I'm the opposite on this. I prefer Mexico and Costa Rica fail miserably in these tournaments just like I enjoy seeing conference rivals get curb-stomped in college football. Even Canada - I don't fee any hate for them but definitely don't support them to win any games. Its probably because I'm pretty much a massive ###hole in real life.

My buddy just sent me a video from the Belgium match. He's from Morocco originally, and I assume he is having as much fun as allowed in that country.

This in the same calendar year when both his favorite club teams won Champions League, and Africa Champions League, and he attended both games (same week). As a fan, had himself quite a year.

CR looked poor through out qualifying but were just annoying enough to get through it

I did not watch as I was asleep but the stats seemed heavy in Japan's favor. Seems like it may have been one of those games

Iran having a good chance to advance is probably one of the biggest suprises of the tournament. The players have had nothing but constant distractions from all the off the field stuff.

This seems like a massive backtrack to me and my first impression is its a bad look for USSoccer. "It was just a 24 hour thing where we supported Iranian women. We'll change it back now." I would say don't do anything if you're not going to own it.
