Fascinating that there is a leak to a non-story. Usually you see "alleged", etc. This is the same ESPN that went crazy on deflategate leaking things (some that appear to likely now be false). I will wait until the official story gets out. I suspect with Dez's Twitter post (that has now been deleted) that something very big is indeed looming.

 
The fact that Dez was even shopping at Walmart should be enough reason to panic if you are in Dynasty leagues. Has he seen the People at Walmart website?

 
ESPN has ruined what used to be the best source in the business in Schefter. Old Schefter would never have postured and speculated. Maybe ESPN can release some secret backstage video of the Oscars.

I remember when Wal-Mart first opened everyone made fun of K-Mart. Wal-Mart has been the new K-Mart for some time now.

Did you see the thing in the Hernandez case where the Judge said if you were out in public, you're presumed to have agreed to be recorded? Call me old fashioned, and forget Hernandez, but that presumption seemed presumptuous.

 
The rumor circulating is that this is retribution from Dez's old agency, who had been keeping this under wraps... Now that Dez is w Roc, they're playing hardball

Since they were the ones paying the "hush money"

Do we know when this happened? IS it four years ago? Where are we getting that?

Also wondering if we're getting into "coverup is worse than the crime" area. At least in terms of any or extent of punishment to come.

No, because there is no guarantee that no matter how much Dez would pay, someone could still have made a copy and then post it on YouTube anonymously, or thru another source. He could pay millions but it would not guarantee that this video still would not come out.

No, because there is no guarantee that no matter how much Dez would pay, someone could still have made a copy and then post it on YouTube anonymously, or thru another source. He could pay millions but it would not guarantee that this video still would not come out.

Sure but if it only cost him a few hundred grand to take care of round 1 (and maybe ends it altogether) then why not?

If your career/family situation were on the line and it cost you 3% of your salary for the possibility of it going away forever would you pass on that opportunity?

 
So, per Florio tonight the long standing rumor has been the video is from a Wal-Mart parking lot surveillance camera in the Dallas area. The parking lot, not in the store. So, how and why would his former friends or whoever it is have this footage in order to sell to the highest bidder? If a crime was committed, why would Wal-Mart be sitting on this video? Maybe times are so bad that Wal-Mart is doing the selling to help their bottom line. haha.

If this turns out to be a matter of parking lot road rage where he knocked out some pushy shopper for beating him to a parking space... let's just say I've wanted to do that a few times myself. beep beep

If I were in the situation I think I would pay and see what happened. No guarantees but I'm sure he would get them to sign something that they wouldn't leak anything further. Of course he could sue them. You can sue anyone for anything. Would be difficult to prove they leaked it of course.

If anyone affiliated with the NFL tries to buy off the video to squash it the commish office would come down with a vengeance on them, they just got humiliated over the Ray Rice incident.

You can guarantee they are putting tons of work into investigating this now that the levy has cracked open.

Dez's people would be complete morons to try to buy it off at this stage in the game.
