Solid analysis there.Romo will blow it. Great fantasy QB. That's about it.
Nice analysis, BG.Only thing I would correct you on is Mo got totally beat first play of the game. Tried press coverage on Nicks, who worked him over, got way out in front, and I think it was Sensy that came through on S help to prevent it from being a huge play. Looked really deliberate on the coverage scheme that I'm sure RR planned for, knowing they'd attack Mo early. That said, he played a strong game overall.Cook for MVP that game. Can't say enough about how he came in in impossible conditions and held his own. Major props.Livings struggled early, but finished strong, I thought. Bernie, though. OMG, he's a trainwreck at guard. Fantastic play out of the LBs. That group gets an A- from me. Great play from the Safety group. A- as well.Romo is developing into one of the best in/out of pocket passers in the league. Such a great presence that CREATES opportunities. Rodgers is better passing on the run than anyone playing now. But, within the pocket, Romo has developed a 6th sense that is uncanny. And, many he needs it. This team needs it.Murray is such a surprisingly tough runner inside. Such an under-appreciated part of his game, but he can grind. Agree on Felix. Done. Go away. Get Tanner in there as RB2.Special Teams play is 100% better than last year.Great win.Bankers Blurbs-Week 1 Edition...-Great game, probably better then any win last year. Even better then the SF game.-The play of the game was the effort of Tyron Smith to make a 1 hand tackle and save a sure score inside our 5. The defense rewards the effort with a stop and we hold the G-Men to only 3 points. This was a momentum builder for the team.-As I mentioned in the game thread, Cook held things down and based on his limited time with the team had a good game.-Interior line is just as important as having strong OT's. It's harder for QB's to avoid the middle rush then an outside rush. Romo put that on full display avoiding 2 or 3 should have been sacks off the edge.-Speaking of Romo. Wow, that's what I'm talking about.-It's hard to not admire Witten's toughness.-It's impossible to not love Sean Lee. That boy was a missile as he blew up David Wilson. I LOVE that dude.-Carr is worth every penny. Physical and smart. Even on the 1 play he got beat deep, yyou could see that he tried to under cut the WR. Only a poorly timed leap kept Carr from hawking that ball.-Claiborne is the opposite of Carr imo, but still good. Carr is old school, Claiborne is finesse. He is a cover CB through and through. He is not not the most willing or capable tackler as we saw on the Brashaw TD. However, his coverage skills were there. Nothing behind him yesterday and he made the tackle immediately folloeing the catch. The good news, is that he will only get better.-Nice to see some good half time adjustments by our coaching staff. More swing passes, got Murray involved more, and more impotantly went after the other teams weakness....the 5th corner. I'm not taking anything away from Ogletree, but that's what is supposed to happen against an inferior matchup. You exploit it until they can stop it. Good for OTree for coming through on his opportunity.-Don't under estimate the Bill Callahan impact on the above point.-HEY EVERYBODY we have a cover team for the first time in 10+ years. Our punter wasn't too shabby either.-Really enjoyed Murray putting Kiwanuku on his ###.-The Felix Jones era is over. Slow, no fire. He could easily be traded or cut.-Bruuuuuuce. Good game, his speed was evident and he surprisingly held the point of contact quite well last night.-One thing where the Cowboys looked superior was conditioning. Hats off to Garrett and our strength coach. Giants wilted in the 4th and we seemed to get stronger.-Loved the decision to go for it on 4th down. HATED the call. Purge this from the playbook please. Especially on 4th down.-Penalties. Oh my god. We play next week in the loudest stadium in the NFL. We better get this fixed asap. Great, great, great effort. On to Week 2.EDIT-For anyone who has the ALL 22. Can you please let me know if the Giants were indeed rolling coverage to Dez as I suspect. Or is there perhaps still a lack of trust from Romo's point of view. Dez was again quiet late in the game.

Costa may just be the worst starting C in the league so it wouldn't surprise me if Cook ended up beating him out.Is Cook an upgrade over Costa? He did very well considering he was just brought in. Every time I hear an analyst talk about the Cowboys they always mention how Costa is a concern. If we can get our C position resolved then clean up the penalties then we may have something this year. I can already tell that this team is well coached.
And to Banker's point above, love the influence of Callahan in our adjustments at halftime. Playcalling seemed much improved to me as well. I have to attribute a lot of that to Callahan since he's the new coaching piece this season.Also...Romo's leadership. Just outstanding. Many have complained about the play clock running down to 0 every play, but did you see Romo setting EVERYone at the line of scrimmage? Dude looked like Manning setting the MLB, tackles, his Center and, of course, the outside WRs.Kudos to the 'Boys - great game! The biggest difference I felt in watching this game was execution. I can't tell you how many times I turned off a Dallas loss, complaining about the coaching and lack of preparation/execution. I really hope this game was an indication that this team (players and coaches) have taken it up a notch. The talent is there. We will see.Oh, and the secondary play was considerably better than years past. LBs did great as well.![]()
The game is over, he didn't blow it.Great win, was impressed by how the Cowboys seemed to get stronger and play better as the game went on. Great defensive hold after the Romo Int, just what you need to get momentum back.Ware said it nicely after the game, the improved coverage in the secondary allows for the pass rush to get to the Qb.The penalties were ridiculous, that has to be cleaned up.The week and a half off to get healthy and tweak mistakes is great, hopefully we start the season 2-0 with two road victories, that will be huge. After that win, I'll be honest, expectations as of now went up, they looked like a team that should be fighting for a playoff spot and the division title.Romo will blow it. Great fantasy QB. I'm referring to the season, smart guy. I'm a big fan of history and judging future performance based on what a player has done in the past. When the game is out of reach, Romo is great for a pseudo comeback to pad the stats. When an important game is on the line (to make playoffs or in playoffs), Romo is sure to blow it. I feel for you and your sorry base of fans. I hope I'm wrong b/c I hate to see Cowboys fans ##### and whine every year. On the other hand, it's also fun to hear cries of Super Bowl again and again only to get shut out of the playoffs b/c they have a sporadic QB and an owner crazier than a ##### house rat.'Iwannabeacowboybaby! said:The game is over, he didn't blow it.Great win, was impressed by how the Cowboys seemed to get stronger and play better as the game went on. Your post is hater garbage. Its the same old crap we hear over and over. You are following what the main stream sports media says about Romo. If you were paying attention, you'd know that Romo really isnt the problem. Romo cant play defense or make his O-line competent blockers. The defense is being addressed. The O-line, makes me nervous. Thanks for the insight smart guy, and have a nice day.I'm referring to the season, smart guy. I'm a big fan of history and judging future performance based on what a player has done in the past. Our "sorry fanbase" has enjoyed a lot of success over the years and is one of most storied franchises in Football. No need to feel sorry for us.I'm referring to the season, smart guy. Rumors of a rib injury. He looks awful. Definately not in football shape. BUMP Murray in fantasy if you already haven't.I was impressed with how physically fit the Boys seemed to be with 1 exception. Felix. Wow, he looks heavy. I cannot imagine that a professional strength coach would think that Felix is at his ideal size/weight. He has lost so much speed and quickness. The difference in Felix between now and his rookie season is dramatic. His speed, acceleration, and explosiveness jumped off the screen when he was a rookie. Now he's just a lug. I think I heard he had shoulder surgery in the offseason. Maybe that's why he this way now. But you'd think you'd still be able to work the legs. But regardless, he's an overstuffed facsimile of his former self. Remarkable for a young guy with no major leg injuries.

I agree 100%The Giants game was about showing our skill against a top end team. We showed our skill. The Seattle game is going to test our maturity and level of prepardness. Do we have the mental toughness to beat a decent team, in a tough environment where we will likely be favored.I want to see Seattle play before I start posting on the key matchups and things to watch for.
There are two keys for this game.1. Make R.Wilson beat us. Stop the running game.2. No turnovers. Don't give them a short field. We do that, book it as a win.I agree 100%The Giants game was about showing our skill against a top end team. left tackle Russell Okung is questionable and could be replaced by Frank Omiyale, who filled in after Okung suffered a bruised knee against Arizona.
He said he was good to go.Ware should be licking his chops. I expect Ryan to be aggressive with blitzes, stunts and zones to confuse the kid.Jenkins is back and will man up against the slot WRThe sea chickens might be starting a LT that was released by the Bears

I like to see that you are a big fan of history, if that's true then you should at least respect the Cowboys and what they've achieved even though you may not like them. The reason Dallas hasn't won a SB recently is they haven't had the talent. If every player on the team was as good as Romo is at his position, we would have won one. I'd really like to see an improvement this week in the penalty area.Keys to this game...Our special teams unit can't give up big plays. We dont turn the ball over.Limit Lynch.Thats it.....simple.All of Seattle's scores last week were set up from Srizon turnovers or big gains getting Seattle deep into scoring position. Make the rookie go 7+ plays on their drives to score. We will score some points, just dont give em any easy ones or freebies.23-13 win.
