Some plays for me:
Boston -130 (Tavares) @ Seattle (Weaver) - ACTION Weaver (sea)
Let's see....last time Tavares went out there, I'm pretty sure he threw a gem against the Braves. Boston just took 2 out of 3 against a very decent Padres team, and now fly just up the coast...back to some good ole AL action where Big Papi doesn't have to wear himself out jogging out to first base. And who do they get? Jeff "definition of gascan" Weaver. Weaver so far this season is sporting a very respectable 1.86 WHIP to go with his era north of 8.50. Weaver got the best of the powerhouse Pirates and Cubs to bring his numbers DOWN to their current position. I may have gotten a little better line if I jumped on this one earlier, but to be honest, -130 is a gift. The only reason it is so low is Tavares is pitching. If any other pitcher is going for the sox, you're looking at -200+...maybe Wakefield only at -175. I'll take my chances here.
Colorado -110 (Francis) @ Chicago (Marguis)
Last year I swore off ever betting on another Cubs game ever again.
RL parlay:
Atlanta (Hudson) -1.5 vs Expos (Bergmann)
Milwaukee (Sheets) -1.5 vs Astros (Jennings)
Braves are ice cold, losing their last 5 games. However, that was against the Red Sox and Tigers. Now they get some home cooking vs an albeit hot Expos team. However, Braves are sending out perhaps their best starter right now in Hudson who has a very respectable 1.15 WHIP and ERA under 3.50. Washington throws out one of the harder luck pitchers of the early part of the year in Jason Bergmann....however the guy hasn't pitched in 6 weeks. Gonna be some rust out there, and I can't imagine him going too deep into the game. I have to think the Braves bats come alive sooner or later and I hope Huddy gives me a solid effort.
Milwaukee sports a 12 game lead over the Astros right now, and I have a feeling by week end the Stros are done. Their hitting is coming around a bit...however tonight they go against Ben Sheets who, when healthy, has historically kept the Astros pretty well in check. Milwaukee's offense is pretty decent at home, and tonight they get Jason Jennings who is okay, when not getting cortisone shots in his elbow. But the real reason to fade the Astros is that bullpen is HORRIBLE. I think I have a nice advantage in starters and a huge advantage in the pen. I'll lay the RL. Both of these games went from like -180 or so straight to +110-+130 on the RL. I considered playing each one for a unit, but I decided to go for it with the parlay as I feel pretty strong on each.
g'luck
p.s. this new board sucks and I may very well end posting unless they can fix this. NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
