Why is it ridiculous? Would annual be ridiculous? Is an annual flu shot ridiculous? What criteria make it ridiculous?Because that's a ridiculous request imo. And I got a booster
That's ridiculous. I'll change it once, maybe twice, and then I'll just take my chances.I'm certainly not looking forward to changing my car's oil every 5000 miles.

If you want to get a flu shot once a year knock yourself out. Im certainly not going too. I'm not worried about the flu. I got one the last couple years for the first time because all I have to do is walk downstairs at work and get one.Alex P Keaton said:Why is it ridiculous? Would annual be ridiculous? True or false Merriam-Webster just changed the definition of a vaccine so these could be classified as such?Alex P Keaton said:Others have debunked your nonsense on this before
We need a true sterilizing vaccine. We don't have it yet plus you don't make as much money selling it. It is where we are.If you want to get a flu shot once a year knock yourself out. Im certainly not going too. I'm not worried about the flu. I got one the last couple years for the first time because all I have to do is walk downstairs at work and get one.
Getting a shot every six months is ridiculous.
We get covid vaccine down to once a year I might be on board.
So we got a "vaccine" - 3 weeks apart . Ok some work that way, I get that. Now we need another 6 months out because the original lost its protection. Now I need another one 6 months after that? And another 6 months after that? Nope
Oil change takes longer and is less convenient. Not even remotely the samefatness said:I'm certainly not looking forward to changing my car's oil every 5000 miles.
Do you get blood transfusion every year then.....Oil change takes longer and is less convenient.

No, I don't need them for my health. If I needed dialysis regularly I'd get it.Do you get blood transfusion every year then.....Oil change takes longer and is less convenient.
What? There are different kinds of viruses. We are lucky this one doesn’t mutate like “the cold” and is closer to the flu, or there wouldn’t be any vaccine that works at all.IC FBGCav said:Because that isn't a vaccine.
No, this is where we question people with emotion-driven, irrational beliefs that conflict with facts and science.Oh is this where #### on people that aren't 100% on board?
Cool cool
I don't agree with Cav even a little but I would say flu vaccine is really not "required"What? There are different kinds of viruses. We are lucky this one doesn’t mutate like “the cold” and is closer to the flu, or there wouldn’t be any vaccine that works at all.
The flu shot is an annual vaccine that is required due to the mutations of the virus.
Plenty of other vaccines require numerous doses within the first year for initial immune response and then require boosters — this one will be more like a reformulation depending on mutation and effectiveness.
Oh is this where #### on people that aren't 100% on board?
Bunch of tough guys
There will never be a sterilizing vaccine for a coronavirus that crossed the globe. Ever.We need a true sterilizing vaccine. We don't have it yet plus you don't make as much money selling it. It is where we are.
I'll just see myself out then. Since you guys are being ####### to someone who ####### held up in his house for almost 6 ####### months to not get covid. Has all their shots and still won't eat out.No, this is where we question people with emotion-driven, irrational beliefs.
Well only because we have built up immunity since 1918.I don't agree with Cav even a little but I would say flu vaccine is really not "required"
This is misleading. Merriam-Webster has revised its entry for the word “vaccine” as part of its continual revision of entries, but it did not remove references to immunity. Rather, it changed the phrase “increase immunity” to say, “stimulate the body’s immune response.” The current entry better captures how mRNA-based vaccines work compared with traditional vaccines.True or false Merriam-Webster just changed the definition of a vaccine so these could be classified as such?

But hey you guys do you with your petty snark.
Hope you all have a good day and your snarky bull#### keeps this thread alive!!;

Does any of those have a natural immunity component to it? No. Everyone is going to get covid. The vaxx doesn't stop that. Then you realize this crap will only stop after Everyone had it. The shots keep you alive, do it if you don't have NI.What? There are different kinds of viruses. We are lucky this one doesn’t mutate like “the cold” and is closer to the flu, or there wouldn’t be any vaccine that works at all.

I think it is the British that are on track with this. They studied health care workers that never got sick and looking how their immune system responded. They know why. Its just replication of their immune response at this point. There will never be a sterilizing vaccine for a coronavirus that crossed the globe. Ever.
I said I'm not comfortable with requiring shots every 6 months and think it's ridiculous to ask everyone to do itI’m sorry you find it offensive when people ask questions. Interesting reaction.
So did they change or not. I live in a world that getting multiple shots are better than surviving the virus. Which i think is total nonsense IMO and science. This is misleading. Merriam-Webster has revised its entry for the word “vaccine” as part of its continual revision of entries, but it did not remove references to immunity. Rather, it changed the phrase “increase immunity” to say, “stimulate the body’s immune response.” The current entry better captures how mRNA-based vaccines work compared with traditional vaccines.
I understand not wanting to do it, but I don't think calling it ridiculous is all that accurate. Flu shots are recommended yearly, so I don't find a bi-annual booster to be that outrageous.I said I'm not comfortable with requiring shots every 6 months and think it's ridiculous to ask everyone to do it
You then called me irrational.
I promised myself I wouldn't post .....damn it.....
Some people who get COVID-19 receive no protection from reinfection – their natural immunity is nonexistent. A recent study found that 36% of COVID-19 cases didn't result in development of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies.
There may be later, better information than this. [See better information below]Natural immunity can decay within about 90 days. Immunity from COVID-19 vaccines has been shown to last longer. Both Pfizer and Moderna reported strong vaccine protection for at least six months. Studies are ongoing to evaluate the full duration of protective immunity, including the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Real-world studies also indicate natural immunity's short life. For example, 65% of people with a lower baseline antibody from infection to begin with completely lost their COVID-19 antibodies by 60 days.
Yep. You said you weren’t comfortable. I then asked you a series of questions. Fair questions. Honest questions.I said I'm not comfortable with requiring shots every 6 months and think it's ridiculous to ask everyone to do it

I'm not antivax, I'm not anti science but I'm not going to be comfortable pumping my body with this stuff every 6 months, but I also don't take pain meds, cold meds, etc unless absolutely needed. I try to avoid all medication as much as I can![]()

If the numbers are over 2500 the test just says “>2500” but i don’t know how high the number actually gets. As stated though no one knows the impact of these numbers and they only really go by positive or negative.Quick question for you guys, that I'm having trouble finding the answer for. I had a proven case of Covid19
I had my immunity tested and my IGg came back at 11.44 I know that >1 shows immunity, but how high does the scale go?
I gotta be honest, I forget my mask more times than not. I mean they are quick trips into a convenience store or a Lowes.Twin cities, indoor public spaces. I would put maske usage, even without any requirements, at close to 75% these days.
I always have a mask around my neck, for when I am the public spaces at my work, I have to wear it (only about 10% of my day tops). So in general, I lean towards not wanting to wear the thing, but there is a peer pressure thing for sure when I roam through the skyways. I see old frail people faithfully wearing their masks, as well as high school aged youngens, and it makes me think twice about not wearing my mask. So I tend to wear it
I had covid, I have been around 20 plus people that had covid. Nothing.I gotta be honest, I forget my mask more times than not. I mean they are quick trips into a convenience store or a Lowes.
I have rarely wore a mask since April or whenever the mandates were dropped last spring. But you're right, mask usage has been creeping up and send like it's now the majority in the metro.Twin cities, indoor public spaces. I would put maske usage, even without any requirements, at close to 75% these days.
