Just curious, what would your ranking of WRs be this year?

Mine is:

  1. AB
  2. Julio
  3. Hopkins
  4. OBJ
  5. Dez
  6. AJ Green
  7. A Rob
  8. Cooper
  9. Evans
  10. Jordy
Thought about having Watkins, but I'm still dubious about a Rex offense and see Watkins as not very durable.
1. Brown

2. Jones

3. Beckham

4. Hopkins

5. Green

6. Robinson

7. Evans

8. Jeffery

9. Bryant

10. Nelson

Well we pretty much have the same top 10 except I have Cooper and you have Alshon, so I think we can call this Close Enough.
And like I've said all along, I still think Dez can be a top 10 guy, I just wouldn't be surprised if he finished lower than that. Would be more surprised if he was a Top 5 guy. If he was there at the end of the 1st, I'd probably take him, but I would make sure those other guys I have ahead of him were gone.

Also, this will be his first full year/offseason with Scott Linehan as his OC.  There could be a chance that he becomes the workhorse WR.  Linehan was the OC in Detroit when Calvin caught 122 passes in a year.  Just saying it's possible that his role could increase from previous years, especially with teams like the Steelers and Falcons and Texans seeing success focusing on a top end WR.

It's interesting though.  I almost get the sense it's not so much the scheme but romo that holds him back.  He often looks but doesn't throw.  He's risk adverse I think in terms of just putting it up there to Dez

As has been mentioned throughout this thread, Dez is one of the few big time wr's that just disappears in games.  If you went in a game needing 4 pts and you had megatron you wouldn't bat an eye...with Dez (and this has happened to me sometimes) you sometimes lose that game.

Part of the reason I think he could actually do better with a different QB.  It's not like it is with AB and Ben or Julio and Ryan, Romo doesn't want to just throw it up and have HIS BEST PLAYER make a play on the ball.  Instead he dumps it off to Cole Weasely for 4 yards and calls it a day.  Grow some cohones Romo.

He's affectionately called Joe Dirt.

Depends who the QB is. The mess Dallas had out there last year didn't really help Dez any.

I remember thinking last year "If only Fitz had went to Dallas instead of NY".

Fitz was really in some kind of limbo before the NY thing. I think there was a time when, had the league given him a salary that was noticeable for a "backup" he would have been content to back up Romo and that would have been worth every penny. But I agree that today its a different story.

Dez Bryant (foot) said he and Tony Romo will have private workouts to get on the same page before training camp.
Bryant has been cleared to participate in football activities, but he was still extremely limited during OTAs and minicamp. The extra sessions will give the duo time to get right after both missed significant time with injuries last season. With the Cowboys failing to add any help at receiver, Bryant will once again have to shoulder the load in the passing game.

Dez looked fine last night. No reason to hesitate ranking him as high as WR4 IMO.
Stephania Bell has been trashing him all offseason, calling him old and talking up his injuries. 1 good preseason game, And Dez looks back to normal!  Like she thought that all along...

Picked him up tonight at #7 in my first draft of the year. Not a highway robbery or anything, but not too shabby. He's looked very good.

I took him at #8 overall in a 12 man PPR tonight as well.......and I don't regret it one bit.

The fact the backup QB has looked competent also helps.

We won't get any real info and he will sit a ton since it's preseason, but he has 2 weeks. This shouldn't be a concern. Does Dez have a history of concussions before?

I know that some analysts were wary of him this year due to his physical play. I see it mostly as a benefit, but there will be weeks like this.

I think he's fine for the regular season though.

Prescott seemed to be feeding Dez in preseason.  He knows Dez can win the jump ball. I think it is a minor hiccup for Dez but not a huge hurdle.

ETA I don't think Dak puts up Romo numbers but I think he continues to feed his WR1

Drop dez out of the first Rd for sure. I'd rather have cooks Hilton Jeffery Marshall and a few others at this point. Forget about romo being hurt. Dez is coming off multiple foot surgeries and now a concussion. Rookie qb, rookie running game. Dallas is hurting.
