As a diehard Dexter fan, I have to disagree. I was quite saddened when I learned it would be the last season, but looked forward to it. Now I understand that we have to suspend some sense of realism, but man it was8 wasn't QUITE as bad as some made it out to be, but it was a total shell of what was a great show.
Too bad.
No shame in that. Few can compare to Madison Burge.Masuka's daughter >>>> Lila
Yeah, he's a much better Masuka than a Harry Tang.
Frankly, until the hospital scene, I wasn't sure what the uproar was about. If they ended it around there I wouldn't have had serious complaints. What ensues is absurd. I would have been more upset if I hadn't been emotionally prepared for the wheels to fall off.As a diehard Dexter fan, I have to disagree. seriously off. And that final episode.... ugh, AWFUL. Won't give anything away, but it was ridiculous. Followed it from season 1, episode 1, but it went down in my book as one of the worst endings...EVER.

Never liked LaGuerta, but in a way I should. I also hated Quinn. Nothing character except as a token plot device.Halfway through Season 5.
I was just starting to like LaGuerta again until she stabbed Debra in the back. But still do not like Quinn. Just does nothing for me and Deb can do better.
I like Lumen (Julia Stiles is awesome in the role) and her story, but I miss Rita
While I agree the series went downhill after season 4 or so, we have to agree that if it had just stopped after season 5, it would have left waaaaay too many unanswered questions and left a lot of unhappy fans. They had to tidy things up. I think they just drug certain things out too long. Then they leave a very unsatisfying ending.Never liked LaGuerta, but in a way I should. I also hated Quinn. I also liked the Lumen character. If they had just stopped after this season, this would have been an all-time great series. Instead, the last three seasons drag it down into meh territory.
Dexter's women (in order of preference):I liked Lumen more than Rita.
Wasn't a fan of Lila at all.Lila probably had more sex appeal than Rita, largely because her character was portrayed that way, but I am admittedly a sucker for a great smile, and Rita had an absolutely gorgeous smile.
Not sure if it was brought up elsewhere, but how about Masuka as Tony Soprano's doctor in the Kevin Finnerty episodesRandom "Aha" moment: The woman who plays "Christine Hill", the reporter, was Ted Mosby's date on "The Naked Man" episode of HIMYM.
And Courtney Ford has gotten naked a lot on Dexter![]()

Buckle up mojo, it's tough sledding from here on out.
Good news, and I apologize in advance if you didn't know (I assume you do), is that Ms. Strahovski is just around the corner. She's absolutely fantastic, and pretty much the only redeeming quality on the show once she arrives.
You think it's bad now? OOF.About 5 episodes into Season 6.
Bad:
Doomsday Killers (Edward James Olmos has been wasted so far)
Brother Sam - I am just not buying his character
Dexter's Daddy time - Bored as hell with those clips
LaQuerta - Lame
Good:
Intern![]()
And Angel and Quinn smoking the joint in the Trans-Am.![]()
Yeah, I could put up with many of the flaws (except the horrible narrating voice-over that started to make me want to shoot someone around Season 6), but that was when they just made it official that the writers didn't give a #### anymore. You think it's bad now? OOF.About 5 episodes into Season 6.

Just wait until Deb "realizes" she's in love with Dexter. That's pretty much the exact moment they lost me.
That made the bad writing, while not excusable, at least tolerable. I loved her in Chuck as well, and I like the role she plays. Just kind of wish they had spent a bit more time on a better ending, so bad.pollardsvision said:Buckle up mojo, it's tough sledding from here on out.

This whole Doomsday killer scenario is so bad. Gellar gets plastered all over the newspapers and then he is out walking through the outdoor shops? So stupid. Just a total waste of Olmos's talent.pollardsvision said:Buckle up mojo, it's tough sledding from here on out.

Maybe something happens in Season 7 and 8 that raise their suspicions.
"I mean, surely someone at Miami PD should be suspicious about Dexter, right? What does he have to do? Snap and murder someone and have it caught on video?"Maybe something happens in Season 7 and 8 that raise their suspicions.![]()
This is like saying canned dog food tastes better than baby wipes.Season 7 was better than Season 6
I can. Imagine if Russell Wilson got traded to the Raiders just before Week 13. Something would seem off, to say the least. And I did enjoy seeing Ms. Strahovski as Hannah, but something seemed off. I can't put my finger on it.

Dexter wasn't half the show Chuck was.
She went from being Sarah ####### Walker to a late game plot device on a show that didn't give a #### anymore.
She was cast into a love triangle between, you know, a brother and a sister.![]()

I saw all 8 seasons of Dexter before seeing one episode of Chuck, so I can't know what it was like. But I'd think that could've been hard to watch if I'd seen Chuck first (you know, in a world where watching Yvonne naked could be "hard to watch").
Actually even now, of the million reasons I'd never re-watch S7, that would probably be at the top of the list.
Good, good...I can feel your anger...What a lame ### stupid ####### ending. Holy ####### christ on a cracker. Either ####### let Dexter die or have him go to ####### Argentina. Not that stupid ####### bull#### ending they had there that made no ####### sense...(I was channeling my inner Deb Morgan on that).
