There is more skill involved in BF than COD IMO. I'm surprised to hear Ryodan argue otherwise. The problem is that it is not really built for console. Maybe with the next gen coming out it plays and looks a little better, but the mechanics are not as smooth as other shooters.
Overall there's more skill in BF3, no question. COD has so many ways to cheaply kill someone, has aim assist and scorestreaks and all that cheese. In BF3 bullet damage seems lower, sniper rifles don't behave like shotguns in close range, and most exposives have less damage radius and do less damage overall. But, when it comes to close quarter combat, man-on-man SMG vs SMG fights, there's less skill in BF3, imo. In COD, you can plain vanilla strafe and shoot, you can drop shot, you can jump sideways and dive while shooting, you can jump right at him and hope for a head shot while hoping he shoots your legs. In BF3, you can either strafe and shoot, or run. That's it. Boring. That being said, I still found the close quarters map pack decent in BF3, just not as fun as COD. The rest of BF3 I got bored of pretty quick though - don't find it fun driving/riding/taking out vehicles, and find the maps too big. Far too often I would run halfway across the map to look for kills, only to find out they've either all died, moved on, or are camped out and kill me quick. It was pretty common to go a good 5 minutes without firing my weapon. I guess that what happens when you port a PC game to consoles...the player/map size ratio stinks.
