****Official Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Online deals thread**** (1 Viewer)

Don't think so, unless she just wants quicker access to all the Google apps. She might just want it for a lightweight option, so if you get her a laptop of comparable weight/size that could be fine.

I have one arriving today. Just needed something light to have around the house when I want to do a bit more than what would be optimal for (old, slow) iPad/phone use.
But she could just run those in Chrome on a laptop right?  She's 13.  So I guess I'd like to get her something useful for her school work and such.   I think I'm leaning laptop.  But I don't want to miss something big.  The extra $100 or so is negligible.

My 11 year old son is looking for a gaming pc or gaming computer.  Not sure if I should buy a bundle or if I should buy components separately.  I'm also not really all that PC literate when it comes to these types of things.

Any gaming guys willing to recommend some deals for me?

Not looking to spend an arm and a leg...he's basically going to be using it to play minecraft, rocket league, etc..

Thanks in advance!
Lol Minecraft.  I just don't get it.

I really want to pull the trigger on one of these Amazon Dash buttons.  I dig the concept....Run out of something, hit the button, its at your doorstep in two days.  I have a CVS and a Rite-Aid 5 minutes from my house, though.  If I run out of garbage bags or laundry detergent, I can hop in my car and have it right now. particularly garbage bags, where you don't know you've pulle the last one out until you've done it.

I've been browsing through the different buttons, but nothing really seems to strike me as really efficient.  Can someone sell me on one?
They're dumb and useless.  HTH.

Yeah she'll be able to do anything on a laptop that she would a Chromebook. Like I said, she probably wanted the latter because she equates it with being light/thin and knows it's a much cheaper option than something like a Macbook Air.

If the extra couple lbs of a laptop isn't a big deal, go for it. But from what I've seen getting a laptop of a comparable weight of a Chromebook can be much more than an extra $100 so it just depends on what you're looking for.

The kindle is pretty nice so far. It can actually get through a level of Candy Crush without crashing, so it's already ahead of the old ipad. I need to figure out the best way to text with it.
Got the Kindle today, sideloaded Google Play with absolutely zero issues, and it streamed WWE Network for me like a champ. Very happy with it.

I love Amazon but the Dash concept doesn't make sense for me either. I could see if it resulted in some kind of significant savings but unless I'm wrong you get the same price as everyone else on Amazon. I'm basically paying for the privilege of forced brand loyalty and never taking advantage of sales at other stores. They should be paying me to have these dash things around my house or at least be free.

The problem with low-end Windows laptops is that they tend to run pretty slow.  My son's Chromebook has limited functionality but what it does, it does very efficiently.  Mrs. Eephus' Lenovo Yoga thing sputters through most Windows tasks and is always updating itself.

So i ordered a Samsung uhd 4k from sams club. They sent me an email saying it shipped but the tracking wouldn't work.  I waited a day and called. they never told me it was out of stock so they gave me my refund.  thanks for wasting my time.  any good deals on a 70 4k out there?

Just did this deal:

Sling TV.com is offering a Free 2016 Roku Streaming Stick when you prepay for One-Month of Sling TV Service for $20
Also tried this, so hopefully I get a $5 credit on my Amex, which gets me the Roku Stick for $15.

Get a one-time $5 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $15+ in one or more transactions online at sling.com/amex by 3/19/2017. See terms for exclusions.
ETA: pretty sure you have to be a new Sling customer.

Thanks.  I saw they had a Folgers button, but they don't have the coffee we drink as one of the products.  They had a Diet Coke button, but it was only for aluminum bottles.

The deal that Amazon has it buy a button for $0.99 and the first time you use it, you get a $5 Amazon credit.  I'm so lazy, I don't even wat to do it for THAT.

Bought a set of these for an affordable setup for the basement:

Pioneer SP-PK52FS Andrew Jones 5.1 HT Speakers

At $439.....best set of speakers under $1000.

The SW is the weak link being a bit under powered.  If you like you can get close to the same price today (just $10 savings on package) individually, then you can delete the subwoofer at $99. Note that the front speakers (SP-FS52) are sold individually and the rear speakers (SP-BS22-LR) are sold as a pair.  It will cost you about $200-300 for a decent Subwoofer to upgrade, so if you have a smallish room you may be OK going sticking with the one in the package.
Those Andrew Jones speakers are very underrated and a steal at under 500 IMO.

This looks interesting. I have been wanting to upgrade my speaker set up for my projector.

Yeah, it seems pretty dumb.

Especially since Amazon already has Subscribe & Save, which, from I can tell, has some pretty nice savings. Dash costs money, has no savings, and you have to push a button. S&S saves money and you don't have to do anything.

I can only think the Dash companies are paying Amazon for this, but I still don't get why they'd actually charge for the button. Somebody must be using them though. The Trojan button is currently sold out.

Try  direct from Samsung.  I know I get some sort of extra discount through my employer - but here's what I'm showing on the Samsung.com website currently:

65" Class KU6300 4K UHD TV - $819.99 (70 inch wasn't available)

65" Class KU6500 4K UHD TV - $899.99 (not made in 70")

75" Class JU7100 4K UHD Smart TV - $1999.99

Thx.  I really wanted the 70 inch uhd 4k.

I went to samsung and they showed me Costco had in stock.  got it for 1249.  ended up saving 200 bucks by canceling the earlier sams club purchase

We did well at Old Navy online for the kids.  9/12 year olds, we got 3 pairs of jeans, 4 long-sleeved tees, a sweater and a pullover for $33.

Still researching the AVR.   Leaning towards a Marantz NR1606 which seems to have a crisp/clean sound and is loaded with all the latest features.
Can't go wrong with Marantz IMO, big fan of both Denon and Marantz. Only thing on that one is it's a bit light on the power, not a huge deal though.

Sorry for the literally last minute of the deal post and if this was mentioned already, but at Ralph Lauren 40% off all orders over over $125. I needed a half-zip sweater and wanted a cotton and fleece-lined hoodie and with some gift cards I've been trying to burn forever was out the door for $10.

They say to buy stuff you need on Black Friday/Cyber Monday.  I bought a stove, some dress shoes, a dog life preserver, and a dress belt.  Almost pulled the trigger on some new luggage but I'm still looking around, they say buying luggage this weekend is one of the better seasonal buys.  So if anyone comes across anything terrific, drop it in here with an @Drd please.  TIA.
Well I keep buying #### I don't need.  :bag:

You folks didn't save 15 dollars, you spent 275 dollars on something you really didn't need.
$274 on a Roomba for a household that has two dogs that shed A LOT will be a huge time saver.  Money well spent.

And I get my Tommy Bahama shirts and pants at the local thrift store for less than $20 on average.

I've heard the name, but never seen the product... just googled it. :oldunsure:  ... you get a free bowl of soup with that stuff?
You can still rip the sleeves off if you want so it matches your wardrobe.

It's like you're collecting stuff for next Spring's garage sale.

We bought three kindles fire things for $33 for our daughters.   Bought mounts and headsets for the car and basically have a tear entertainment system for under $200
