing. Today and the SB run are perfect examples and why you can feel like punching him when you watch the previous 12 weeksInsein said:Doug Peterson with backup QBs. 11-3.

Not me. I had them at 50/50 to win the division. Remember last year? There’s no script to flip. It’s like some strange moral victory even though you thought they’d lose too. You can win, lose or tie. Whatever makes you feel better lol. You thought lose and so did I....Not really at all. I said we had a small chance. That chance happened. You said it was not possible for us to win. Big difference.
Yep and I never got that PM from you either. Guessing you missed my reply huh?I thought 0-4 was a 100% lock. Some of the fans in here make the coach look like Lombardi
Interesting for sure. He really doesn’t have a feel for how to run an offense with Carson it seems. Even in his rookie year Doug loves to go 40+ passes with him. He just sees him in a different lightDoug's record with backups and the differences in the gameplans we see in those situations is an interesting thing.
How much of the difference is down to Carson's preferences vs. Doug's choices, I wonder?
Haha jeez so defensiveWhatever makes you feel better lol. You thought lose and so did I....
I’m not making pages out of this man lol
Or is it just less pressure?Doug's record with backups and the differences in the gameplans we see in those situations is an interesting thing.

More questions for Doug. It shows you how great he can be and at the same time how stupid he has beenMaybe it’s time to give Doug credit and question Wentz
Question how? Carson is not the coach. He doesn't call the plays. He's not a pitcher waving off a catcher to get a better pitch to throw. He runs the play that is called or audibles to a play that is also decided for him. Doug has chosen to not run his stud RB in the 2nd half the last 4 weeks since he's been back from injury until today. He's chosen not to roll carson out or do RPOs with him. He's chosen to have long developing routes for the WRs and 5&7 step drops for Carson to run. Yet he choose none of those things with a backup. So I'd say he has a lot of justified questions coming his way.Maybe it’s time to give Doug credit and question Wentz
