Some plays for me:

Boston -130 (Tavares) @ Seattle (Weaver) - ACTION Weaver (sea)

Let's see....last time Tavares went out there, I'm pretty sure he threw a gem against the Braves. Boston just took 2 out of 3 against a very decent Padres team, and now fly just up the coast...back to some good ole AL action where Big Papi doesn't have to wear himself out jogging out to first base. And who do they get? Jeff "definition of gascan" Weaver. Weaver so far this season is sporting a very respectable 1.86 WHIP to go with his era north of 8.50. Weaver got the best of the powerhouse Pirates and Cubs to bring his numbers DOWN to their current position. I may have gotten a little better line if I jumped on this one earlier, but to be honest, -130 is a gift. The only reason it is so low is Tavares is pitching. If any other pitcher is going for the sox, you're looking at -200+...maybe Wakefield only at -175. I'll take my chances here.

Colorado -110 (Francis) @ Chicago (Marguis)

Last year I swore off ever betting on another Cubs game ever again. :)

RL parlay:

Atlanta (Hudson) -1.5 vs Expos (Bergmann)

Milwaukee (Sheets) -1.5 vs Astros (Jennings)

Braves are ice cold, losing their last 5 games. However, that was against the Red Sox and Tigers. Now they get some home cooking vs an albeit hot Expos team. However, Braves are sending out perhaps their best starter right now in Hudson who has a very respectable 1.15 WHIP and ERA under 3.50. Washington throws out one of the harder luck pitchers of the early part of the year in Jason Bergmann....however the guy hasn't pitched in 6 weeks. Gonna be some rust out there, and I can't imagine him going too deep into the game. I have to think the Braves bats come alive sooner or later and I hope Huddy gives me a solid effort.

Milwaukee sports a 12 game lead over the Astros right now, and I have a feeling by week end the Stros are done. Their hitting is coming around a bit...however tonight they go against Ben Sheets who, when healthy, has historically kept the Astros pretty well in check. Milwaukee's offense is pretty decent at home, and tonight they get Jason Jennings who is okay, when not getting cortisone shots in his elbow. But the real reason to fade the Astros is that bullpen is HORRIBLE. I think I have a nice advantage in starters and a huge advantage in the pen. I'll lay the RL. Both of these games went from like -180 or so straight to +110-+130 on the RL. I considered playing each one for a unit, but I decided to go for it with the parlay as I feel pretty strong on each.

g'luck

p.s. this new board sucks and I may very well end posting unless they can fix this. NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice hit on the Parlay. I'll root for Boston to close out as I liked this play quite a bit but couldn't get -130.

:hot:

Hit a nice parlay which assured me a winning night. Rockies score 6 in the top of the ninth to take the lead :towelwave: Only to blow it in the bottom of the ninth :X I hate the Cubs with the fiery passion of ten red dwarf stars. And then I go to bed with the Sox up 2-1 in the 4th, figuring a Weaver implosion is simply ineviteble. But, no, they cannot get any one to score, and then the Seattle bullpen comes in and these guys are simply unhittable. :hot: :hot: Well, I can't complain...but it could have been a very big night for me.

Strong leans today on Arizona -105 and Toronto -105 (these were last night's lines. Not sure if they are still -105).

Like the over 9.5 in the Pitt/Florida game and it was +105 last night. Willis doesn't look right to me and Maholm is good for some runs.

Mild leans to some heavy dogs, but not sure I have the means to back them.

Rangers are playing great ball and Detroit is too, but Robertson has been extremely hittable and Texas really lit the Tigers up last night. Texas +183 is really tempting. And I'm also tempted by Guthrie and the Orioles at +140 going up against the Evil Empire. I think this kid has been lights out thus far, but I'm not sure my heart is ready to back the Balt BP quite yet.

Back after a short hiatus... leaving again on Friday for Vaca, but in the meantime...

I found this at Statfox:

The Super Situation favoring Cleveland is the following:

PLAY AGAINST all teams when the money line is +125 to -125 which are weak offensive teams (<=4.5 runs/game) against an average starting pitcher (ERA=4.70 to 5.70)-AL, after scoring two runs or less.

Sportsbook.com has listed Oakland as a -121 road favorite with Haren and Lee pitching. The system has been cleaning up with 35-12 74.5 percent record over the last five years and steady as it goes 16-4 over the last three seasons, collecting +12.4 units.

Cleveland looks like a play based on this;

SD is a chase play;

I like the Wash/ATL Over based on the lack of starting pitching being offered by both clubs this eveing;

I LIke the LA Dodgers today as well. Billingsley has been outstanding out of the pen, and now gets his second start of this season. This kid should have been starting all along;

I think GM is onto something with Texas tonight and the price is right;

CWS +131 is a gift IMHO. Shield did not fare well his last time out and CWS is a desperate team;

Seattle -131: King Felix looked great last time out and Boston is on the West coast. King Felix also had a great outing earlier this year against Boston, in Boston, on National TV. I think Seattle gets it done here.

Add in the fact that Haren pretty much got torched in his two starts against Cleveland last year and you probably do have a very playable home dog here.We were looking at Haren earlier and scratched it off, don't think we have the will to take Cleveland now but I think it very well could be a good play. Victor Martinez is 5 for 7 so far against Haren and Sizemore and Burke also have good numbers in that small sample range.

Big price on CHISOX but boy do they suck right now. That team seems like they have quit. I don't know if anything is a gift with them. I would agree that Tampa is unplayable at that number but Chicago is still risky.We are on Boston. Felix was good last time out but he has had some duds lately and Gabbard pitched well against Seattle last year. Think the team with the better record finds a way to win here, Boston at odds of over +120 are pretty much automatics for us.

Been enjoying this thread of late but not posting plays. It seems to be bad luck for me during an otherwise exceptional run right now...

Bah. Even with my big bet win....I managed to lose 9 bucks last night. oh well. Hopefully my work internet stays up all day so I don't have to rush my plays (although the Cleveland play was a rush/tail job...so :rolleyes: )

Thanks for the Cleveland winner last night :thumbup:

The Syndiate is reeling after an 0-3 night last night. The 3 losers included 2 extra inning one run losses and a Boston loss that included 3 comebacks by the Red Sox in that game to give us a glimmer of hope along the way.

To the Blue Jays, Diamondbacks and Red Sox, I humbly say this:

FARKING BLOW ME, YOU SPERM STAINS.

not a lot to get excited about this afternoon;

may have a play or two for tonight. I think Cincy +127 is a nice price on Harang; I also like Min -135 but am not sold at all on that play either.

A lot of heavy favorites today, maybe I will throw a couple together in a parlay :kicksrock:

GM and I have a few circled that we agree on..

Dodgers-Arizona OVER 7.5 -110

White Sox -116- Buerhle over Sonnastine. Maybe getting off schnide last night will do something for Chisox, very winnable game here.

Baltimore +120- Bedard over Clemens. Saying prayers for Balto bullpen now.

Toronto +125- Fade on Bonser at that price. I know Towers isn't good but if it comes down to hitting, I will take Toronto in this contest, their bats are definately on an upswing of late.

The big dogs I like today are Washington +220 and Pittsburgh +160. Don't think my partner agrees but Washington will play hard and Bowie is going for 5th straight win. Wash 7-0 with Bowie starting this year. Smoltz has two losses to Wash this year already. Think its worth a flyer at the price. Pittsburgh is more of a Fla fade as they have lost 3 in a row and doesn't seem like FLA ever scores many runs for Mitre. The guy Pitt has pitching was a first round pick many years ago and pitched decent vs AL Seattle last time out. Still getting pitch count up, he is coming off injury.

I think the Yanks & Braves win tonight, GL fellas

Day baseball:

Give me the o9.5 -125 in the Brewers/Astros game

Neither starting pitcher is nails (Williams/Suppan), and add to that fact the Astros have the worst bullpen I've probably ever seen in my life (mild exaggeration) and I'll take my chances again with the over.

I also like o8 (even) in the SF (Cain)/ SD (Maddux) game. I would have preferred 7 1/2....but I'm just taking a small bit of a play here.

g'luck

Nice job :pickle:
Watching the ESPN gamecast is like getting tortured. First guy up makes an out and then Sizemore walks....next batter Casey Blake. Dude hits a fly ball to deep left field (for those of you that don't know they actually show the ball when it is hit in play on a graphical representation of the field they are playing at :lmao: ) and I stand up from my chair in anticipation of it going out. Right as the ball hits its peak, it drops like a rock right before the warning track. :hot: Well that sucked, but wait Victor Martinez walks on 4 straight pitches :eek: Then Hafner steps up to the plate and I get the dreaded message:The incoming pitch has been hit in play :mellow:

Approx. 60 seconds later the message pops up that he doubles to left and ties the game. :shock:

Next guy up walks and then Kelly Shoppach steps to the dish:

The incoming pitch has been hit in play :shock: :mellow:

30 more seconds of waiting before the score changes from 5-5 to 8-5....

WOW. I can't take much more of this ####. :unsure: :excited:

:lmao: I hate watching that gamecast stuff. It kills me. I used to watch that stupid little football on the NFL one. The MLB one kills me. Waiting for the ball to turn blue knowing it is in play and waiting 30 seconds to see what happened.

cbssportsline has a gamecast also. In-game it sucks, but the main page where all the games are shown is updated fairly quickly. And no fly-ball teases.

As long as you both realize that there is no correlation between you betting on a game and then posting it on a message board, with the actual outcome of the game, you should be ok.

I like the OVER 9.5 +100 in the Pitt/Fla matchup, but need my esteemed colleague to weigh in here.

Also think Texas is a play at long odds, but know I won't get a green light on this one.
