I wanted to be on last night, but felt like crap with the food poisoning that I had going on. My fortitude is back, but tonight is not looking too good.

Yeah, commander can be a lot more fun. One tip which I learned, as well - if the enemy destroys your stuff and no one is repairing them, drop supplies on them and they will repair just like vehicles.
 Don't really care to be commander, I just commanded enough to get the veteran commander badge (badge whore) :bag:

I'm having an awful time getting the veteren medic badge. Not the combat badge but the badge where you have to get ten heals in one round

Nobody runs over my health packs

64-P Karkand Bro, I got it within 5 rounds. Play as MC and just drop them in the alley way, and if they take the 1st cap point, drop back and just drop packs everywhere. Believe me, on a 64 player server you'll have teammates picking up those packs constantly

I'll have to try that tonight

I have received all of the medic and spec ops badges thus far. I am getting close with my armor ones, too. :armorwhore:

:hot: Damn you armorwhores.... Now that they are nerfing C4 'tossing' I have no idea how i'm going to combat Tanks. 4 Anti-T rounds just isn't gonna cut it for me.

they are just nerfing the distance you can toss(and not that much by the looks of it) they are just trying to eliminate guys jumping and throwing C4 at other infantry, which is really lame. I played a guy last night by the name of CaseylRybach(or something like that) who was using every lame trick in the book. Bunnyhopping, dolphin diving, c4 tossing, close range noob tubing you name it. Killing people like that is even more satisfying than C4'ing a tank

I love C4'ing a tank. I get at least 3-4 armor kills this way everytime I play Karkand. If a tank does not have a machine gunner = meat for spec ops. 2 C4 packs and BOOM goes the tank.

patch delayed 2-3 more weeks to finish testing. Euro force booster packs delayed as well. The dolphin divers have a little more time to rack up the stats

I'm very new to this game, just got private first class last time I played. I ran into a guy doing the whole dolphin diving thing, very lame. Reminds me of those wallhackers on the old Medal of Honor game.

I absolutely agree. There are plenty of those C4 types on a few of the servers I play on, honestly the first time that happens they should be banned. Sure they get 2-4 kills, but more often than not they take down a few of their own teammates. Its just lame, i've had more than a few jump at me and throw a pack, then jupm away or to the side and boom, both dead. noobs.

:goodposting: Exactly. I hate using Anti-Tank though when some sort of Armor/Transport is at a distance camping, literally takes 3-6 shots simply since you have to shoot / retreat around a corner constantly. Oh well.... I can't totally hate on camping tanks, playing as a medic and just rev'ing spammed teammates = $

according to Bf2tracker, im now 177 kills away from a 1-1 ratio. My main goal right now. Its not an easy task for someone who barely uses armor or the noob tube

What exactly are they doing, and how far can you throw the C4 currently? I dive down when I see an enemy, but taking cover is a rule of engagement anyway. I don't do the hopping and diving, though. Dive, take aim and hope you are true.

ive seen guys hiding behind the wall around the square at karkand, jumping up and throwing c4 half way accross the street towards the hotel. Its ridiculus and needs to stop. C4 isnt meant to be used that way.

people diving down furstrates me a little bit, but only when they come around the corner, dive at close range and ruin me with a support weapon. I agree that going prone is an important part of combat, but some people take advantage of it. I think there should be a sligh delay between going prone and being able to fire.

The dolphin diving is the worst infantry related problem now

link to video

the link may not work all the time, because its on a low bandwidth site. just be patient

the worst problem with the game is the broken AA. those AA sites are practically worthless, as the rockets cant hit anything no matter how long you lock on. They are better at taking out APC's than jets or choppers

Agree with you here, more often than not i end up hitting friendly Jets or Helis' for some reason.

Yeah, and then get penalized for the TK and the team vehicle damage. That is the best. Your score just went down by like 20 points.

just played commander for the first time. Boy was that boring. Alot to do, but not very fun. My team stunk too. I spent so much time dropping supplies, Arty and UAV's that i didnt have time to zoom in and spot troops, give orders to squads, ect.It would be nice to get some of the badges and ribbons that require some command time, but i just dont see it happening.

That's sort of the problem with being the Comm., you need a VERY good team to really get alot of points, plus, it helps if the other team is decent too since you get more points if/when Cap points change hands. It's tough, but it honestly can be alot of fun, depending on how you play it (not just laying down the entire match, only using special abilities when requested by teammates, etc.)

An effective commander can certainly mean the difference between a W and L, and just remember if you win a round as the comm, you get 2x points, I've been in the low 100s plenty of times by being the commander.

I will give you though its hard to find the right Map/Team to be able to get to a decent score though.

Yeah, several true points here. I have gotten a lot of points as commander and both won and lost, and I have gotten like 12 points and won because my team owned the other team and it ended up being a "hole them up at their spawn point and let 'er rip" fest. I got maybe 1 or 2 kills by arty because my team had all the armor and layed into them (Sharqi).

just so you guys know, the commander score is just the average score of the players on your team. i dont think it has anything to do with whether points are taken or held.edit: at least, im pretty sure that this is what it is

That seems familiar now that you say it. :bag:

Exactly -- and if cap points flip back and forth frequently, thats a higher pool of points to pull from, figure if a point flips 6 times, (3x back to your team) thats 12 points, instead of say... 4 for just an initial cap. Kinda trivial, but it adds up.

There is a fair amount of controversy on how commanders score points. In my experience the more times your team captures a flag point the higher your commander points. The best commander scores I have had is when playing on a 64 P map with only about 10 players per side and everybody just runs around and caps the flags. :2cents:

Okay if you put it that way your probably right.

Come to think of it, whenever I have had to take matters into my own hands as commander and kill someone that was running around trying to destroy our stuff, I never got any points for the kill. :hot:

note to all medics, if you see me die, and continue to see bullets rain down upon my corpse, dont revive me and run away 4 times in a row  GDB essentially waiting a minute to respawn just so some point whoring medic can get a few extra points. I love being revived, but make sure the coast is clear before you go diving in there.

I agree. If I think I can get in and out with a reasonable chance for us to survive, I will go for it, but if we are overwhelmed, I retreat. I have been the one healed only to die and I was typing at the dude, "WTF??"

You don't get points for the kills and if you are an engineer you don't get points for repairing the commander assets :hot: Or for that matter no points at all exept for commander points

When the game first came out and before any patches were released the commanders would get kill points for everybody they killed with artillery.

Commanders would sit in amor or AA sites and get points, badges and ribbons for either armor or AA because they would rack up huge kills with arty.

Friggin point whores

That happened to me the other day. Got killed by a tank and got revived and them killed by the same tank. 4 times in a row!!

:hot: Does wonders for the old kill to death ratio.

I don't want to hear TLEF whining about his kill to death ratio. I looked at mine last night, and with 1999 kills, I need 563 kills and no deaths to even it up. :bag:

:lmao: :lmao: :goodposting:

I'm at least that bad if not worse.

I play pretty aggressive and will charge into a firefight guns blazing.

:topcat:

moving closer every day. i will get thereedit: by the way, if you are revived, it doesnt count as a death. its just annoying

I don't think this is correct. When I was the commander, I got the Gold Medal once and the Bronze twice. This would not be possible if it was an average of all of your peeps. You get 2x whatever you score.

And while we're talking about medics.... Don't revive me when I've been calling for ammo and then get killed. It doesn't help if I'm revived in the middle of a firefight and I'm out of ammo!

you get the average of your team, then it gets doubled if you win. Thats why winning commanders usually get the medals.

Gotcha. According to a few sites, its a 'formula based on your team's "positive" stats.' So you don't get hit for their teamkills it would seem.

i am very pro-medic. When im working in a full squad with myself(spec ops) 2 assualt, a support and 2 medics, its a freaking dream. everyone stays supplied and alive, and unless there is a equal squad or some serious armor raping going on on the other team, we dominate the server. Its the point whoring medics who spam packs everywhere that bother me. It seems like DIce went too far trying to encourage people to play support classes. IMO, medics should only get 1 pt per revive and should lose a team point when an enemy picks up their med pack. That would balance out the spamming of packs in heavily traveled areas. You are doing your team a dis-service when your random med pack heals an enemy.

I generally throw down med packs at spawn points like on Karkand as the USMC when you take a beating at the beginning, or in tough fire fights. I don't think I am as bad, but when the firefights start, I unload and grab my gun.

I am prolly gonna be on later tonight after we watch Survivor.
oo, forgot survivor was on tonight. good call. ill probably be on today/tonight as well
Jerkstore for playing during the day.
