**OFFICIAL 2025 Draft Thread - Green Bay Opens The Door For Guests** (1 Viewer)

I think the problem for Sanders is that teams view him more as a developmental guy whose value was significantly increased by the play of Hunter. Taking a guy like that in the 2nd or 3rd round would typically be fine, but it becomes a different story when that player’s camp has made it abundantly clear that they have expectations for how he’ll be treated.

If a player is a lock to be a year 1 starter they’ll put up with some ego from a rookie QB. If he’s more likely to be a backup or a guy who is going to have to fight to beat out a mediocre vet for the starting role, I think teams are hesitant to risk alienating their locker room over a guy who might ride the bench all year.

Texans traded back, then traded up twice.

Did they come out ahead from all those shenanigans?

I can't even tell anymore. Here's their picks coming and going throughout the night:

  • Round 1, No. 2 (traded to NYG)
  • Round 2, Pick 34 (From NYG) - WR Jayden Higgins, Iowa State
  • Round 2, No 48 (From LV) - OT Aireontae Ersery, Minnesota
  • Round 2, No. 58 (traded to LV)
  • Round 3, No. 79 (from WAS) - WR Jaylon Noel, Iowa State
  • Round 3, No. 89 (traded to JAX)
  • Round 3, No 99 (From NYG traded to LV)
  • Round 3, No 97 (from MIN) - CB Jaylin Smith, USC
  • Round 3, No 102 (from JAX to MIN)
  • Round 5, No 142 (from JAX to MIN)
  • Round 6, No. 179 (from CLE)
  • Round 6, No 187 (from Minny)
  • Round 6, No 216 (from CLE)
  • Round 7, No. 236 (from WAS)
  • Round 7, No. 241
  • Round 7, No 255 (From CLE)

So how much money do we think Sanders has lost with this fall?
Is there a bottom?
The reality is after the 1st round it doesn't matter, he's almost better off at this point going UDFA so he's a free agent inside of 3 seasons
He must have really left a bad impression on the teams he spoke with, guess the Pro Day didn't do much to help his cause either

I thought he was over hyped but I never saw this much of a free fall coming

NFLN is in death watch mode because Sanders hasn’t been picked yet.
Yeah discussion of his potentially returning to college.

Dude was siting in the draft room on day 1.

Ouch.
Does he have legibility? Would make more NIL than his NFL paycheck.
He hasn't signed a contract yet so too early to know
They came in to say he could *not* go back to college.

He’d have to get a new number.

He's taking a substantial pay cut from last year. Last year he made $6.5 million, this year. Last year pick 100 got a four year deal for $6 million.

His NIL income doesn’t go to zero in the NFL. A low draft pick doesn’t help but he’ll still have good brand revenue regardless.
Sure, I'd hire him for $100 to sit in one of my open houses for 2 hours as long as he brought the leftover snacks and drinks back to the office.

Texans trade up to 3.33 (97) from Minny. Looks like Houston gave... 102, 142, and got 97 and a 6th?

If so, I don't like it at all. Basically moved back 8 spots to gain a 6th. Paid as much to move back up as they got to originally move back. Reminds me of the bad Metchie trade a few years ago. And everything I am reading says this corner was a 5th or 6th round guy.

Edit: I am now finding some articles saying he was a big sleeper and could go as early as late 3rd. He had visits with at least 7 teams including the Texans.

Sometimes you are trading to just buy time.
Upon Stout?

I know nothing about this dude. But he’s a CB, so I’ll trust Saleh.
Actually he was the best pick relative to ranking outside of their 1st rounder.
