***Official*** Dwayne Washington, RB, DET (4 Viewers)

Except with shallow benches or superior talent on the WW (eg. Howard) I think people are dumping Washington too quickly.  I watched his snaps last week and he looked good and was being featured before being injured.  The only real competition I'm worried about is Zenner who's not shown much to date.  Riddick has been abysmally bad as a runner and much like Sims in Tampa Bay will (has) lose carries.

Dixon in Baltimore much more appealing. Week he is coming back they release Forsett.

grab Dixon in redrafts if he is floating around. He will be starting within a week or two. Ravens have managed to stay relevant while they work the kinks out.

He's not playing this week and didn't get much opportunity last week so he's not going to be a sought after WW target compared to other options. I dropped him and Arian Foster for DeAndre Washington (OAK) and Dixon since those two have the opportunity to raise their stock this week. IF either hit then I've got trade bait at the least but probably just keep them. Dwayne Washington needs more opportunity than he's been given thus far.

I had to drop Washington for Dixon. This may be the last week to grab him unless you are early in your WW line.  However, if Ajayi struggles this week or that ugly RBBC in Miami sticks around, I plan on picking Washington up again. There have been a lot of comments on this guy but there is potential.

Speaking of Forsett, the Lions have a meeting with him set up for Monday.  Just another note to consider for Washington owners.

Not to be rude, but I can't imagine hes on any ww in any league more than 10 teams

Not to be rude but you're not being rude just a little ignorant.  Too many types of league configurations out there to take such a short view of any given situation.

Fair enough I guess.

But the guy has been hyped since before the season started by anyone with a keyboard, and is supposed to play this week.

I stand by what I posted

Thanks. Beat writer's opinion, but info nonetheless
Sure, I agree.  I'm in a bad spot as I need to drop either Washington or Corey Coleman from my roster to cover my TE bye week, and I think this type of info pushes me towards dropping Washington.

Like everyone else, I'm supremely disappointed in Washington that he had an opportunity to make a statement and went down almost immediately with an injury.  Yeah, anyone can get injured any day of the week and it sucks that it had to be THAT week, but that's the type of stuff that indicates maybe Washington isn't really the lottery ticket (or at least a solid RB) we thought he MIGHT be.  Now, add that with the fact that the Lions are working out Forsett means that the Lions probably don't think he's the answer either.  They are probably just as disappointed as we are.

I feel bad for the kid, but in the NFL when opportunity knocks you need to take it and make something happen.  As a young player trying to make it in the NFL, you simply CANNOT fumble away (pun intended) these opportunities and that is exactly what he did.  Now that window might be closed for him.

Take it for what it's worth, but just about every NFL pundit who does this for a living disagrees with you.  Forsett has been awful.
Yeah they all disagreed with me on David Johnson too.

It doesn't matter if Forsett is awful if they sign him. It means less carries for Washington and an even shorter leash. It's bad for Washington.

:bs:

Show me a pundit that was down on David Johnson as they were with Forsett this year.  In almost all cases, Johnson was the #1 or #2 RB choice this year and he's certainly lived up to that expectation.  No one was high on Forsett this year and he's proven them correct.

I don't care if Forsett sucks. If he's taking carries from Washington over the second half of the year it hurts a player trying to establish himself and lowers his value this year.

In regards to DJ, I'm talking about before last year. When everybody was saying DJ couldn't run in between the tackles. They were all wrong. That's anecdotal and this is getting off track though. By all means gobble up those Washington shares after they sign Forsett if you want. I'm sure he will be heavily discounted.

One oddity is that the Lions chose not to activate Mike James off the practice squad today.

They are rolling with two RBs, Riddick and Zenner.  Better hope neither gets hurt.

Maybe they can throw Golden Tate back there, he used to be a RB.  Can't be much worse than what he's doing at WR!  :D

In most 12 team redrafts with rosters that only accommodate 4 to 5 RB....not to be rude but wtf are you talking about? Dynasty and redraft blur once again
I don't play dynasty.

It was posted earlier that hes 75℅ owned on mfl. I'm assuming that includes 8 and 10 teamers which he's less likely to be owned in.

I'm sticking with what I posted. If you can figure out his ℅ owned in 12 team leagues at any league hosting site prove me wrong and I'll stand corrected

I picked him up a few weeks ago (actually dropped Ajayi the week Foster got hurt because I was more confident in DW than Ajayi), but had to drop him this week due to bye week issues just to have a complete starting lineup. Riddick having a nice game today, Im going to try to pick Washington back up once he's healthy if I can. DET looks like a top 10 offense this year.

He's on my waiver wire....need running back help.

Seems like there is no real consensus on him. Just curious what some posters think. Thanks

DET doesn't need DW when Riddick is playing this well.
Not true. He is not an every down type of back. DW could be the perfect slasher between the tackles that Theo is not.

Personally don't understand the Forsett workout. It's not like he's a rough and ready in between the tackles runner. Riddick has all receptions covered and a decent amount of normal carries. Zenner for some regulation carries. Washington hopefully back soon. Mike James on practise squad. Abdullah could even be back in a month.

I'd roll with what I have, but if I was looking to work someone out it wouldn't be a Forsett type but more of a Karlos Williams big bodies type

I only play dynasty and keeper leagues, for reference... but I'm holding Washington across all leagues.  My take hasn't changed from last week when I said meet back in week 8.  The injury doesn't sound significant in the sense of keeping him out multiple games.  In fact, sounds like he's got a shot to play this week.  Riddick is a great receiver, but he's sub-par between the tackles.  Yes he's scoring TDs, but they're hard to predict week-to-week.  Zenner sucks.  It's plausible to me the Forsett signing is about depth and mentoring the young guys as much as it's about a perceived lack of faith/trust in Washington.  Washington made the team over other veteran backs like Ridley and took Zenner's job in camp -- as a very raw rookie fairly new to the RB position.

I'm playing the long game here... and I'm holding.  Maybe it never happens, but I think you guys are blind saying the opportunity has come and gone.  I realize leagues are different, bye weeks are difficult, and what's available on the wire spans a rather wide gamut.  For me, given the state of my rosters (not needing an immediate hit) and the state of my waiver wires (no Dixons, DeAndre Washingtons, Jalen Richards, etc.), I'll keep holding here.  We're 1/4 and 1 game through the season... long ways to go.

Could just be a due diligence workout. Guys come in all the time for workouts but don't sign immediately.

Zenner made James Starks  look good, so something's needed here. Riddick's good (especially as a pass catching RB), but I'd be stunned if Detroit thought Theo was (near) a 15-to-20 carry guy.

IMHO, Washington is worth at least a hold for now. If the Lions are needy enough to sign Forsett, obviously that changes things. But there are several other teams who need a warm body at RB, so no guarantee that Forsett would even be some sort of answer for them.
