Outside the box
agreed. live it looked to me like he was just tossing it away. replay from the backside showed a player breaking towards the direction and a bigger hit on the arm then I saw live.

INcomplete would have been the better call, but I saw grounding live

Didn’t make it to the line of scrimmage. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen grounding called when QBs arm was hit like that
I think there was one either yesterday or in the Penn State / Auburn game.
Really dumb to have that be a penalty.

Peyton’s explanation of how he used to try to convince the refs that it’s not his fault that the receiver is so stupid he ran the wrong route and wasn’t where he was supposed to be is absolutely classic.

Item 2. Physical Contact. Intentional grounding should not be called if:

the passer initiates his passing motion toward an eligible receiver and then is significantly affected by physical contact from a defensive player that causes the pass to land in an area that is not in the direction and vicinity of an eligible receiver; or

the passer is out of the pocket, and his passing motion is significantly affected by physical contact from a defensive player that causes the ball to land short of the line of scrimmage.

let’s move on

Your takes are on fire. He's two first rounders better. The jump is significant. I mean, if your first rounder winds up all Okudah, then you're better off with the All-Pro caliber QB.
Sorry...Stafford will have to have a HOF career from here to justify trading away a competent NFL caliber starting QB AND two first round picks. And yes...Goff is absolutely a competent NFL caliber starter

Rumors of the Lions offense being historically terrible were greatly exaggerated. These guys are moving the ball competently.

good game plan. I like this OC.

Yeah, the pundants were brutal.  Detroit core of Williams, Swift and Hock makes Detroit better at RB and TE than most teams in the league.  The WR are competent and have very good hands.  Goff is looking much better today actually hitting WRs.
