***official*** all things Microsoft Xbox One (1 Viewer)

That water looks unbelievable in the boat part.

Looks like it's running on a PC though. Note the backspace next to "battlelog"

I wonder what comes with the $499 model... are they gonna have multiple versions of it or just one? Different sized hard drives?

Just a related note:

A new model of the Xbox 360 was just revealed on stage by Yusuf Mehdi. It's inspired by the Xbox One design, and is available today!

Along with the announcement, Xbox Live Gold is being upgraded to a PlayStation Plus-style model, with two free games per month through the release of the One. First up: Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed 2. New and current XBL Gold members will get the games for free, to keep, starting July 1.

Disappointed in the Battlefield 4 demo. They were supposed to show the first multiplayer demo during the Microsoft presser, but wound up showing a single player demo. Looked good, but I want to see a multiplayer demo.

I wasn't sure about Titanfall until the gameplay footage. Could be a system seller. It looked really good.

I thought the B4 demo looked great, but I'm looking forward to some multiplayer footage also.

Titanfall is going to be a hit I think.

will a person keep these games for play on XBoxOne or is it kind of like pushing out inventory at the end of the life cycle knowing it won't sell much anymore once the new thing is out?

I said what I said about the Battlefield 4 demo because the majority of Battlefield 4 players don't even touch the single player. That's also the case with FBG Battlefield players. I think I'm the only Battlefield 3 PC player here that admitted to playing the campaign. I agree that it looked great, but when only 5% of the player base even touches it, focus on the multiplayer like the old days (when a single player Battlefield meant playing against bots).

I agree... but they are just saving some stuff for a later reveal. Gotta string us nerds out. ;)

They won't be able to run on XBOX One without tons of work. That's the problem with backwards compatibility, no matter how many people don't get it. So if I had to guess I'd say they're only playable on XBOX 360.

They specifically said that XBL transfers to the One, today.

XBL account will transfer, but your games will not. I would not be surprised if some publishers gave access to the XB1 versions if/when they come out, but they haven't announced anything.

So they're giving a 6 year old game and a 4 year old game to people who are paying them a monthly fee for the next few months?

That's really not all that impressive...

You can keep the games forever, on your 360 console. You don't need to be online to use them once they're downloaded. They are 360 classics, and if you haven't played them, or sold them to GameStop, or whatever, you can add them to your game library. They didn't have to do this, and it's awesome that they did. It doesn't have to be impressive. It's just a cool thing to do.

Tell me more about how to set up these emulators....
http://www.emulator-zone.com/

Can get emulators for pretty much all systems up to the PS2/Xbox generation. Apparently there is even one for PS3, but I would not mess with it.

As far as the games go, you will have to search for those on your own. Torrent sites usually have a large batch of games in one zip file - especially when talking about SNES and NES games, they are only around 4-5 Megs, which is about the same size as a crappy-quality MP3. So it is literally not a problem to have every NES/SNES game ever made on your PC.

Using USB controllers makes it so that you can play games with a PS3 or xbox 360 controller, so the original systems don't have any advantage whatsoever.

Never got AC2 so I'm cool with it.

They have the advantage of nostalgia. Popping the cartridge in gives me a better feeling than clicking a file on my pc.

I have to say that I would have bet a few months ago I would have been a release day Xbox purchaser. The integration between the Kinect, internet, and Bluray it looks cool, but this is more of a novelty for me as I already have devices that do all of these things. I don't care about used games, but what I do care about is that my headsets may not work on XB1 and if my internet goes out for any period of time that I won't be able to play. To pay $499 to possibly not play games is not very appealing.

BTW, I did find it funny that they showed the PC version in the demo and it wasn't playing off of Xbox One.

I haven't played any Assassin's Creed games so since I have XBL Gold that is a nice little give back. I'll try it and maybe even get into the series a bit. Probably the same with some others they'll release. I rarely buy a game day one. Skyrim is the only one I got at full price near launch in years.

But it was running out of the engine, so does it matter much?
