Battlefield game on the 360. Amazing new engine. EVERYTHING is destructible. Every building, every wall, every piece of foliage. You can blow it all up. Drops in June but the beta starts on Tuesday. There is plenty of info on IGN.com.

Third person shooters, yeah, can be done, but it is hard to do a good FPS on a controller. That said, Halo is very smooth with a controller. I actually like the controls for Rainbow 6: Vegas on the 360 as well. Cover systems do better with a controller, IMO.

i just signed up for a subscription at fileplanet. it was like $15 for the year and it gets you faster downloads and the beta 3 months before release. good deal IMO.

I've never been a fan either, but I'm getting better. This game looks amazing enough that I'll be able to give it a shot.

yeah, that's too bad. I'd love a new battlefield for the PC. I don't have a console yet, and I'm leaning PS3 for the DVD player. We need another game we can all rally around. I miss Corp swearing and Cow and Gator Shawn bickering. :rant: Good times.

You have Battlefield Heroes coming out this Spring/summer which will be free and sort of a TF2 look to it.

BF3 is due out December from what I understand.

There are so few games coming out right now that I am psyched for. Mainly Mines of Moria. There are some great 360 games on the horizon, as well - Star Wars Force Unleashed, Rainbow 6: Vegas 2, etc.

Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway might be good. Far Cry @? Perhaps. Fallout 3? Most definitely.

Honestly, though, those are the only couple that have my interest in PC as of now.

Mass Effect will be coming out for PC in May or June, so that will be awesome for those that do not have a 360.

Rip and I still play, although we've both been out the last week or so. Still a very playable game. Dropped the swearing btw!

How goes the BF: BC beta TLEF? Is it gonna be awesome? I hear the big complaint with the destructible enviro is that it is all gone within 5 minutes of the match starting.

You have a 360 Dave? BF:BC is skipping PC and is console only. Not sure how I will feel about making my gaming all about a console shooter.

i sort of gave up playing it about a week in. I loathe playing FPS games with a controller and it only had 2 maps (neither of which were super impressive). I may still get the game, but i was not impressed with the beta after the novelty of destructible environments wore off.

That is what I was afraid of. If it me, or is PC gaming just the absolute suck this year? I cannot think of a single PC title this year that has me excited. Mines of Moria expansion to LOTRO will be cool, but nothing else. BF:BC and Force Unleashed are the two games I am jazzed about and they are both console. :(At least I still have Crysis, Bioshock and HL2 ep's to finish.
 
Console shooters are ALWAYS dumbed down so that 12 year olds can play them. Its a shame, as the tech behind BF:BC seemed solid. Hopefuly it is carried over and polished to make the next PC version

 
and Spore is something I'm interested in. I was huge into Sim City growing up and this game just looks like a blast. The creature creator comes out in a few weeks.

BF3 was originally slated for early 2009, but I wonder if it will come close to that given BF:Heroes.I still jump on for a round or 2 of Wake a couple of times a week. I love that map.So who is gonna be on tonight?

Rip and I play quite a bit, hardly anyone gets on ts. I will probably be on around 9 central time tonite. As always. it will be a wake island free zone :unsure:

Sorry it took me a while to get back on. Wife needed to use the computer for things and I had to help a neighbor with some stuff. Still got a couple of rounds with my good bud Amish Boy though. :hifive:

 
i would have jumped on last night, but my power went off for a few hours. by the time it came on, i was so ticked off i just wanted to go to bed.
